After checking the comments at a couple of sites and on teh Facebooks and Twitter-machine, one is left with the impression that if one watched the Republican “debate” last night, one came away feeling that one’s preferred candidate was great, the other candidates one likes did OK, and the candidates one doesn’t like sucked.
It’s difficult to muster much enthusiasm or interest in these events. The country’s fiscal, economic, and social courses are unsustainable, and no “viable” candidate has the will to alter these trajectories. It’s like 17 people who all want to be the Captain of the Kobayashi Maru.
Meh. It’s not so much that she blew Chris Matthews away so much that anytime a Republican responds to a media attack with anything other than Droopy-the-Dog resignation it is a remarkable thing.
The Republican Party in its current form is simply not inspiring. The Republican Senate “Leadership” announced this week that they will not “shut down” the Government no matter what. Which basically means they will let Obama and Harry Reid get all the spending they want; Planned Butchershop, Obamacare, Obamamnesty, the EPA… all will be protected and fully supported by our cowardly Republican Majority.
