“Once again, the gay community feels the need to be sore winners,” he continued. “Is it so difficult to allow this women her religion? Or must we destroy her in order for her to betray her faith. No matter how we judge, it’s truth. The rights we have all fought for, mean nothing, if we deny her hers.”
Poor dude. He’s gonna have to recant this. The gay left is much less about equality than it is about stomping Christians. And they do not tolerate dissent.
If you support Davis, you support sharia law in America
littlelettermike learned a word, but has no concept in the universe of his ignorance what it means.
Maybe he meant to write: “If you support Davis, you support sangria law in Alberta.” At least that is only flat-out nonsense.
I rather like the sentiment shown by Madonna’s brother. It has the touch of class.
mike, do you have an INKLING of what sharia law actually says?
I think he just stepped in a giant like of dog poo and the angry gay left is about to turn their guns on him. The only thing worse than a Christian to the gay left is a gay Uncle Tom who doesn’t toe the party line.
Little mike, Christians do not practice sharia law.
And if you don’t suppport sharia, you’re an Islamophobe and a racist, right mikey? That’s what your Obama and your leftist Obama Party say about anyone who criticizes Islam.
So mikey, why are you a racist who hates Islam? And since you are a racist who hates Islam, why shouldn’t you be in jail for hate crimes?
The gay left are sore winners. The gay right is not.
The lady ought to resign and become a minister in her church. I think her life would be fuller if she did this.
It’s just unfortunate that this is the same person who abused the trust his older sister placed in him by writing a book capitalizing on her fame and revealing information he had no right to reveal. At least I hope he’s overcome his known substance abuse issues.
I am a heterosexual Catholic male. My wife is a heterosexual Jewish female. We married with a justice of the peace because neither of us wanted to convert to the others religion letting a priest or rabbi marry us within religion.
In effect a civil union.
What I don’t understand is why Gays are offered “special” privileges! I’d like that logically explained to me why gay rights trump heterosexual rights.
He understands the Gaystapo’s Final Solution approach to anyone who disagrees with same sex marriage alienates more people than it cows, including many previously for it.
If it keeps up, I’m giving Anthony Kennedy’s new “right” 10 years before it’s recanted.
Remember, the ban on the death penalty?
Little Mikey,
There are government officials disobeying federal judges and federal laws, and have been for awhile. Her motive has nothing to do with it. If you truly believe in equal protection; please tell me why sanctuary city officials aren’t in jail, or Washington DC officials aren’t in jail for failure to issue CCLs. Oh yeah, that’s right you agree with them, so it’s okay for them to break the law. Furthermore, jail is extreme. It was meant to send a message to all the dissenters in this country. Kentucky could have called an emergency session, and had her impeached, or the governor could have issued an executive order stating that her signature was not needed on marriage licenses coming out of the county. Now as it stands all licenses issued are VOID, because they do not have her signature. Oh, and gay couples could have just driven a half an hour to the next county. I am so sick of the crybabies like you in this country about Christians, when every other damn political group is pulling the same illegal crap. BTW, I am agnostic.
Bravo for him. I hope that he stands firm and doesn’t recant. It’s ironic that she is a Democrat.Nothing like eating your own. I am tired of the left attempting to limit our rights, by their twisting the meaning of the words in Bill of Rights. It’s their rights that need to be limited. The Freedom From Religion which is leading the persecution of Ms. Davis, should be declared a seditious organization on ordered to disband. The First Amendment guarantees the freedom OF religion, that the government will not prohibit “the free exercise thereof;” which means anywhere, anytime and anyplace. If they are atheistgs, fine, be atheistic, but dammit, don’t shove your hate for religion down my throat. It makes me want to vomit!
And if conscience impinges that heavily upon your business or your job, the solution is simple: Sell the business or quit the job. Otherwise, serve your customers and keep your conscience out of their affairs.
Taken to its logical conclusion, it is not just gay men and lesbians who are threatened by the “religious liberty” movement, but all of us. Is it too much of a stretch to suggest that most of us probably run afoul of somebody’s reading of their religion in some way or another? Who would welcome a future where you couldn’t just enter a place and expect service but, rather, must read the signs to determine if it caters to people of your sexual orientation, marital status, religion or race?
We tried something like that once. It didn’t work.
Sadly, if people like Kim Davis have their way, we may be required to try it again. They call it “religious liberty.”
It looks like intolerance from here.

Hey Rusty,
Where were you when the lesbian judge refused to marry heterosexuals for three years, or how about Gavin Newsom breaking California law and issuing SS licenses? Oh yeah, tolerance of civil disobedience is only reserved for those you agree with..
He can believe whatever he wants. He’s probably only that way because of his loony sister. If I had a family member as loony as Madonna, my beliefs would probably be opposite of whatever hers are.
Update: Judge Parker released the following statement to the media on Thursday afternoon.
I faithfully and fully perform all of my duties as the Presiding Judge of the 116th Civil District Court, where it is my honor to serve the citizens of Dallas County and the parties who have matters before the Court.
Performing marriage ceremonies is not a duty that I have as the Presiding Judge of a civil district court. It is a right and privilege invested in me under the Family Code. I choose not to exercise it, as many other Judges do not exercise it. Because it is not part of our duties, some Judges even charge a fee to perform the ceremonies.
I do not, and would never, impede any person’s right to get married. In fact, when people wander into my courtroom, usually while I am presiding over other matters, I direct them to the Judges in the courthouse who do perform marriage ceremonies. If my deputy is not busy, I will even ask him to escort or help these individuals find another Judge who performs the ceremonies. I do this because I believe in the right of people to marry and pursue happiness.

Once the court ordered me to stop, I did. I was never in contempt of court — unlike Kim Davis. Get your facts right @GovMikeHuckabee
Yes cut in paste Rusty, yet an Oregon judge who has arbitrarily decided NOT to perform ANY wedding ceremonies in Oregon is now under investigation, so Yeah again double standard.
Rusty,
Gavin Newson was still breaking a STATE law. Kentucky’s laws are still marriage man/woman. Furthermore, please cut and paste your reasoning as to why sanctuary city officials shouldn’t be jailed, or DC officials who refuse to issue CCLS. I’ll be waiting.
Day hasn’t performed any same-sex marriages since he joined the bench in 2011, but only stopped doing marriages of any kind this past spring. Judges in Marion County are not required to perform marriages, and Marion County’s website lists five active judges and one retired judge who are available for marriage ceremonies.
That decision led to an ethics investigation by the Oregon Commission on Judicial Fitness, Korten said.

Nice of him to say that. I expect to see his desecrated corpse (or at least a chic effigy) featured in his city of residence’s next pride parade.
This was never about dignity. At least, it hasn’t been for a while. Sure that’s the reason for a lot, at least it’s cited a lot, but the movers and shakers have had a very specific purpose: the marginalization of anybody and everybody who disapproves of their life choices.
Of course, the culture-makers in our society are sympathetic to the sob stories, and culture is upstream of politics nowadays. Doesn’t matter if the Republicans hold every seat in Congress and the state legislatures.; if Hollywood convinces people something is bad, they think it’s bad. If there’s anybody on the Right who doesn’t realize that, they are fools.
Flip Benham, the father of those failed reality show twins, issued a press release today which announces that he will today descend on the home of federal Judge David Bunning to call for his arrest. It reads:
Christians from across the nation will converge on the neighborhood of Federal Court Judge David Bunning, today. Judge Bunning has illegally and with malice charged Mrs. Kim Davis, with contempt of his court order forcing her to legitimize illegal marriage certificates to individuals of the same sex in Rowan County. We are calling for the sheriff of Rowan County to immediately arrest Judge David Bunning upon his entering the courthouse on Thursday, Sept. 10 for illegally incarcerating Davis and impeding her from performing her duties as county clerk. Judge Bunning is in contempt of the Court of Almighty God and the constitutions of both Kentucky and the United States. Kim Davis has broken no law. There is no law passed by Congress and signed by the President of the United States that would force her to issue marriage licenses to individuals of the same sex. Judge David Bunning is in contempt of God’s Law, and the laws contained in both constitutions of the US and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
The press release goes on to list Bunning’s home address in a Kentucky suburb of Cincinnati
A panel of legal experts on Fox News came to the conclusion on Monday that Kim Davis’ attorney, Mat Staver, was “ridiculously stupid” for asserting that the Supreme Court did not have constitutional authority to strike down same-sex marriage bans.
On Monday’s edition of Happening Now, trial attorney Chip Merlin pointed out that anyone who violates a judge’s order should “expect to be thrown in jail.”
“She can still practice her faith,” Fox News host Gregg Jarrett noted. “Just not on the job in a way that interferes with the legal rights of the citizens she serves. And in fact, the U.S. Supreme Court said so nine years ago.”
“She’s a hypocrite,” criminal defense attorney Sharon Liko agreed. “She’s applying for the job of a martyr. She wants to practice her faith by not issuing marriage licenses. Yet, she will not agree to let the deputy county clerks issue marriage licenses even if it’s okay with their faith.”
“When she took the job she swore to uphold the law,” Jarrett explained. “We rely on government officials to do that. They can’t just pick and choose what laws they like, which ones they don’t. If they were allowed to do that, wouldn’t that lead to chaos, anarchy and so forth?”
Raw Story
Rusty,
Still awaiting your defense of the sanctuary cities, and DC officials not handing out CCLs. Why aren’t they in jail or aren’t you capable of independent thinking? Or are you just a bot spewing regurgitated comments?
“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”
While sanctuary cities have been a focus for a number of Republican presidential candidates – some of whom have called for cutting federal funding to the cities – there’s no single definition of the term.
“One of the issues in having this national discussion about sanctuary cities is not everybody’s talking about the same thing,” said Kevin R. Johnson, dean of the University of California Davis School of Law.

So Melle which issue are you concerned with
Policies sometimes ascribed to “sanctuary cities” can range from barring police from questioning people solely to determine immigration status – as Los Angeles does – to not complying with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement requests to keep people in custody beyond their release on local charges.

Apparently, Cut-N-Paste needs to be humiliated again.
http://abc7.com/archive/9042429/
And in Kentucky:
http://www.upworthy.com/attorney-general-refuses-to-defend-gay-marriage-ban-breaks-down-crying-humanity-cheers-3?c=hpstream
And the coup de grace:
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/25/us/holder-says-state-attorneys-general-dont-have-to-defend-gay-marriage-bans.html?_r=0
So, Cut-N-Paste, spin. You and your fellow bigots shrieked that government officials didn’t have to follow the law and didn’t have to obey it. Your Obama Party stated that state and local officials were not obligated to obey or follow Federal law or court decisions if THEY didn’t feel like it.
So, bigot Cut-N-Paste, why should anyone else?
Furthermore, bigot Cut-N-Paste, you and your fellow gay bigots shriek that if officials don’t want to do their jobs because of their moral convictions, they should quit/resign/be fired and are unfit to hold any office.
So bigot Cut-N-Paste, why didn’t it apply to them?
The answer is simple. You. Are. A. Hypocrite.
And even funnier: notice how the screaming child rusty is whining and complaining about people holding rallies at Bunning’s house.
After all, only groups rusty endorses like Democrat thugs, illegals, and LGBT bigots should be allowed to harass people in their homes.
It’s so much fun watching selfish brats like rusty and their Obama Party enablers get spanked by people who are finally fed up with their lies.
It is not hypocrisy when dealing with lower life forms. Which is, come to think of it, probably what is running through what passes for the left wing brain.
Rusty-the Obama administration was ordered to stay any DACA expansion but the federal government ignored the court order. They have been stonewalling the judge for months but so far nobody is in jail.
Holder has been in contempt of congress for years (congress has the job of oversight and Holder refused to provide what they asked for). Holder is not in jail.
And do we need to discuss the IRS or Hillary? Koskiken has jerked congress around not for months but years and he is t behind bars.
Please explain why these actions aren’t violations of the law but Davis deserves jail.
The problem is progressives aren’t at all consistent they want jail, lost businesses and lost jobs for people they don’t agree with but think it’s just fine if the politicians with a D by their names get a free pass-shoot they even celebrate their violations of the law.
It was reported in the news this morning that a history teacher at the Springfield Hills Middle School in Tennessee (and I thought that this was a conservative state), assigned his seventh grade class to write, Allah is the Only God. Where is the outrage from the organization, Freedom From Religion? Why aren’t they demanding that the teacher be arrested for violating the so-called Separation of Church and State doctrine? Are they really atheists or are they just anti-Christian?
Rusty is pulling out “Know one nose what the meaning of IS IS in ISIS excuse” for sanctuary cities.
The courts have already made precedence by requiring businesses to reasonably accommodate employees. They, the state, can do the same EVEN THOUGH the 1st Amendment is very clear that the state cannot screw with religious liberty.
This judge, according to libertarian Judge Napolitano, had the ability to quietly take her name off the licenses to accommodate her, and put another clerk’s name on and it be legal. She would have had no problem with that. So simple a solution and he chose to make her a martyr.
Btw, the judge did not find her son in contempt when he said he wasn’t going to issue them, because there were others willing to do it.
The state needs to get it’s nose out of the marriage business. I don’t know why anyone needs or wants their permission or affirmation.
I’ve not heard Andrew Napolitano’s take on the matter, but the other analysis I’ve heard notes that while that may be technically correct, he [Bunning] chose to exercise judicial restraint and not federally butt in what should be the responsibility of the state to correct. (Governor Beshear has already said he will not call a special session of the KY Legislature to address such matters.)
It also appears that Judge Bunning might not have held Ms Davis in contempt if she had agreed not to interfere with her deputies’ issuance of licenses. She chose not to agree to that request and thus made herself a martyr.
