The Real Lesson of 9-11

September 11, 2015 by V the K

The tragedy of 9-11-2001 is an object lesson in the failure of Government.

The Government failed to prevent the Terrorist Attack (are we still allowed to call it a terror attack? Or is it random violence now?) because the massive Federal bureaucracies that have been massively funded to prevent this event massively failed.

The bureaucracy knew that foreign Mohammedans were taking flight lessons in preparation for the attack, but did nothing; in part because of Clinton-Era policies that prevented intelligence agencies from sharing information, and politically correct aversion to “racial profiling.”

The bureaucracy had been aware that Mohammedan terrorists had been planning exactly this type of attack since the mid 1990’s, and had alerted the Clinton administration to this in 1998. But nothing was done to prevent it.

The terrorists came to the USA on business and tourist visas, and were not tracked down after their visas expired. In effect, the terrorists were illegal immigrants. And the bureaucracy… which should have tracked down and deported them, did nothing.

On the morning of 9-11-2001, the terrorists waltzed through airport security without a single challenge or alarm being raised and then carried out their diabolical scheme.

The Lesson of 9-11 is that the Government failed; and the only successful anti-terrorist actions that day were taken by private citizens aboard United Airlines Flight 93.

I never had an opportunity to read the report of the 9/11 Commission. I have to wonder if they documented the failure of of both the Clinton and Bush Administrations to prevent the attacks. Refraining from acting is the opposite of FDR, who docked all but one vessel of the Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor so that they were sitting ducks for the Japanese attack. He exploited America’s patriotism to abandon isolationism in favor of going to war, ending unemployment and the financial depression.

Back to 9/11, there should be an investigation of persons in both administrations who would have had knowledge of the pending attacks.
We know that Obama is a liar and that he has been enabling muslims practically from his first day in office. The political class is corrupt and this is what makes candidates like Donald Trump, Dr. Ben Carson, and Carly Fiorina so attractive to the average person.

The real key to the terrorists success was the lack of visa tracking. The government should have known they were here illegally and booted them. For that lack of enforcement we got 9/11, the TSA, the war in Afghanistan, the war in Iraq, and all the rest.

The scary, and ridiculous, thing is that we still don’t have visa tracking, and we still don’t boot our people here illegally. Until that happens we are wide open to another tragedy.

The simpler solution is to make gun ownership simpler, and to encourage people to have them on an airplane.

And yet, 14 years later, government is participating in massive data collections of presumably innocent citizens, forcing those same citizens to participate in routines which would have been worthy of comedy sketches not too long ago just in order to exercise their right to travel, and enabling Islamic states which enable terrorism to acquire and develop weapons of mass destruction.

The simpler solution is to make gun ownership simpler, and to encourage people to have them on an airplane.

I’ll settle for knives (of any length), stun guns, and tranquilizer-filled syringes (the latter of which should be a requirement in every airliner emergency kit).

The real lesson of 9-11 is that we’re incapable of learning the real lesson.

When I was a kid in the 1960s you dressed to “…fly in the jet plane”, and you got to keep the nice logo’d silverware-set as a souvenir of your flight. I had them for years…

I’m all in favor of complementary steak knives for all airline passengers. “Hijack this, MF… !!”

The government has gotten very good at invading he privacy of law abiding citizens but still can’t be bothered to track and deport illegal immigrants.
