With the Left, It’s Always Subtraction by Division

September 13, 2015 by V the K

If the Progressive Left had a mission statement, I think it would read like this. “To constantly and forever categorize and divide people into special interest groups based on race, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, religion and other factors and keep them forever in conflict so that we can forever grow Government power to manage the conflict.”

Case in point.

The Queer Undocumented Immigrant Project (QUIP), a program of United We Dream seeks to organize and empower Undocumented Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer immigrants, LGBTQ immigrants and allies to address social and systemic barriers that affect themselves and the broader LGBTQ & immigrant community.

QUIP’s vision is to transform the immigrant and LGBTQ movements, to adopt an intersectional analysis in their efforts to advance and build power for the rights of both communities.

Oh for the love of… Are they bound to categorize and sub-categorize people until everybody has their own 100% unique identity group bar code?!

Sean L: NO. That would make us INDIVIDUALS, and “progressives” can’t have that!

OK, so gays want to have the same rights as straights but still want special recognition; OK so now we can have Gay Black, Gay Asian, Gay Latino, Gay Caucasian, Gay Jew, Gay Catholic, Gay Protestant, Gay Muslim. Gay Teachers, Gay Bankers, Gay Doctors, etc.. As a gay Jew do I need a yellow Star of David with a rainbow insert? Assimilate people; one minute you want ‘equal this or equal that’ but in reality you want ‘unique ID’s’ and that to me screams hypocrisy, the ‘war chant’ of the “left.’

    […] Assimilate people […]

The one common denominator with the LGBTQXYZ types who are members of identity groups with modifiers is that they universally live in either an urban or exurban area or in a college town in near proximity to a large urban area.

Put them in the middle of North Dakota where the entire county has less people than the enrollment of the university they attended and they will be lucky to find another person who is vaguely like them without a road trip. (Of course, if they are undocumented, they will need to choose their associates even more carefully.)

hey, benj @6: Can I sit next to you on the train to the camps? I have a huge admiration for the Jewish people (and, needless to say, for the state of Israel), and I’d be delighted to share a seat with you. We’ll look FABULOUS in our striped pajamas!

I’m old enough to have lived when this nonsense wasn’t done. In my circle of life, people were just people. We didn’t need to know everything else. You treated people with common courtesy regardless of who they were. PERIOD
