Thank you, Protein Wisdom.
Question: It’s concerning to me that you’re telling lesbians they are bigoted/transphobic/vile for being exclusively attracted to females (referring to the female sex, to clarify), and accusing lesbians of contributing to the deaths of trans women by not having sex with them. Is it very difficult to understand that people have reasons for not wanting to have sex with male bodied individuals including previous experiences and also just the fact that their sexuality is inherent? Requiring sex as a form of validation from females comes across as worryingly entitled and very coercive.
Answer: There is no “female sex”.
Coercively gendering biology is violence.
Trans women are not “male bodied”. You’re assuming you know a trans woman’s biological features, for a start. Some trans women have penises, some have vaginas, some have other genitals. Some trans women have oestrogen dominant hormone profiles, some have testosterone dominant, some have other hormonal makeups. Some have boobs, some don’t. But in all cases, they are women, they are female, and therefore – as long as they choose to define themselves as such – they are female bodied.
This is why it’s so hard to distinguish parodies of progressive thought from actual progressive thought.

But no, no, no! We’re not redefining anything!!
Tyranny of the minority.
This is very confusing. Trans fat bad, fat trans good? Is the transitive writer railing against intransitives?

ROFLMAO…….thank you, V the K, that was great.
Despite that this links back to the actual University of Cambridge, I still can’t tell if it’s real. I am a horrible person?
Yes there most certainly is a “female sex.” It’s having the combination of two X chromosomes and female genitalia. Anything else is classified under sex chromosome anomaly, hermaphrodite/ambiguous genitalia, or various flavors of transgender.
There are men, there are women, and occasionally there are people who don’t quite fit. There are men who like men, men who like women, and men who like both; women who like women, women who like men, and women who like both.
There. I’ve just solved queer theory and trans theory. Now can we please move on to more relevant discussion matters, like which Hemsworth brother we find most attractive?
No no, NOT “hermaphrodite” — that term is applicable to species in which it’s generally normal for adult individuals to have functional testes AND ovaries. For instance, in the American fish species Kryptolebias marmoratus, which lives around the roots of mangrove trees, nearly all specimens are self-fertilizing hermaphrodites — though occasionally, males are born, and the hermaphrodites mate with males instead of self-impregnating (yet hermaphrodites don’t mate with each other, even though they theoretically could!). On the other hand, many species of earthworm are totally, perfectly hermaphroditic, but individuals don’t self-fertilize; instead, a pair of he-she’s will have sex in a 69 position to inseminate each other’s eggs.
Anyway, my pedantic point is that apart from a few dozen species of tropical saltwater fish, “hermaphrodites” (i.e., normal-for-the-species “she-males”don’t exist among vertebrates, including humans. The word you want is “intersex” (i.e., “anomalous individuals within a species that overall has a strict male/female division”).
Under this logic, any male could claim to be female, and immediately demand sex from any handy lesbian … who would be forced to comply, lest the heesh get feelbadz about hisser newly-stated femininity.
My brain hurts.
@ Reziac: I refer you to “Steve, Queen of the Lesbians” on Youtube. It is most informative.
Reziac – I’d refer you to a bottle of Aleve, but that would be cis-pharmaceutical of me …
Roy Lofquist (#2) I think you won the internet for this weekend (a term I’ve seen used as praise). Nicely written.
And Sean L. (#5) Nicely written as well, although for a different reason. All this trying to take the meanings of words and turn them into something else (like turning “gender” from either a grammatical term or a polite term for biological sex into some form of Identification of sexual tastes/feelings) is enough to make my head hurt and my spirits sink.
So someone with a penis, no boobs, and a testosterone dominant hormone profile is a woman, if he says he is? And lesbians are required to be attracted to him and have sex with him? Next, no amount of wigs, makeup, dresses, surgery, and hormone treatments can make a man into a woman. That’s delusional. And if the Left were to be consistent, then it should allow Rachel Dolezal to self-identify as African American, along with any other white person who, for example, might want to check the box for African American to take advantage of affirmative action in admissions and hiring. And those whites who self-identify as African American should also be permitted to wear blackface, if they choose, so that their outward appearance matches their inner reality, same as Caitlyn Jenner is doing with his outward appearance.
I am hereby coming out of the closet. I am an NBA hall of famer. True, I never even played on my high school’s basketball team and I wasn’t born with athletic genes, but I am a hall of famer, because that’s what I wish.
Some HOF’s are tall, some short, and some have other heights. Some are athletic gene dominant, some aren’t. Some can shoot free throws, some can’t. Some have played organized basketball, some haven’t. But they are all HOFs if they choose to define themselves as such.
Thank you for listening. Please don’t mock me.

First off, I thought gender and sex was different in their world? Sex is biological and gender is “cultural.” If there is no sex and gender, then why do people change it when they feel they are the “wrong one.” FML, my kids are growing up in this craziness!!

Def. Chris, no wait, Liam, no Chris. Dang it, I will just take a Hemsworth sandwich to go please.
