I saw a headline on a morning newspaper (Dayton Daily News, FWIW), Motive Still Unclear in Oregon Shooting. I knew immediately that the motive was absolutely clear but inconvenient to the leftist narrative.
Yup.
Anastasia Boylan was in a classroom on her fourth day studying at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg when Chris Harper-Mercer entered and shot her professor dead point-blank.
She told her family that he told his victims to stand up and declare their religion, before telling them: ‘Good, because you’re a Christian, you’re going to see God in just about one second.’
Bill Maher must be a very happy man today.
This idea that everybody on the left is plotting against Christianity and wants to wipe out religion is offensive… to me! Because I’m the only media figure on a show week in and week out that says that! And I’ll be damned if the credit’s going to go to the entire left when I’m doing all the heavy lifting!
Read the comments in the piece to get an idea of how pervasive the hatred of Christians is on the left.
The POTUS would like to see all of America turned into a “Gun Free Zone,” or at least enact the same “Common Sense Gun Laws” that have made Chicago an island of peace and tranquility.
I have been keeping an eye on Conservative Treehouse where a lot of internet investigative activity is being posted.
Early in the process of discovery a post noted: “Alek Skarlatos (U.S. hero who took down french train jihadist) went to that exact Oregon Community College – Jihad retaliation? You decide” That may just be a coinkydink or not even valid. But it is an interesting possible puzzle piece.
Later, a profile appeared on the killer. What caught my attention was a warning by content editor “Sundance” about information gleaned from 4Chan:
The Daily Mail story has picked up the extreme right-wing malcontent meme that is embedded in the profile found on 4Chan.
Another commenter at the site in the link notes:The wayback machine now shows Chris Harper Mercer’s Spiritual Passions profile as having been edited 6 times on Oct 2, 2015. I took a screenshot. That’s weird since it’s still Oct 1, 2015 in the US EDT zone. Wonder where that date’s coming from?
I am totally unaware of 4Chan, but it seems to have a sewer reputation. Until better journalists track this loner’s history down, we are best served to reserve judgement as to his motives.
This mystery man killer seems to have a trail of obfuscation following him in death. Mighty strange.
I’m in the middle of reading John Lott’s book, More Guns Less Crimes. Somebody, if not me, should send POTUS a copy. I am convinced that all gun control arguments are specious at best. Those who incerely believe in gun control are thinking with their hearts and not their minds.
Thing you’re probably wrong on this one. The shooter listed himself as “Political Views: conservative, republican” in an online profile posted to the dating website Spiritual Passions (http://hollywoodlife.com/2015/10/02/chris-harper-mercer-dating-profile-oregon-school-shooting/). Hardly the profile of a leftist. I think the “inconvenient truth” this time may be on you. Mental illness knows no political ideology, race, gender, religion, socio-economic status or geography.
He said he was a conservative republican in his dating profile. He probably didn’t want to attract a Lena Dunham like liberal loon bat. Even crazy libs can’t stand one another.
Kevin that dating profile was false. People at the Conservative Treehouse did some digging and it seems this character had registered himself as a Democrat and an Independent.
The dating site profile was removed.
Aussie, people at the Conservative Tree(Nut)house will say almost anything. If we cannot make a conservative case based on fact, which I think at least some of us are interested in, then we should think about changing our views. Proof would be better, and you do not provide any. The profile was deleted by Spiritual Passions for very obvious reasons (i.e., he is a mass murderer who they want no association with, and he is dead).
