Barack Obama on Monday gleefully mocked the Republican presidential candidates who have called him weak on the world stage, suggesting the would-be tough guys “can’t handle a bunch of CNBC moderators.”
“Let me tell you, if you can’t handle those guys then I don’t think the Chinese and the Russians are going to be too worried about it,” Obama said during an Democratic fundraiser at the Richard Rodgers Theater in Manhattan, drawing laughter and applause from a crowd of more than 1,300
supporterstrained leftist seals.
A few points:
- This Last time I checked, the Russians had taken the Crimea, their bombers are buzzing our Pacific Coast, their submarines are lurking around our undersea cables, and they’re doing the job Americans won’t do in Syria. The Chinese are sending fighter jets to buzz our Navy ships and building a military base on the Spratly islands, Tell me again, Mr. President, how worried the Chinese and Russians are about dealing with you.
- The Republicans are standing up to the media, and it’s working. The networks are backing down to the party’s demands, and the candidates who told off the moderators are doing quite well, thank you very much.
- This coming from a president who is completely obsessed and butthurt about FoxNews for not behaving like the devoted, cult-like sycophants the rest of the media are.
- Candidate Obama, in 2007, absolutely refused to participate in a debate hosted by FoxNews.
