The lawyer for a gay man who either fell or jumped overboard from a cruise ship and died says either way that cruise line is responsible because homophobia.

Winkleman said it was Royal Caribbean crew members who instigated the situation.

“Throughout the cruise, there were anti-gay remarks crew members were making against them,” said Winkleman.

Because the staff of cruise ships are renowned for their intolerance of gay people and predilection toward antagonizing customers.

We have been on 15 cruises, 12 of them on Royal Caribbean or Celebrity (both owned by Royal Caribbean International). 6 of these cruises have been at least 14 days long. We dance together where ever there is dancing and we get rooms with a double bed. We have never, not once, had any issues with staff or other cruisers for being gay.. not once….

Now, I have seen gay cruisers treat the workers on-board with contempt and rudeness.

I’ve been on one cruise in my life… a cheapo Carnival 3 day jaunt from Long Beach to Ensenada. We went for a friend’s birthday and it we decided it was ‘Make your own gay cruise’

We were the life of the party… the staff loved us as we were great tippers, lively and fun compared to the sullen buffet munchers they were used to. They loved our makeshift Sunday brunch on the deck and our enthusiastic participation at the piano bar. One night we even hung out with the show performers and ended up making friends with them.

I call bs on this guy. Unless he was a sniveling a-hole queen. Then he probably deserved the name calling.
