A Holiday About Nothing

December 12, 2015 by V the K

There will be no Nativity Scene at the Florida State Capitol. There will, however, be a rainbow Pride Festivus poll celebrating a made-up religion from twenty-year-old sitcom.

Why? Because leftist gays and atheists are dicks who can’t just sit back and let Christians enjoy a holiday without throwing a narcissistic temper tantrum.

Some of us were discussing starting a new religion; a religion centered around the sacredness of beer, consuming alcohol, eating pork products, and ogling scantily clad women. How do you think the “Tolerant” left would react to seeing some religion other than Christianity tweaked and ridiculed?

I wanna call it the Religion of P.E.A.C.E. Pork Enjoyment and Alcohol Consumption Everywhere.

Basically, they’re trying to be counterculture hippies, thus avoiding the tedious bother of growing up. So whatever they perceive as the most mainstream will get the most ridicule.

Course they only get to do this because American culture (and for the most part, American law) not only allows but endorses counterculture activity. Try it in most of the world and see how far you get.

Sounds like a resurgence of the cult of Dionysus/Bacchus to me! Which would tweak the sensibilities of a certain religion even more, since they believe that worship of any other god besides Allah is punishable by death. And if I remember correctly, Dionysus also got it on with dudes a couple times, so homo dudes are covered!

LOL you’d think there would be not too much call for scantily clad women among most of the guys here. The lesbian ladies, on the other hand… 😉

(Yes, I know it’s with the intent of enraging the feminist Left. But I do love the thought of a hardcore lesbian telling a feminist to **** off and let her enjoy gawking at near-naked women: “What sort of homophobe are you that you try to interfere in a lesbian’s enjoyment of her sexuality!”)

On Seinfeld, Festivus was created by Frank Costanza, the father of one of the show’s lead characters, George Costanza. Observed annually on December 23, it is marked by “feats of strength” and “airing of grievances.”

Well there you have it – festivities – the airing of grievances. The left has nothing but grievances. The left has soaked in grievances until they are like smelly pickled prunes and thus they really do need a day to air out (just not around me unless I have a big can of febreeze).

I don’t drink but I am good with a pork BBQ sandwich wrapped in bacon on a bun made with lard.

Fun point, perturbed (#3). But we can still appreciate the beauty and art for their own sake.

I am disappointed in Florida/ I would expect Ric Scott, a Republican Governor to stand up against the liberals. If there is no Nativity, is there no menorah either? Why not have a Kwanza display? The libs should like that, an artificial festival to satisfy a race in place of Christmas.

Why not have a Kwanzaa display?

Thank the Random Gods of the Solstice that that-one never caught-on.

I’m sorry, is there something stopping your local church/house of worship from displaying religious depictions of Christmas? I don’t think there’s any ware on Christmas in that way.

Why does the state capitol of a government with no official religion have to display a religious Christmas display? Like it or not, in addition to the original reason for Christmas, it also counts as the largest non-secular holiday in the USA. Even without the commercialism, many enjoy the pervasive secular elements of the Christmas season – bright ornaments, decorations, music, special events, etc.

So, don’t get your knickers in a big twist because you can pretty much every other representation Christmas everywhere in the country.

So, Kevin, why can’t militant atheist theophobes have their own holiday at another time of year? Why do they have to try and ruin the Christians’ holiday.

I answer my own question; because they are a miserable, hateful, and spiteful people.
