Bullies are people who delight in using a position of power to inflict suffering on people with little or no power. As the progressive left accumulated unprecedented power in the Obama Era, they have demonstrated themselves to be peerless bullies.
The Progressive Left dominates the judiciary, the media, and nearly all Government bureaucracies. As such, they were able to force the public to accept gay marriage as a matter of law. The gay left had previously claimed that all they wanted was ‘Equality,’ defined as state recognition of gay relationships as marriages. As it turned out, achieving this goal was not enough. Those who did not support gay marriage had to be punished, had to be forced to acknowledge the greatness of the gay left; whether it was a Silicon Valley Executive who donated to a group supporting traditional marriage, or a mom and pop bakery who declined to participate in a gay wedding. The gay left used their control of the courts, the media, and some government agencies to punish their defeated opponents. They became bullies.
The path from “victim” to bully was even shorter for the sexually dysphoric. Refusing to believe that a human being with a penis is a brave and stunning woman brought down the wrath of the gender-bullies. By the end of the year, the city of New York announced a plan to inflict fines of tens of thousands of dollars on those who offended the sexually dysphoric by not using their preferred made-up pronoun or in any other way offending their self-proclaimed “gender identity.”
2015 also brought the rise of the ‘Cry-Bully.’ The Cry-Bully is a product of what happens when a spoiled and coddled generation of ‘Special Snowflakes’ is incubated in a college environment where victimhood is prized above all else. Above all else, cry-bullies seek the power to deny Free Speech to those who would disagree with them, claiming that such words and opinions are traumatizing to them. Their inability to deal with mere words is to be seen not as neurosis or weakness, but as something ennobling.
As 2015 closes, the front-running candidates for both the Democrats and the Republicans could be described as bullies. Hillary Clinton has a long history of treating underlings, critics, and her husband’s women with abuse and contempt, and her position of power within the Democrat Party has enabled her to construct a primary process that amounts to an anointment. Jeb Bush thought his network of cronies and power players would assure him a walk to the Republican nomination. Instead, he ran into a more traditional type of bully, Donald Trump. To a segment of the Republican Party dispirited and demoralized by their party leadership’s consistent knuckling under to Democrat bullying; Trump’s swagger and insults make some people feel like they are on the other side of the power equation for once. After decades of ‘Go Along to Get Along,’ it can be hard to blame them?
The pendulum has to swing back or else. The Republic which our Founding Fathers created, will disappear forever. My hope to restore the Nation, is that we can do it through the political process, which is why I am supporting the Donald. He seems to be the only one with “cajones” to put those bullys in their place. If, by chance, we are unable win, due to dirty politics, are we willing to engage the marxists Democrats in a civil war?
Leftists sure are afraid of Trump. I don’t see Trump as a bully because “Returning fire doesn’t make you the aggressor.”
Sheldon Anderson was trying to hide behind the debate moderators vagina to attack Trump.
It turns out there is one antique gays don’t like.

The new priest at my family’s parish mentioned “going along to get along.” Obviously, he is not a fan of it. He’s strict, but likable: he made a crack about post-Christmas attendance drop-offs at the beginning of his homily, and he has taken to offering Communion by the side door so that anybody who tries to split right after (a big no-no) would have to pass buy him.
Sean L – As a practicing Catholic, I like the style of your new parish priest. I have heard (don’t know the truth) that newer priests are much more conservative in the doctrine stuff.
@ Louise-B: He’s certainly a breath of fresh air. His homilies are quite excellent, and I’ve found myself attending Mass again just to hear them.
The one preferred pronoun it’s safe to abjure is “citizen”.
Okay, I’m looking at the still from _South Park_, and wondering whether the significance of the “sideways Omega” on the frat shirts was explained in the episode.
(It’s easy to imagine Ike noticing that one of the Greek letters is 90 degrees off because he had to learn the Greek alphabet when discussing the Septuagint in gifted-and-talented kindergarten Hebrew class. Then again, maybe they just used a fake letter to avoid legal attention from real-life fraternities.)
Lefties are often bullies, but so is Donald Trump, a vain and ignorant man who may get the GOP nomination.
What astounds me are the anti-bullying bullies, who try to bully people into admitting that they are bullies and try to bully them out of being bullies. It’s really bizarre.
Regarding Trump, better a bully than a thief.
My preferred pronoun of address is M’Lord.
Trumps bullying is more proof he is not a conservative. The more I hear from him, the more the crazy idea that he is a Clinton plan sounds less crazy.
I agree with tnnsne1. Trump is no conservative and no Republican…to me he is the true definition of RINO.
Trump is a bully and while it may be understandable [somewhat] his following because of the outrage over some of the “go along to get along” group on our side, that does not excuse to me his bulliness [if that is a word :-)] At least I’m not going to excuse it. I’m sick of the left’s being bullies and I’m sick of Trump’s juvenile actions.
Trump and Cruz, bytcheslapping the 2-3%er progressive/libertarian open borders advocates hostile to the COTUS and the American worker. Hardly a bully, more like the appropriate response to borderline confrontational/passive-aggressive behavior of 2-3%er progressives/libertarians.
On the bakery folks, I don’t understand why the ruinous fines. Just the other day an order came out against a male Muslim cab driver that discriminated against a woman by not allowing her to sit in front–invoking his religion that he cannot sit next to a woman–and he is only fined $350.00 and suspended for one day of work. (See http://religionclause.blogspot.com/2015/12/nyc-taxi-appeals-unit-says-religious.html)
Okay… I see now that the letters on their shirts are not a “rho” and a “sideways omega”; it’s a “P” and a “C.”
I was once told by a college T.A. that the Greek letter theta and the Hebrew letter teth both evolved from a Phoenician pictograph meaning “wheel” — and a certain literal-mindedness is a side-effect.
Plus, the writing on South Park tends to be so above average that I kinda want to believe that they’re throwing in obscure linguistic in-jokes, even when they’re clearly not.
I’m torn between that and “guv’nor”.
