Swedish police will no longer be able to give descriptions of alleged criminals for fear of being seen as racist.
According to an internal letter, police in capital city Stockholm are instructed to refrain from describing suspects’ race and nationality, according to news website Speisa.
The letter specifies that, for everyday crimes such as burglary, basic information such as ethnicity, nationality, skin colour and height should not be given.
Imagine future police reports: “Police have released a description of the suspects in the latest series of gang rapes. They are described as males with penises. The public is warned to be on the lookout for males with penises, and to report any males with penises to the authorities.”
This policy has been unofficial policy among American news reporters for quite some time, and the public has learned to decipher the race and ethnicity and political affiliation of suspects from the information left out of news accounts. So, as a result of this political correctness, a lot of people have kind of become more racist because if the police and the media don’t state the race or ethnicity of a suspect, they just automatically assume it’s a member of a minority community.
There is a great huge difference between the racist assumption “All members of Race X are criminals” and the equally racist counter-assumption “Acknowledging that some members of Race X commit crimes is equivalent to saying all members of Race X are criminals.” However, this nuance is lost on the Progressive Left.
After all, a rapist is just as likely to look like Bill Clinton as Bill Cosby.
