LGBTQ Person Loses Job Because of Intolerant Bigots

March 9, 2016 by V the K

The North Carolina Values Coalition — which is listed as a “hate group” by GLAAD and the Southern Poverty Law Center (Mission Statement: “It takes one to know one.”) — has successfully forced the president of the Charlotte North Carolina LGBT Chamber of Commerce to resign.

Sevearance-Turner was arrested in 1998, when he was 20, and charged in Cherokee County, S.C., with a “lewd act, committing or attempting a lewd act upon a child under 16.”

A 2000 story in the Spartanburg Herald-Journal said Sevearance-Turner had been a youth minister at a church in Gaffney. A jury there found him guilty of fondling a 15-year-old teenage church member while the boy slept.

Before he stepped down as chamber president, Sevearance-Turner said the N.C. Values Coalition’s criticism “did not surprise him.”He said his conviction had not stopped him from achieving success, such as being chamber president.

Of course it didn’t. An this is, like, totally not fair because straight people never get marked for life when convicted of sex offenses with minors.

So, he’s out of a job, but on the plus side, the “community” still supports him and Hillary’s going to need a Safe School Czar at some point.

In my experience, 2%ers lose their jobs only when they die or fail to show up repeatedly, never to incompetence, intellectual deficit or attention deficit disorder.

Errr, why is the exposure of a sexual predator “intolerant bigotry”?

@ Ted B.: I think V is mocking the attitude among certain Leftists that everybody on the LGBTQABCXYZ is a pure, faultless angel striving to bring enlightenment to the bigoted, hetero masses, and any time the court of public opinion or a court of law sides against a LGBT person, the person in question is obviously innocent, and is being sacrificed on the altar of bigotry.

This story, of course, points out that nothing could be further from the truth.

    Whew!!!

Take note: this clown was the president of the Charlotte LGBT Chamber of Commerce. That is no different from being President of the LGBT United States of America or sitting as Chief Justice on the LGBT Supreme Court or ordering homophobes to dig ditches on the LGBT plantation.

What sort of kangaroo kourt, convoluted anti-occam’s razor reasoning infects “special” people to believe they can declare themselves respected and noteworthy?

Chad Sevearance-Turner, former president of the Charlotte LGBT Chamber of Commerce, came up against Tami Fiztgerald. “No one who is a convicted sex offender should be leading a campaign to allow men to be in women’s bathrooms and showers,” she said. “It’s just common sense.” (Occam’s razor vs. anti-Occam’s razor reasoning.)

The tar baby in this tar heel state kerfluffle is the pernicious “man fondles adolescent sleeping male ward” theme. Society is not ready for the “pedophilia-is-OK” campaign. To wit:

The most controversial part of Charlotte’s expanded nondiscrimination ordinance would allow transgender individuals to use either a men’s or women’s restroom. If the person identifies as female, they would be allowed to use a women’s restroom in places of public accommodation.

Opponents have said that would make it easier for men to prey on women and girls inside women’s bathrooms. Supporters said there are already laws against that, and that transgender people are the ones who face danger in bathrooms.

Chad Sevearance-Turner is a sad, little man. He has serious personal problems. He is unhappy with his version of reality and he seems dedicated to changing the world in a way that makes his version of reality a happy place for him. In other words, he wants to pull the world he dislikes into his personal hell where everybody will be equally miserable with him as a consequence.

I don’t understand this reasoning. Aren’t there laws against assaulting x-genderz, too? I mean, my 6 year old uses the men’s bathroom by himself (he’s actually considered too old to be in a women’s locker room). With today’s high morals, he goes in with explicit instructions to scream as loud as he can if someone touches him.

There are laws against that, too. But it could still happen.

@ Christina: There seems to be a subset of the population who think they are entitled to a life without misfortune or injustice, and think that it is the duty of the rest of society to make it so.

That’s good advice; the world has gotten to such a point that I, as an adult male, will avoid any restroom or gender-segregated facility where small children are present and unaccompanied. I simply do not want to risk a potentially false accusation by an overzealous parent or guardian. It’s sad, because I can remember the days when I would lift little kids up to reach the soap/towel dispenser or hand dryer because they were too short to reach it. I wouldn’t dream of doing that today (unless, perhaps, their guardian was with them and couldn’t do so themselves).

On the other end of today’s reality is the new Seattle ordinance which enables gender-accessible restrooms and changing facilities. In a city-owned park with an indoor pool, an adult male (by birth and gender identification) was recently seen walking into the women’s locker room with board shorts and observed taking off his t-shirt in front of under-10 girls. When confronted, he stated that due to the newly-enacted ordinance, he had every right to be in that location and change clothes if he so desired. Park users were shocked, but apparently that attitude hasn’t concerned those who enacted said ordinance into being.

    And here’s a follow-up to the story: http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/culture/katie-yoder/2016/03/11/major-nc-paper-refused-say-sex-offender-led-nc-transgender

    Bias? What liberal media bias?
