The Progressives and Their Endless Witch-Hunts

March 18, 2016 by V the K

George Fields writes a totally “Read the whole thing” article at the Federalist explaining why left-wing activists always seem to be on some kind of hate-crusade against some villain-of-the-week.

It is innate to leftism to always identify some group as the source of all problems in society, some class that makes all mankind choke. For, you see, leftism is nothing but one unending witch hunt.

The Left no longer feels the need to identify a single oppressor, but rather has embraced a slew of them, each oppressing within a single domain: men oppressing women, whites oppressing blacks, straights oppressing gays, industry oppressing the unindustrious, religion oppressing the irreligious, etc. The net effect of these oppressors explains the fact that “all mankind is in chains.” Now it is no longer necessary to do away with only the church, or the rich, or the Jews; rather, it is necessary to do away with all the “ties that bind,” and human civilization with them.

The whole thing should be read by you.

It’s simpler than this. Since the days of the Left Bank Parisian Marxists, coffee drinking alcoholics gibbering away at “new & improved” formulas for a better society, Leftists have integrated violent repression & consistent, repetitive oppression of anyone that disagree & oppose their experimentation. The mindset continues to this day. While, it’s beginning was the consequence of divine autocracy in Europe, it has always been a poison to cure illness & good health. Doesn’t matter which. It’s the experimentation & fight to do it that we see, even in stable nations. They picked an easy target. Western human society, in which there will always be inequities at which to point a self-righteous finger. Because, one of the traditions of the West is indeed individualism where people succeed or fail.

The Marxists & artists of La Rive Gauche began what we see today. Instant attack on those that oppose Marxism & its subcategories. Their better way of doing things is dated & still alive, despite constant failure. But they’ll stab you in the back in a hot minute, literally, in their zeal to achieve Utopia.

Fear is at the core of liberalism, and love/trust is at the core of conservatism. Liberalism is about control.

Conservatism is about self-empowerment. For the conservative, when life presents great struggles, he knows he has the power to surmount them. Happiness stems from internal strength and perseverance.

For the liberal, when life presents great struggles, the system failed, therefore they were at the mercy of a faulty system, and they believe that only when the system is fixed can their life improve. Happiness is built on systemic contingencies, which they will then seek to control or expect someone else to.

Liberals are the ideological grandbastards of John Calvin. They are the Enlightened Elect. They are all good, and everyone who is not with them is irredeemable. All that is not of them must be cowed, remade in their image, or destroyed. Liberals can hurl vulgarities at their opponents and say they do not hate because, in their mind, hate is bad, and because they are good, they do not hate. Liberal America is Calvinist Geneva writ large: a realm where vices are taxed, dissenting from orthodoxy is punishable with shunning, and everybody watches each other for bad behavior.

So with all the this group and that group angst from the progressives, the sad fact is that most of it would clear up and the world would be a better place if all the Progs were deported to Mars. However if there are any Martians on Mars the Progs would be sent back in a day or two express.

The man who co-founded The Home Depot and owns the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons has come out strongly against HB 757, an anti-gay bill that is awaiting the Governor of Georgia’s signature. Arthur Blank says the bill, which would legalize anti-LGBT discrimination, especially against same-sex couples, will have a long-term negative affect on the Peach State.

“One of my bedrock values is ‘Include Everyone’ and it’s a principle we embrace and strive to live each and every day with my family and our associates, a vast majority of which live and work in Georgia,” Blank wrote in a statement.

“I strongly believe a diverse, inclusive and welcoming Georgia is critical to our citizens and the millions of visitors coming to enjoy all that our great state has to offer. House Bill 757 undermines these principles and would have long-lasting negative impact on our state and the people of Georgia.”

“What the New Testament teaches us is that Jesus reached out to those who were considered the outcasts, the ones that did not conform to the religious societies’ view of the world … We do not have a belief in my way of looking at religion that says we have to discriminate against anybody. If you were to apply those standards to the teaching of Jesus, I don’t think they fit.”

Deal, a Southern Baptist, said the Bible taught him not to “discriminate unduly against anyone on the basis of our own religious beliefs.”

“We are not jeopardized, in my opinion, by those who believe differently from us. We are not, in my opinion, put in jeopardy by virtue of those who might hold different beliefs or who may not even agree with what our Supreme Court said the law of the land is on the issue of same-sex marriage. I do not feel threatened by the fact that people who might choose same-sex marriages pursue that route.”

The condemnation is especially shocking coming from Deal, who is considered among the nation’s most conservative governors.

Progressives are intolerant, toxic, exploit the poor they claim to defend, and ruin the countries they govern, all for the purpose of holding on to power.

And notice how rusty didn’t mention that countries like India, China and Singapore that outlaw homosexuality, period, receive billions of dollars in investment and thousands of jobs from people like Benioff and Tim Cook.

I wonder why discrimination isn’t “bad for business” in those countries? Probably because actually taking a moral stand would cost Benioff and Tim Cook billions of dollars in profits.

It’s really funny watching liberals like rusty, who scream that billionaires like Benioff are what’s wrong with today’s society and that organizations like the NFL are racist and sexist and exploit minorities, suddenly post their opinions as gospel of what the rest of us should do.

Personally, I don’t see how acknowledging other peoples’ right to refuse me service if they so choose hurts me in the least. There are other florists, cake bakers, and whatnot. Besides, why would I not want to reserve the right to refuse service as I see fit?

This is another example of the parasitic nature of liberals. Liberals support crushing business under stupid regulations to coerce behavior primarily because they a) don’t run businesses and b) when they do, use loopholes like Benioff and Cook do to avoid compliance.
