Gay Men Are No Longer Oppressed, says the Crazy Left

March 23, 2016 by V the K

Ilion spotted this:  Left-Wing Activist Group Wants to Expel Gay Men from the Oppressed Victims Club.

The National Union of Students’ LGBT Campaign—a coalition of British student-activists—passed a motion to end committee representation for gay men, because they aren’t as oppressed as other LGBT individuals: like students of color and transgender students.

According to Pink News, delegates at the LGBT Campaign’s yearly gathering decided that “Misogyny, transphobia, racism and biphobia are often present in LGBT+ societies. This is unfortunately more likely to occur when the society is dominated by white cis gay men.”

“Cis” is a left-wing word meaning ‘mentally healthy.’

There was other silliness as well, as there invariably is when left-wing activists get together. “One asserted that the ‘A’ often found in the LGBT+ acronym should and must always stand for “ace” (as in, asexual), rather than “ally.”  So, that exceedingly important issue of our time was worked out before they broke out for a locally sourced vegan “mid-day dining opportunity.” (The word “lunch” being a tool of patriarchal oppression. {No, they didn’t say that, but $10 says if you infiltrated the meeting, you could get them to vote on that}).

So, if gay men are not oppressed, can’t we disband all those stupid activist groups?

Milo’s Dangerous Faggot Tour must have triggered them.

“Misogyny, transphobia, racism and biphobia are often present in LGBT+ societies.”

I would venture to say it is present more often than in the rest of society, myself. Hatred of women by male gays, hatred of men by lesbians, hatred of bisexuals by either of the two previous, and hatred of transsexual by any of the three others.

A few years back, I said the only thing keeping them together was a perceived common enemy, the rest of society.

And as the rest of society is forced to accept them, they turn on each other.

A few years back, I said the only thing keeping them together was a perceived common enemy, the rest of society.

And as the rest of society is forced to accept them, they turn on each other.

Exactly right. In the last decade of the last century, I was involved in the planning of a national event with planning committee membership made up of organizational representatives + regional [geographical] representatives. At one meeting, the ancestors of today’s SJWs looked around the room and decided that there were too many white boyz in da hood. (Never mind that the majority of those pale testosterone-laden specimens were sent by the organizations they represented, as if they didn’t have a right to choose their own representatives.) So the aggrieved parties demanded that proportional voting be enacted, with lowly male whiteys being given one vote, single victim group members being given two votes, and the victim jackpot being reserved for two group members (e.g., female & Black), with three votes each. It became so loopy that the situation was used as supporting evidence in a book by a noted gay author a few years later.

I realized then that the writing was on the wall as far as being a white male was concerned. Even though I have never participated in the women-bashing I have witnessed other gay men indulge in and have had many lesbian friends throughout the years as well as endeavor to have other friends who are not like myself, I knew that would matter not to those who saw only my outside appearance and identity. If such a national committee were organized today, I’m pretty sure I would have to beg to be allowed even to be a candidate for representation.

Though the example of the post is in merry new England, with its attendant socialistic financing of various groups and organizations, it will be interesting when the XY Anglo-hating trend makes its way across the pond to organizations here which are reliant on self-generated funding. Will those sympathetic evil white men who now fund many of the TGBLQXYZ groups in the US finally wake up and realize they are being self-taxed without representation, or will they continue to be useful idiots for the sanctimonious aggrieved minority left?

“Cis” means you were born in the body you were meant to be in.

If this were the 1970s, and you were the age that you are now, I doubt you would be arguing that men who have sex with men were ‘mentally healthy.’ Because, you are a man who has sex with men (or, excuse me, a man).

Good. Maybe we can have our gay bars back as GAY bars…

#4: Thanks for the explanation of “cis”, this is the first time I’ve seen it.

Little bit of chemistry background: A carbon-carbon double bond is not free to rotate, so there can be two isomers called cis and trans. Can’t really show the difference in a blog post.

As a gay man, I don’t want to be or think of myself as oppressed. Makes it difficult to relate to it associate with other gay men, especially in the Boston area. So many of the ones that I meet (not saying all) have that victimization mentality and bow down to PC nonsense and multiculturalism when it really doesn’t apply to them.

“Cis-“, like “Trans-“, is a leftist political hijacking of an English (via Latin) prefix; “trans-” meaning “across, on the other side”, and “cis-” meaning “on this side” — cf: Transalpine Gaul (Gaul Across the Alps) and Cisalpine Gaul (Gaul This Side of the Alps)

As we all know by now, “trans-woman” is a leftist identity politics term meaning, “a mentally-ill man who likes to pretend that he is a woman”. So, by the standards of leftist identity politics, a “cis-woman” is, well, an actual woman.

Hrm… I don’t think I’ve ever considered myself “oppressed”. I’m just a guy who happens to be gay. Not oppressed. Or a victim.

Pretty sure this is why I’m not a Democrat 😉

@ 10, you got that right. I’ve seen such oppressive gay men that make Vladimir Lenin look like a nice guy.
