Leftists, Gay-Friendly Church Features Atheist Pastor

In a society where a seventy year old man with a penis can claim to be a brave and stunning woman, and the Secretary of Homeland Security actively opposes securing the nation’s borders, why not a minister who doesn’t believe in God?

There is not one mention of God during the 70-minute service at Toronto’s West Hill United church. Bibles are nowhere to be seen. The large steel cross – one of the few remaining religious symbols in this church – is hidden behind a cascade of rainbow streamers.

But that is perhaps to be expected in a church led by an avowed atheist.

“I do not believe in a theistic, supernatural being called God,” says Gretta Vosper, the United Church of Canada minister who has led West Hill since 1997. “I don’t believe in what I think 99.99% of the world thinks you mean when you use that word.” Tor [sic] her, God is instead a metaphor for goodness and a life lived with compassion and justice.

Vosper’s outspoken commitment to a seemingly clashing set of beliefs has prompted turmoil in the open-minded United Church of Canada. A progressive Christian denomination that began ordaining women in Canada 80 years ago and for decades has allowed openly gay men and women to lead ministries, the church has been left questioning its boundaries.

“I don’t believe in what I think 99.99% of the world thinks you mean when you use that word.”How Progressive do you have to believe that the Nature of God is subject to a vote?  That’s as dumb as believing that Climate Change can be settled by a vote.

How to Make Weak and Dependent Children

Pretty much just stealing this post from Doug M, and just adding that what he says applies to gay yewts as well; teaching them to be pussies and wait for someone else to stick up for them is not the answer to bullying. But it is an effective way to create a generation completely dependent on external validation, conformity, and dependence on Authority Figures.

So, their “solution”? Turn to strangers at a bus stop. Cuz they’re niiiicer? Then they top that: a little girl ought to turn to strange men because 1] she cannot possibly just walk away and wait for a bus alone [??!?] or 2] she cannot possibly find within herself the resources to mock back at the other girls.

Think about a situation where a boy is challenged to fight and just rolls up in a whimpering little ball [as boys are being trained to do]: he’ll be taunted and smacked until the rest lose all interest. It doesn’t address the situation whatsoever: it merely marks the rolled-up boy as prey — both in the minds of others and in his own mind. If ya can’t handle it as a 3rd grader — or a 7th grader — howinhell are ya gonna handle it as an adult?

Along the same line, this girl is modeled as just siting there and taking it. Before running away to be with other people — inappropriate people — to salve her ‘wounds’.

How is that going to prepare her for a lifetime of other people challenging her — of Life challenging her — sometimes nicely, sometimes meanly? How will she develop the inner resources to judge her own behavior? Or will she be forever dependent on the kindness of strangers?

I notice that a lot of the “bulling” talk was the two girls quoting some un-named “Others” who said the mean things; as if that gave it more weight.

How about teaching a gurl to ask — or even think — “Why are you so interested in what *I’m* doing? What do you care if I read or wear make-up? I must be pretty important if that gets you all worked up!”

But no. The goal seems to be teaching children [future adults, yanno] to give up, give in, be passive, not even think of defending themselves, not even agree with their own preferences / ideas enough to defend them, not even think enough of their own persons enough to defend themselves. The key is it teaches them to give more weight to the opinions of Others than to their own. To give more credence to Social Pressure and .Gov Regulations than to their own researched and considered Values.

If everybody did that, who would make the decisions?

Leftist: You Shouldn’t Be Allowed to Defend Yourself From Criminals Because It Isn’t Fair

According to the Huffington Post, it should be illegal for you to defend yourself because it denies “justice” to criminals who attack you. I am not making this up. (HT: AoSHQ ONT QOTD)

The main problem with the notion of self-defense is it imposes on justice, for everyone has the right for a fair trial. Therefore, using a firearm to defend oneself is not legal because if the attacker is killed, he or she is devoid of his or her rights.

— Justin Cormi in the Huffington Post which apparently does not have a drug testing policy

Contrary to Hillary Clinton and Michael Bloomberg, the Second Amendment doesn’t exist because the Founding Fathers were avid hunters and sportsmen. The Second Amendment codifies the right of the individual to defend himself from criminal individuals AND criminal Governments. Criminal individuals and criminal Governments have never been happy about that arrangements, hence the Democrat Party’s all-out assault on the Second Amendment.

The Triumph of Democratic Socialism

I imagine if you’re a Bernie Sanders supporter (Sandernista), a two-day work week sounds pretty sweet; or maybe like too much effort. (“Two whole days? But my teachers said I was SPECIAL!”)

The socialist administration began imposing a four-hour daily blackout around the country this week to save electricity. Then, Maduro announced that millions of officials will now work only Mondays and Tuesdays, taking the rest of the week off in a bid to save electricity.

Electricity shortages in the country with largest proven reserves of oil in the world. Socialism is amazeballs.

Some Venezuelans complain that the country is starting to resemble the dystopian series “The Hunger Games,” in which districts suffer for the benefit of a heartless capital city.

And the five richest counties in the Unites States are those surrounding Washington DC. We’re feeling the Bern already.
