Europe will be speaking German

June 28, 2016 by Jeff (ILoveCapitalism)

…at some point, I predict. For now, they’re simply abandoning English.

The more that countries leave the EU (except Germany), the larger Germany looms in it.

Different subject (via Instapundit and Betsy Newmark): It seems that al Qaeda has gone politically-correct, or rather, what the Left would consider racially-correct:

Lone wolf jihadists should target white Americans so no one mistakes their terror attacks for hate crimes unrelated to the cause of radical Islam, Al Qaeda writes in the latest edition of its online magazine.

Sadly, we must consider what this portends for future tragic massacres by ISIS / al Qaeda of the U.S. gay community.

  • Will they again target gays? (from their Islamist gay-hatred and/or the tendency of ‘visible’ gays to be white)
  • Or grant us a sort of ‘exemption’? (so that the meaning of their next attack can’t be obscured, as the Gay Left obscured the Islamist nature of Omar Mateen’s attack)

Discuss.

Pity the poor terrorists. No matter how much they yell “Allah Akbar” while shooting unarmed victims, no matter how much they cheered 9/11, no matter if they pledge allegiance to ISIS or Al Qaeda, the Progressives still just pat them on the head and say, “No, Ahmed, you are NOT a Muslim, and your shooting spree has nothing to do with Islam. All the credit goes to Christians, Republicans, and the NRA.”

If you identify as a jihadist, the politicians and the mainstream media ignore you. If you are a biological male who self-identifies as a woman, they believe you. Or, at least, humor you.

I find that last, where Al-Qaida has to pick their targets carefully in order to prevent their intentions from being hijacked to something else.

But they neglect the idea that it can be placed on the gun. Whoops. No more gun use. Let’s use pressure cookers. That seemed to work.

See, you right wing haters? Obama’s strategy against Islamic terrorists is working! He’s purposefully not giving them the credit and attention they crave. He’s the adult in the room who’s not going to capitulate to childish calls for attention. He’s SO dreamy and his wife is beautiful! The only weapons that should never be banned are the chocolicious, well timed guns on Michelle…

That’s right, runningrn! If you stick a knife into me wishing to kill me, I shall refuse to notice. As I bleed, I shall pretend to everyone that your action was caused by my near-sighted neighbor’s hateful pepper spray, and I shall sit on her lawn until the neighborhood has been declared a pepper-spray-free zone. And that will make you give up trying to kill me with your knife. Because life is like that.

The UK’s vote to leave the EU is threatening what is arguably the greatest achievement of the British Empire: the total ubiquity of the English language.

Uh, no. The reason English is so prevalent has far more to do with the military and economic power of the United States in the 20th century, not the British empire of the 19th. Many non-British European nations began adopting English as a diplomatic and business language largely after WWII, requiring students to gain some proficiency. This might change somewhat with the Brexit vote but I doubt very much, as most of the world’s economic growth is in Asia; recently ‘capitalist converts’ like China are seeking to learn English at as rapid a pace as they can. As for German, it will never enjoy that position. As for Germans, they isolate themselves linguistically at their own peril.

Running… Or Obama is furthering their agenda by causing Americans to disarm themselves.. To believe an ISIS statement is naïve at best, but more likely just plain stupid. ISIS doesn’t want any armed civilians running around. Why do you think he hit a gay bar in FL instead of a redneck bar in Georgia?

Lord no, NOT German. Such an ugly language. Don’t get me wrong, I actually speak it (along with French, Russian and Italian…tackling Hebrew now.) It’s a great “engineering” language, and English is probably the most *precise* language. For most beautiful? My money’s on Italian, but I confess to a bias.

For beautiful speech, I much prefer the Thai language. So, Europe’s common language is now German; (Adolf won after all, didn’t he?) how certain are the pundits that it won’t be Arabic??

Hopefully Europe purges moslems so I can visit Europe safely again. My German isn’t that great.

Culturally, the real-losers here will be the French and what remains of modern French culture. As a tri-lingual entity, the EU balanced the three working-languages. Once the Brits are out, German-language hegemony is virtually assured on the long-term — especially if the financial-services sector and currently-London-based EU enforcement-authorities and regulatory-bodies move to Frankfurt, Hamburg or Cologne. And without the UK, the Rump-EU center-of-gravity will shift eastward to Mittel-Europa; German language, German culture, German businesses trading with the historically German-influenced Baltic states, ancien Austro-Hungary, and the Balkans and Turkey.

German manufacturing and high-tech will win-out over French tourism and cheese.

Do we have word from the Obama Administration on what was the motive behind the Istanbul Airport attack? Was it Global Warming? Brexit? Opposition to Gay Marriage? Or Anger at America’s Failure to Appreciate Obama’s Smashing Success?

Please cite your sources for your verbal vomit, al-Cray-da. Also, please do not confuse mass amnesty with a “liberal immigration policy.”

It is amazing to me that Germany tried twice, WW1 and WW2, to bring Europe to its knees and failed both times. Now through a seemingly benign organization called the EU they have been successful. Hitler and his associates must be having a great laugh. If the new EU regulations about armies, boundaries, etc. are put in place by EU member nations then Germany will have succeeded completely, creating not the 3rd but instead the 4th Reich. If I had not seen it I would not believe it.

Houdoxi71 – Yeah, sorry for the absence. I’ve been part busy and part super “tired” of news and politics. I find this year’s Presidential race depressing. Tuned it out completely for awhile, found that life was still good (or better). But Brexit gave me something positive to write about, I couldn’t let it pass.
