The Left Cares About the Feelings of Mohammedans More Than the Lives of Gheys

Feel free to waive that marriage license at the next Mohammedan who tries to kill you, the left is done with gays and moving on to court Muslims now.

Over the weekend, The New York Times found the real victims of the Orlando massacre to be young Muslims of high school age, whose Ramadan festivities were spoiled by the carnage and who were thrust into the uncomfortable position of having, once again, to defend their faith against the accusation that it was a basis for violence.

Given a choice between protecting the lives of gays and defending the sensibilities of Muslims, evidently defending the sensibilities of Muslims takes precedence. Instead of describing the haunting anxiety and fear that now scar the gay community, theNYT arouses our sympathies for young Muslims whose Ramadan observance was so rudely interrupted by gays.

I would say to the Gay Left that it’s a bummer the left doesn’t love you any more, but the truth is they never did. You were just a cheap bloc of reliable Democrat voters who could be bought off with tales of Republican Christian bogeyman and a ten minute photo op at Pride Parade.

Brexit: Marine Le Pen vs. the Clueless Elites

Two contrasting items today, in the Establishment press.

In Foreign Policy magazine, James Traub says “It’s Time for the Elites to Rise Up Against the Ignorant Masses”. Yes, that is the title of his article.

It’s a trashy piece, packed with elitist cliches and the occasional jaw-dropper (for example, when he refers to Washington’s infamous “K Street” lobbyists with approval). Yet it’s a tortured attempt to begin to face reality:

The issue, at bottom, is globalization. Brexit, Trump, the National Front, and so on show that political elites have misjudged the depth of the anger at global forces…

Actually no, Mr. Traub. Globalization, in itself, is not the problem. -Dictatorial- globalization wherein the political elites wrongly seek to enslave people, is the problem. But kudos to you, for beginning to tell the said elites that maybe there could be some sort of systemic problem.

A good contrast: In The New York Times, Marine Le Pen says “After Brexit, the People’s Spring Is Inevitable”.

British voters understood that… only one question, at once simple and fundamental, was being asked: Do we want an undemocratic authority ruling our lives, or would we rather regain control over our destiny?
More and more, the destiny of the European Union resembles the destiny of the Soviet Union, which died from its own contradictions.

There’s much more. As the saying goes, “Read the whole thing.”

UPDATE: Over at The Guardian, it’s even worse than the James Traub piece above. David Van Reybrouck’s article is titled “Why Elections Are Bad For Democracy” (yes, for real).

Starting from a blind premise that Brexit is obviously awful, he says “Voting is the problem” and suggests, in all seriousness, that citizen referenda should be replaced by focus groups (called “sortition” to make it sound nice and historical) which will be guided by the elite’s approved experts. Twink Eschews Personal Responsibility, Would Rather Dance

In other words: “I refuse to take responsibility for my own safety and will instead trust the FBI (who vetted Omar Sateen), Homeland Security (who vetted Tashfeen Malik and the the Tsaernov brothers) and local law enforcement (who let Omar Mateen’s killing spree go on for three hours) to protect me.”

If that’s his attitude, fine, because no one is going to make you carry a gun. We’re not like the left; we don’t force people to do things they find objectionable. As long as he doesn’t want the Government to infringe *my human rights* with regard to self-protection, he can do whatever he wants.

Although someone with a gun is much more likely to protect him than his smug leftist multicultural pieties.

Elsewhere, yet another gay dude fakes a hate crime because he’s an attention whore and because leftists are suckers for bias confirmation to raise awareness of how rotten it is to be a gay person.  This happens so often I didn’t feel like it warranted its own post; besides I didn’t want to flood the zone now that Jeff’s back.

Reminder on the mechanics of commenting

As the GP comment form says, “Your first comment is held for moderation”. It means that when the system thinks you might be new, it doesn’t publish your comment until a person (administrator) has come and looked it over. And sometimes, it can take a few hours (or days) to get around to it. The point is, it’s nothing against you. After your first one is approved, it should get easier for you to comment.

Play Misty for Me

Democrats have nominated transgenderoids to run in heavily Republican congressional districts in Colorado and Utah: Both of them are named ‘Misty.’

Misty K. Snow will run against tea party favorite Sen. Mike Lee in Utah this November, while Misty Plowright will challenge Rep. Doug Lamborn in Colorado.

Both solidly represent Democrat Party values.

“[Misty Plowright] has been in a committed long-term relationship with her wife Lisa for 9 years. Colorado did not have marriage equality when Misty and Lisa first got together. They had moved to Seattle in 2007 and were able to obtain a domestic partnership in 2010 before moving back to Colorado. Legislation changes converted their domestic partnership to legal marriage in 2014. They have both been in a loving, long-term, committed relationship with their mutual partner, Sebastian, for the last 2 years. All 3 partners support each other emotionally, physically and financially. “

Also socialism, unlimited abortion, Global Warming, free sh-t, and gun control.

Dan Savage must be so proud.

A Virginia man who works as an Uber driver tweeted threats to shoot at least two U.S. senators, according to testimony at a hearing Monday in a Virginia court.

Kyler Schmitz has been ordered held in jail.

In at least one of the tweets, sent in the days immediately after the Orlando nightclub shooting, Schmitz allegedly threatened to shoot Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.). The message was directed at Blunt’s official Twitter handle.

In other Twitter posts, Schmitz is accused of threatening groups of members of Congress by writing, “I can’t wait to shoot you in the face one by one.”

Meanwhile, overseas, the international airport in Istanbul was attacked by [REDACTED] who carried out a brutal [REDACTED] attack using assault rifles while shouting [REDACTED REDACTED], resulting in the [REDACTED] of 41 [REDACTED].

Virtue-Signalling Post-Brexit

Greg Gutfeld on why the left has gone nanners over Britain’s peaceful, democratic realignment and doesn’t give a damn about really horrible things that are happening in other countries.

I don’t know whether it’s hilarious or sad that Lindsay Lohan, James Corden and others are expressing outrage over Brexit, as Venezuela descends into an abysmal amalgam of Soylent Green and Lord of the Flies. Bold-faced names are expressing elitist outrage over a vote, while people down south are assaulting each other over toilet paper. Venezuela represents real-time suffering, not the hypothetical hysterias put forth over Brexit. The actual policies of a government – one lauded by Sean Penn and Oliver Stone – are creating a living hell, against the wishes of the suffering people. And yet, the stars in our celebrity skies prefer to wring their soft, precious mitts over Brexit.

Here’s why: Venezuela’s demise is caused by an ideology romanticized by the same people fretting over Brexit: socialism.

Because a starlet once lived in London, this compels her to express an oh-so-brave stance against Brexit (even though a week ago she might have thought Brexit was a laxative). Yet, has she said anything about Venezuela, or Syria, or Afghanistan, or the Taliban? I must have missed it.

My point: it’s no longer a comparison between one starving child and many, it’s a choice between exercising one’s moral superiority in a risk-free environment (let’s go on Twitter and call pro-Brexit people racist or dumb) – and calling out real horror (islamists chucking gays off bridges and buildings).
