Weirdo

This dude is obsessed with food, sex, and masturbation, which makes him a much sought-after speaker on the college lecture circuit.

Describing store customers who are “repulsed” by more exotic spice combinations, Friedman argues that people who stick to salt and pepper “have a strict recipe for life … believe in sex for procreation only” and live their lives “in fear of falling off the edge.” Hence they seek “refuge in rules and regulations.”

He continues with the theme, saying people who keep their spices simple are the driving forces behind “anti-gay, anti-birth control, anti-sex education sentiment.”

Actually, if the steak is a good cut and is cooked well, the only spices you need are salt and pepper.

But whatever… weirdo.

Leftsplaining How White People Are Supposed to React to Cop Shootings

A social leftist snowflake in Seattle shares her mindthoughts on the issue of how white people should react to “The Televised Execution of Black People.” Here’s the TLDR version:

1. Liberals, artists, and LGBTQAWXYZ are the most racially enlightened beings in the universe.
2. People who don’t live in cities are dumb.
3. If you’re not wallowing in white guilt, seek out an urban liberal artist or gay person to teach you how.
4. Once you have learned how wrong it is to be white, share your wisdom with those unenlightened hicks from the suburbs and rural areas (but try to be patient, because, remember, they aren’t as enlightened as you.)

Nowhere does the most special of special snowflakes counsel, “When you see media coverage of a policeman shooting a black person, you should calm your t-ts and wait until you learn more about the facts and circumstances.”

Also, there’s this:

We tolerate the regular, televised execution of Black men in our streets because when it comes down to it, we don’t value their lives quite as highly as our own.

Oh, pumpkin, that’s not racism, that’s human nature. It’s normal to value one’s own life above the lives of strangers. My personal hierarchy of lives I care about goes: Immediate Family; Extended Family; Pets; Friends; Other People’s Pets; Stray Cats; Certain Porn Stars; the rest of the Human Race.

It isn’t that I don’t care about the rest of humanity *at all,* but I care much more about those whom I have bonded with than people I don’t know. However, that does not mean I “tolerate” injustice or violence against people I don’t know. It means I, rationally, recognize the limits of my ability to do anything about it.

Will PC Ruin the MST3K Reboot?

Probably. The reboot is being driven by Joel Hodgson, who was never as funny as Mike to begin with. Joel always seemed ored and too cool for the room. Mike Nelson had a fresh enthusiasm for the material. I have always preferred Mike to Joel.

If this review of the new host’s debut is any indication, I’m not going to like the new direction.

More importantly, we got a hint of the new voice (Jonah) Ray will presumably provide; Ray’s riffs included jabs at xenophobia, racism, cat-calling, and Internet trolls.

But if the new show is going to be MSJWT3K — forget it. I’ll stick with Rifftrax.

Yes, even though Felicia Day will be attached to the reboot.
