So, Obama had $400 Million in US dollars printed up in bales of cash, taken to Switzerland where it was exchanged for Euros and Swiss francs, and then flown in an unmarked jet to Iran where it was delivered to the mullahs in the middle of the night.
Yeah, that seems like a totally legit operation right there.
I can sort of buy that it had nothing to do with the Americans being held hostage at the time because I don’t think Obama really needs an excuse to send almost half a billion dollars to America’s sworn enemies in the crucible of global Islamic terror.
Oh yes, totally legit. As legitimate as HilLIARy’s interpretation of Comey’s statements on her competence to be in charge of our nation’s security.
“This was not a ransom.” Right you are, Jack Kirby. The proper term for this payment is jizya.
This ‘operation’ makes the US one of the world’s biggest state sponsors of terrorism, 2016. There was no compelling reason to repay Iran either in assets or cash but Obama is not a compelling president. Shameful.
I’m suspicious about how it was “cash money”. Sensible governments move money all the time between governments and central banks electronically and by draft. Yet for this “transaction” with was physical, non-sequential cash on shipping pallets — like a ransom payment?
Meanwhile an admitted sexual predator — and former Speaker of the US House of Representatives — languishes in Club Fed not for being a perv’, but for making suspiciously-structured cash withdrawals from his personal bank accounts.
Laws are for the little people…
“Laws are for the little people…”
And, those who say “Laws are for the little people” in any tone than a self-congratulatory “but, of course” are little people.
^ Just in case that wasn’t clear enough, what I said is that in the eyes of those who expect that the laws do not apply to them, the fact that *we* “little people” disagree is the proof that the laws are for us, not they, to obey.
“This ‘operation’ makes the US one of the world’s biggest state sponsors of terrorism, 2016. There was no compelling reason to repay Iran either in assets or cash”.
Oh, but there was. The United States entered into an agreement to sell thousands of missles to Iran. Iran paid $400 million for those missles and the U.S. reneged on the contract because of (if I remember correctly) the Iran hostage situation. International courts ruled that the U.S. must repay the money. It is Iran’s money, the U.S. does not have a valid claim to it so it must repay the money plus the interest accrued since the u.s. illegally seized the money.
“We did not pay ransom for the American hostages” is the Obama version of Bill Clintons’…”I did not have sexual relations with that woman”
