The Left Embraces Conversion Therapy

September 17, 2016 by V the K

The left denounces the idea that people can willingly change their sexual behavior through a focused program of counseling. They say it’s a scam. That even people who strongly desire to change their sexual behavior cannot be helped by what they call “Conversion Therapy.”

But when it comes to brainwashed, radicalized Mohammedan terrorist… of course, conversion therapy is the answer.

France is planning on opening de-radicalization centers to combat its growing Islamic terrorist threat, and then hoping jihadis volunteer to be “de-radicalized.”

France plans on building 12 of these centers, which can only accommodate up to 25 people at one time. French officials told The Washington Post that the centers were for potential terrorists “looking for way out” and that the government could not order citizens to take part.

The 10 month curriculum at each center will focus on emphasizing French identity and instilling a sense of nationalism among the voluntary attendees. Classes will include courses on French history, religious identities in France, philosophy, leaving ample time for athletics. A French interior ministry official referred to the program as “republican gestation.”

So, conversion therapy won’t work on gays, but it will totally work on Mohammedans who are hell-bent mass-murdering secular western people.

It amuses me to no end the logical pretzels people tie themselves into in order to justify what they are doing while condemning something very similar in someone else.

This isn’t that hard to figure out. They’re simply saying that sexual orientation is not a choice, and thus not open to conscious change, while religion is. Are you saying then that religion is NOT a choice? That it’s simply a matter of genetics? In that case, you’d be arguing that your religious *beliefs* have no connection to truth, and you’ve just destroyed religion

(shorter version: orientation is not the same as a belief system)

Or what rtm said above with more sophistication.

CrayCray and RTM’s “logic”, in a nutshell:

    A) Sexual orientation, which means to what sex you are attracted, is 100% fixed at birth, can never change no matter what, and is a biological certainty despite having no genetic or biological marker whatsoever.

    B) Sex, on the other hand, is 100% fluid, can change at any time to be whatever you want it to be, and is not a biological certainty despite having numerous genetic and biological markers.

    C) “Conversion therapy” is wrong, but giving children “therapy”, hormones and surgery so they can change their sex is wonderful and should be a state mandate.

Of course, the reason conversion therapy frightens rtm and CrayCray so much is because claiming their idiotic behavior is “biological” is much more of a convenient excuse then acknowledging it’s their preference to act like idiots.

Oh, and of course we have this:

    D) Therapy never works on sexual orientation, except when it’s one we support like pedophilia (http://www.gaypatriot.net/2016/09/14/peek-into-the-mind-of-a-berkeley-leftist/) and we need to keep the person out of jail.

It’s always funny to read North Dallas 30’s response because it always veers off into things you haven’t said. For instance, there’s nothing whatsoever in my post about transgender people, so of course he makes that the bulk of his response. It’s hard to say whether he’s fundamentally dishonest (and he has declared on this website his intention to forego honesty) or is simply that clueless when writing his retorts. Either way, it’s endlessly amusing.

And if everyone is being completely honest, it doesn’t work on pedophilia either, at least to the extent that conversion therapy advocates claims it works on same-gender attraction. The best that can happen is that the patient is not motivated to act on any desires they may have. At the high end of the treatment success rate, they can be managed outside of an institutional setting. At the low end of the treatment success scale, they will undoubtedly need to be in an institutional setting, either a correctional facility or a mental health facility.

The goal is to balance public safety with institutionalization, as the latter is extremely expensive when compared to other options. The Berkeley case referenced could go either way; exhibitionistic masturbators may simply be acting out other underlying pathologies or they could be entry-level pedophiles. Without proper evaluation and supervision, it’s impossible to determine.

Whoa, that’s a blanket statement…on par with “homosexuals are pretty much pedophiles” or “Republicans are pretty much racist rednecks”. I hope the perspective is from experience and not ignorance. Either way, there are many types of therapy in the mental health arena, some have a better track record than others. There are too many in my neck of the woods who still think that the best therapists are named Jim Beam and Jack Daniels, much to the detriment of their families and the community in general.

I haven’t ever read him actually make a declaration that he will forego honesty. However, years ago, I recall either him saying and/or others commenting on his posting style as a “reverse Alinsky” method of debate.

Also, he had years ago made accusations towards me that I was a slut who has condomless sex in order to spread HIV. He also accused me of pedophilia. Charming guy. Maybe a little crazy, if not an unrepentant liar.

To me, it’s kind of like his idea of performance art. And, like you said, most importantly, endlessly amusing.

Or he’s just forcing you to confront the idiocy of the leftist ideology you so obediently bleat.

Which is, of course, why you and CrayCray are whining like crazy. It’s a deflection tactic to avoid the obvious illogic and hypocrisy that has been made so blatantly obvious.

Meanwhile, it’s entertaining watching CrayCray repeating his pattern of ankle-biting and attempting to tear down people who are his moral, intellectual and societal betters. Perhaps he would be in a better situation if he stopped trying to con people who interact with him in good faith into giving him information that he then uses to stalk, doxx, and attempt to blackmail others.

I’m hoping the author of this article “V the K” isn’t gay. His logic is illogical. CrayCrayPatriot said it best … born this way versus conditioning. The whole point about the success of the “American Experience” is assimilation. After a generation (or a couple generations) the children of immigrants eventually assimilate into the society.
