American Leftists Declare #NotMyPresident

Seems like just a couple of weeks ago, the Democrat Media Complex was wringing its little hands over the thought that Trump supporters might not accept the outcome of the election.

  • Spoiled high school punks in Berkeley walk out of class, waving Mexican flags and chanting “Si, se puede.”
  • Spoiled leftists block freeway in Portland OR.
  • Spoiled leftists in NYC take to the street chanting obscenities in anti-Trump protest.
  • Spoiled college leftists in Washington DC protest Trump by burning the American Flag.
  • Additional #NotMyPresident protest planned for Boston.

The Democrat Front Group MoveOn.Org is planning and bankrolling additional protests of the election that didn’t go the way they wanted it to.

In California, disappointed leftists are organizing a secession movement. Wonder if these are the same people who threatened military force would be used again to keep the country together if other states wanted to secede from the People’s Republic of Obama.

Democrat Media Complex … not especially concerned that Hillary supporters are refusing to accept the election results.

Let me ask you, when Mitt Romney lost, did anybody do this?

Says a lot about the state of the left today… Protest, destroy, burn – and whine.

That’s because, I think, many of them are still in shock. It. Wasn’t. Supposed. To. Turn. Out. Like. This. But it has, and they are still busy trying to explain to themselves why it happened. Meanwhile, out here in Middle America (akin to Middle Earth to many urbanites), no explanation is necessary. So as ILC suggested earlier, perhaps it’s benevolent to give them a few days to process before they can realistically be expected to start covering real news again.

However, if the tantrums continue (and I personally expect they will), then they will be remiss in not covering them and also highlighting the ridiculousness of continuing to protest something which has happened in the past yet in reality, has not yet taken place.

I knew it would happen, but it is beyond irritating nonetheless. This whole #NotMyPresident crap is 2001-2008 all over again. Forget STEM and language proficiency for a moment and let’s focus on what really needs to be taught in schools again: basic civics. That means the Constitution, the Declaration Of Independence, the Federalist Papers, the Magna Carta and other documents which have made the USA what it is today in terms of basic government and political structure. Maybe then the generation which is taught these things will come to realize that being a citizen means a whole lot more than opening your yap every time something doesn’t go your way as well as that if you were alive and a citizen from 2001 to 2017, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump were all your presidents—whether you voted for them or not.

New reader here. Love it! What’s going on is ridiculous. That video is old, though. It was just people smashing their TVs whenever Trump spoke during the campaign. Still immature, regardless…

[Actually, I had already had second thoughts about its authenticity and had already decided to delete it – VtK]

That comparison doesn’t work. Many on the left have argued before yesterday that some of the support Trump was getting was something completely new, different to Bush, McCain, Romney, etc. They put him and a good cross section of his supporters in a completely different bracket (or basket).

IF Trump lost the election, you can’t make the argument some of his supporters would not have acted the same way (nor can I say they would, but see below). This is a new beast. An anti-establishment candidate who used fear-mongering in his speeches. If you disagree, then explain this:

That being said, I don’t agree with violence in protest or such displays from any side.

I care less that That Horrid Woman gave a pretty speech when she had no other choice than that fact that her campaign was paying operatives to stir up violence at Trump events (as confirmed by the Project Veritas videos).

James O’Keefe is no better than Michael Moore when it comes to journalistic/documentarian integrity.

Fired for selling her out or fired for engaging in unapproved tactics?

I knew a few people who said the same things / wore “Not My President” t-shirts in school back in 2000/2001 with W. My response now is similar to my response then – recognize they’re idiots and/or ignorant and then reach out when I can (especially now with Trump). It may be futile with a lot of these people, but the biggest battle I see team Trump facing now is helping people understand that this was Western populism, not “white” populism. The more I can do to help explain this clearly, the better.

The TV smashing was kinda funny. As are the Left’s constitutionally-protected demonstrations… of what babies they are.

If they’re going to loot again though, that’s bad.

As to Hillary’s concession speech: She said basic things to calm her supporters that every losing candidate, Republican or Democrat, says (or ought to).

In effect, CCP, you want us to praise Hillary for engaging in proper behavior. Has the bar fallen that low? Or is it more a philosophy that when a criminal does something right or good, we should specially praise them?

I’m not sure you follow what I was saying. V the K posted all these awful and unproductive things that some people are doing (which is fine; that’s his choice). I’d rather focus on what she said in her speech:

I hope that he will be a successful president for all Americans. This is not the outcome we wanted or we worked so hard for, and I’m sorry we did not win this election for the values we share and the vision we hold for our country.

Our campaign was never about one person, or even one election. It was about the country we love and building an America that is hopeful, inclusive, and big-hearted. We have seen that our nation is more deeply divided than we thought. But I still believe in America, and I always will. And if you do, then we must accept this result and then look to the future. Donald Trump is going to be our president. We owe him an open mind and the chance to lead. Our constitutional democracy enshrines the peaceful transfer of power.

We don’t just respect that. We cherish it. It also enshrines the rule of law; the principle we are all equal in rights and dignity; freedom of worship and expression. We respect and cherish these values, too, and we must defend them.

Let me add: Our constitutional democracy demands our participation, not just every four years, but all the time. So let’s do all we can to keep advancing the causes and values we all hold dear. Making our economy work for everyone, not just those at the top, protecting our country and protecting our planet.

And breaking down all the barriers that hold any American back from achieving their dreams. We spent a year and a half bringing together millions of people from every corner of our country to say with one voice that we believe that the American dream is big enough for everyone.

For people of all races, and religions, for men and women, for immigrants, for LGBT people, and people with disabilities. For everyone.

Now, I know we have still not shattered that highest and hardest glass ceiling, but someday someone will — and hopefully sooner than we might think right now … And to all of the little girls who are watching this, never doubt that you are valuable and powerful and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world to pursue and achieve your own dreams.

I count my blessings every single day that I am an American, and I still believe, as deeply as I ever have, that if we stand together and work together with respect for our differences, strengthen our convictions, and love for this nation, our best days are still ahead of us.

Because, you know, I believe we are stronger together and we will go forward together. And you should never, ever regret fighting for that. You know, scripture tells us, let us not grow weary of doing good, for in good season we shall reap. My friends, let us have faith in each other, let us not grow weary and lose heart, for there are more seasons to come and there is more work to do.

It was a good speech, and I wish more people on the left would take what she has to say to heart. Comparing her to a witch and highlighting the immaturity on the left isn’t helping either.

Fired for selling her out or fired for engaging in unapproved tactics?

Good question. Scott Adams broke this down at the time it happened in in one of his Periscope sessions. He noted that the Clinton campaign denied any involvement in the actions—and then fired those involved from whatever their official role was in the campaign. The gay dude [whose name escapes me at the moment] admitted in the video that they had been doing this “for decades”. SA noted that the fact they had fired the people involved meant that they were guilty of something and thus essentially admitted to the dirty tricks. Why they were fired is irrelevant to the issue, as they were deemed toxic to the campaign—or at least the image of the campaign, and therefore needed to be separated.

But it does make one wonder what would have happened if there weren’t a video admission and simply a mole who made an allegation that might not have been easy to completely disprove. Theoretically, campaigns are like intelligence or combat: you might do things which are unethical or questionable (or perhaps simply “not nice things to do”), but as long as they aren’t illegal and can’t be traced directly to the campaign, they are acceptable unless someone happens to talk about them. That these disruption tactics had been apparently been standard operating practice for years suggests that the practitioners had become so inured to their presence that they had forgotten how clandestine they actually were. Thus proving the old wartime adage, “Loose lips sink ships.”

    So, dissent is patriotic again?

Huh, wonder why that is? Oh, right, because the Left are every bit the racists, bigots, sexists, and monstrous human beings they claim the Right to be — they see themselves in everyone else.

This quote of Hillary’s is downright offensive:

Our campaign was never about one person, or even one election. It was about the country we love and building an America that is hopeful, inclusive, and big-hearted.

…given that she really means a corrupt, dictatorial America where government uses coercion to “take things away” from its citizens (Hillary’s famous phrase) and she is above the law.

An America that is actually hopeful, inclusive and big-hearted would, out of respect for its citizens’ rights to life liberty and property, have the smallest government possible. And would jail its most-corrupt politicians.

Succession is no surprise; that’s always been one of the four pillars of the Democrat party – along with Slavery, Segregation (now brilliantly resurrected as “safe spaces”) and Socialism.
