Dutch Government Watchdog: Death Threats Against Gays Are OK If Mohammedans Make Them

So… just to make sure I understand this… a Christian cannot be allowed to refuse to participate in a gay wedding because the interests of the state trump his religious beliefs, but it is OK for a Mohammedan to make death threats against gays because his religious beliefs must be supreme.

Quite remarkable, isn’t it?

According to Dutch media advisors from the anti-discrimination bureau MiND said that, while homophobic abuse was usually a crime, it was justifiable if you were Muslim due to laws on freedom of religious expression.

They argued that the Koran says it is acceptable to kill people for being homosexual, and so death threats towards gay people from Muslims could not be discriminatory.

In a jaw-dropping email explaining why they could not take up the complaint, they wrote: “The remarks must be seen in the context of religious beliefs in Islam, which juridically takes away the insulting character.”

The article suggests that the Dutch Government was okay with the threats posted to a public forum because if you looked at them in a certain way, they were kind of academic, sort of. “Death and brutality are what the Koran says should be meted out to sodomites,” rather than specific targetes threats.

Personally, I think it’s just plain cowardice.

You know who are the only people really pushing back against this? The “extreme right.”

  1. Obviously the Dutch Government has become too-stupid to live. It was a nice country while it lasted….

  2. Obviously they figured out that there are more Muslims to appease for votes than gays.

  3. So if you’re a Christian and say anti Mohammedan comments, it is OK due to religious freedom in Holland.

  4. Wow, just wow. The Dhimmi Dutch are going to lose their heads over this one. We live in a dystopian universe. The inmates are running the asylum, and they’re going to get everyone killed!

  6. Hitler lives in the hearts and minds of the Dutch media. The oft repeated phrase known to all Jews, “never forget” will some day be replaced by, “it never happened.”

  7. Life comes full circle to the 2%er bizarro world. Gays make death threats to Christians and the heterosexual majority and Muslims make death threats to homosexuals and bisexuals. ROFLMAO………….the sandnazis and prognazis are made for each other as both manifest borderline personality disorder. ROFLAMO.

  8. So then can a Christian quote the pertinent verses in Genesis, Deuteronomy, and Romans without consequence? No? How interesting.

  9. all this appeasement of muslim beliefs on the treatment of gays comes from the left the protectors of “gay rights.” I guess rights are important but lives not so much.

  12. In the progressives’ hierarchy of victimhood, Mohammedan trumps gay. We’ve known that for a long time. This new twist just follows that premise to its logical conclusion.

  13. We will all see this coming up everywhere the Left has influence. Deep is the attraction that draws the leftist to Islam. Like honey, the leftist loves Islam – but every individual means nothing to both the leftist and Islam.

  14. So then can a Christian quote the pertinent verses in Genesis, Deuteronomy, and Romans without consequence?

    That seems to be an unanswered question under Dutch law. But the ideal test case would be Lev. 20:13 — the only verse in the Bible that authorizes a human-applied death penalty for homosexual activity.

    The destruction of Sodom in Genesis was miraculous (and according to Ezek. 16:49-50, had little or nothing to do with sexual sin); Deut. 23:17 and 18 both address homosexual male prostitution but no punishment is recommended; Rom. 1:27 deals with male homosexuality (and, according to some, 1:26 deals with lesbianism), but again, Paul says nothing about earthly punishment. (Except maybe for implied excommunication from the church.)

    Again, I dunno how Dutch free-speech law works, but in the US, the question of whether “hateful” language appeared to be “fighting words” or an exhortation to violence or tantamount to “yelling fire in a crowded theater” is very important. So the question is whether Mohammedans are being cut slack because they’re a “vulnerable minority,” or if the actual speech used was within protected thresholds as defined by Dutch law.

    PS. Also important not to confuse one country with another — the fact that a Christian pastor in Sweden may have been penalized for quoting Lev. 20:13 does not necessarily have bearing on Dutch law.

    PPS. And remember that in countries with an “established” church, pastors in this church may be held to stricter standards than leaders in minority religions without official state recognition.

    http://www.infowars.com/german-government-worries-about-islamophobia-after-muslim-refugee-rapes-kills-woman/
    A teenage Afghan asylum seeker was arrested on Friday for the alleged rape and murder of medical student in Freiburg which took place last month.

    The victim’s father is a senior EU official and a vehement supporter of the migrant policy that has seen over a million “refugees” pour into Germany over the last year. The aftermath of the murder was made even more bizarre by the fact that the victim’s parents used her funeral to raise money for charities that are working to bring more “refugees” into Germany. The victim herself was also a “refugee activist”.

    As if the story couldn’t get any more disturbing, the German government’s response was to warn German citizens who expressed anger over the incident on Facebook that it would be on the lookout for Islamophobic hate speech.

  16. Did you guys see about the failed actor who used an assault rifle to shoot a hole in the floor at Comet Pizza, the place democrats go for little Haitian cheese? The pedo scandal linked to Podesta.

    I don’t know if it’s a false flag BUT to me it’s amazing how the media can blame FAKE NEWS for a prius-driving actor walking into Comet Ping Pong with a gun and no one is shot, at the same time push all the literally fake narratives about white cops randomly shooting innocent honor student black students with their hands up in the streets, and not take any responsibility for ensuing violence

  17. On the theory that one should be as prepared as possible before wading into theological debates with PC apologists who want to make sloppy comparisons between the Jewish Bible, the Christian NT, and the Islamic Qur’an/hadiths, here’s a Muslim page that I found helpful.

    I’m not sure that it’s definitive, but I recommend it anyway because:

    * It’s written in clear English;
    * The original poster cites the Qur’an chapter-and-verse and invites others to submit citations from the hadiths (and someone does);
    * They distinguish between “Scripture” and “post-Scriptural jurisprudence”;
    * They remind people that you can’t jump to conclusions about “what Allah thinks of female homosexuality” based on gender-specific verses that only deal with male/male cases.

    Which is to say that it’s a good model of the right questions to ask, even if it’s not the last word on the topic.

    Comment by Throbert McGee — December 5, 2016 @ 3:18 pm - December 5, 2016

  18. PS. On the question of how reliable the hadiths (supposedly the exact words of Muhammad) are in comparison to the Qur’an (supposedly the exact words of Allah), my understanding of the situation is:

    When there are multiple hadiths attesting that Muhammad definitely said “So and so,” the assumption is that Muhammad had the authority to speak infallibly on matters not made clear by the Qur’an.

    However, if there’s only one or two hadiths reporting that Muhammad said “So and so,” there’s a theoretical possibility that Muhammad never actually said it, or that his phrasing was very different from what was reported — thus, a lot more gray area, and especially so if the reported Muhammad quote does not have clear Qur’anic support.

  19. Missing the point, here… *this time*, the Muzzies will be placated and will issue no more demands. The last 10,000 capitulations weren’t enough but this one, for sure.

  20. @19, Indeed. That’s how liberals do things: appeasement, going back at least to Chamberlain trying to appease Hitler. “If we just capitulate one more time, they’ll be placated. The worst thing we can do is tell them ‘no.’ That might make them really mad, and then who knows what they might do?”

    The liberals did the same thing when Reagan called the Soviet Union an “evil empire”: “You just don’t say things like that! You might make the Soviets really, really mad at us, and that’s the last thing we want!” And they’re doing it again with all the liberal hand-wringing over Trump and Taiwan: “Oh, no! He talked to the president of Taiwan? What will the Chinese think? You just don’t do those kinds of things! The Chinese might take offense, and that would be terrible, there’s no telling what the Chinese might do if they’re offended!”

    What I want to know is, why do we always have to pussy-foot around the Chinese worrying whether they will be offended? Why aren’t the Chinese ever worried about offending the Americans? Which country is the super power, anyway?

  22. It is important to remember the great unspoken military truth; there’s very little Mainland China can actually do and survive. China is like 1930’s Japan; massively dependent on imported energy, food and raw materials and on an export economy…almost entirely seaborne. How long can China survive without the endless steam of container ships and tankers before their own people revolt…or starve?

    The Anaconda Plan worked in the 1860’s against the Confederacy…and similarly against Japan in the 1940’s; blockage their ports, deny them shipping, and be willing to ‘machine-gun the lifeboats’ from an economic standpoint. How many foreign-flagged vessels would cross a US-declared ‘Cordon Sanitaire’ denied safe-passage and more importantly marine insurance?

    …And you don’t actually need to sink [many] ships, just be ruthlessly-willing to do so to make the point. We have 11 Virginia-class attack submarines and 43 Los Angeles-class in-commission, along with 4 Ohio-class SSGN surface-attack Tomahawk missile subs for close blockage and interdiction. And numerous carrier battle-groups and amphibious expeditionary groups to maintain watch over the distant choke points like the Sundra, Makassar and Lombok Straits and Singapore’s Malacca Strait.

    Attention Wal-Mart shoppers…
