The Founding Partner of TimeShareCMO (a San Francisco-based “data consultancy”) decided to lecture “middle America” (i.e. all people living farther than 50 km from a large coastal urban center) about how much they suck.
She was dismayed that Middle America didn’t take well to being lectured from a progressive leftist superior.
Note, she’s lecturing Middle America from a city where property crime is out of control and its virtually impossible for working class families to find decent housing.
I’ll wager zhe complains-privately at cocktail parties about her swarthy new neighbors driving-up the rents, dual-income gay couples taking the best apartments, and the dirty foreigners getting promotions zhe thinks zhe deserved.
…Scratch a soapbox SJW and reveal the seathing-bigot bleeding beneath.
Typical urban Liberal. Unable to understand that people locate where they choose & that we all have personal preferences. She’s a liar. Saying that people would love to live rural, basically if it wasn’t rural. She’s a child that didn’t like the farm & her daddy told her to get out.
I notice in new developments around my home that the houses are still the same size, but the lots are smaller, leaving the houses claustrophobically close to each other. Also, each and every one of these developments seems to have a couple specialty stores, a ritzy restaurant, and a gas station-cum-convenience store within the development. Supposedly, it’s because of rich city-dwellers who are moving out of the cities because of increasing crime, but can’t be bothered to go out among the hoi polloi for dinner and gas.
@chris_arnade (recommended follow), a knuckle-dragging Johns Hopkins Ph.D. (physics) and writer for the backwards, sky-god-fearing Guardian, has been spending his time familiarizing himself with the strange ways of the icky people of the hinterlands. And he’s finding that most of the icky people are pretty decent folks.
He retweeted this Higher Being’s statement last night (kindly as “not helpful”). Reading this woman’s comments made me angry – she drips with contempt and an unwarranted regard for her own intellect and usefulness.
There is nothing at all preventing people like her moving to inland socialist utopias like Chicago, Saint Louis, or KCMO – all with thoroughly Democrat-progressive government, high taxes, and “diverse” populations. I hear Ferguson has some deals on real estate these days. Hell, what’s wrong with Stockton or El Centro?
The conceit of this woman that “people like us” want “people like her” living amongst us, working diligently to make unclean places like this into places like SFO is delusional.
I’ve been to SFO on several occasions… the scenery is beautiful and the Golden Gate Bridge is a remarkable fete of engineering and a thing of beauty but I found the city over-crowded, dirty, and having more than its share of SF-grade-icky people.

There are lefties smart enough to know that they don’t know everything:
I’ve spent a lot of time in gun-country, God-fearing America. There are a hell of a lot of nice people out there, who are doing what everyone else in this world is trying to do: the best they can to get by, and take care of themselves and the people they love. When we deny them their basic humanity and legitimacy of their views, however different they may be than ours, when we mock them at every turn, and treat them with contempt, we do no one any good. Nothing nauseates me more than preaching to the converted. The self-congratulatory tone of the privileged left—just repeating and repeating and repeating the outrages of the opposition—this does not win hearts and minds. It doesn’t change anyone’s opinions. It only solidifies them, and makes things worse for all of us. We should be breaking bread with each other, and finding common ground whenever possible. I fear that is not at all what we’ve done.

apparently dumb asses live everyone
Haha…I saw this first on Twitter and then on Twitchy; I thought it would make a great GP post. So glad V got my psychic voicemail!
I was going to interact with this female twit on Twitter, and then I decided it was a waste of my time. Turns out from the blowback she got, all the rebuttals went way over her head. She’s a living example of the parable about the frog in the pot of water on the stove. The heat keeps getting turned up little by little in her admittedly flawed utopian paradise and she keeps saying “This is fine.” One day she will be a victim of her surroundings [like Kate Steinle], but by then it will be too late.
@ V the K: Because public urination is frowned upon by a lot of people in Middle America, and anything Middle America thinks is bad must be good. Besides, it’s just urine coming out of a guy’s penis, stop being such a sexually-repressed prude!
Yeah, she likes rural—as long as there’s a Whole Foods and/or food co-op within a few miles, and none of these dinky “health food stores”; she wants a full-service Whole Foods. Add to that a farmer’s market every weekend of the year. Maybe a Tesla charging station nearby…and a decent feminist bookstore. Plus a bunch of other mostly-urban amenities. That, plus a view unobstructed by wind turbines, solar panels (unless on roofs), oil derricks and plenty of lovely wildlife: coyotes, raccoons, skunks, and maybe even a wolf pair or two (what us deplorables call “predators”).
Or Compton. Housing prices are pretty reasonable there, for SoCal.
You forgot to mention the pee. I’ve been to SF at least once almost every decade in the past three decades and that is one thing that hasn’t changed. (Actually, unlike NYC, not much has changed about SF at all, save for the price increases in basic goods & services and increasing over-regulation [ahem, ‘bag tax’].)
• middle america = shithole with stupid people.
• middle america towns = no infrastructure, some bars, terrible school system
• middle america must clean up its act = attract educated people, build fiber internet, elect Progressives to run things.
• middle america must not tolerate the people that we educated, fiber internet dependent, Progressive, diversity loving people finger as deplorable.
• WARNING — Everyone who is not like us in a bigot and a Neanderthal pushing backward ideologies and are shithole-dwelling stupid people. YOU HAVE BEEB WARNED. Now fall down and die or be prepared for the educated people’s Caliphate of Progressive Tolerance and Diversity to sweep you off the pages of history.
That is all.
Exposure to someone else’s urine is a basic human right there. The ex-mayor (and current Lieutenant Governor of CA) first got elected because of support of small business owners like himself (at the time) who got tired of the mentality that the “urge to go” shall not be obstructed and the right to relieve oneself is indeed a basic human right. The fact that it happens to be on a public street or sidewalk or on a wall or a side of a building or in the middle of a public park matters not, if there isn’t a free indoor place to do so when the urge strikes.
I was in SF a year-and-a-half ago at the same time that the city Public Works Department was testing a liquid-repelling paint first tested with success outside a beer hall in Germany which results in any liquid being applied to it at an angle becoming reflected back approximately 3-6 inches from the surface. In the case of an active urinator, they end up wetting their footwear or pant legs. An acquaintance who manages a business in The Castro was elated by the prospect.
One of the local TV news crews did a story on the experiment and did a man-on-the-street interview with a non-vagrant Black dude who said “Well, if I encounter that, I’ll just go somewhere else where there isn’t that paint.” That’s the mentality there. Not, “Oh, I shouldn’t be doing this activity”, but “I’ll just do this activity somewhere else.”
The problem with San Francisco is not that urine-soaked bums and subway stations and their ilk exist, or that they have “nowhere else to go”, but that those who create the problem feel they have a right to do whatever they wish, without encumbrance or protest by anyone else. It’s what happens when the live-and-let-live philosophy is taken to its [illogical] extreme.
She’s assuming we hicks want to attract people like her. Minorities, no problem. Nothing wrong with diversity. But smarmy elitists we can manage just fine without.
And as a footnote, my rural county was one of the first nationwide to adopt fiber and still has some of the fastest in the world. There’s no contradiction between knowing how to maintain a tractor and being able to put together a fiber network. I wonder if Miss Technologically Superior has ever changed her own oil.
Any wonder why, having grown up in SF when it was a beautiful working class multi-ethnic city of neighborhoods, I can’t wait to move to the middle America SF once was? These self-righteous, self-agrandizing thoroughly indoctrinated shitheads have turned SF into a pisspot for their political idiocy.
Damn, this sounds like something one of our resident trolls would say. Oh, wait…
Regards,
Peter H.
she reminds me of the people in new york that live with five locks on their doors and bars on their windows lecturing people that don’t have to lock their door at night about how bad you hicks have it.
I concur.
Here, in the Bay Area, we got the bestest of the best freaking retarded societal suicide leftists one can imagine.
Dear God help me to stay resilient and patient enough to safely get the f*ck out of here as soon as possible for my family.
Send that clown over to crime-ridden Oakland.
Ummm,did I miss something?
I haven’t heard anyone saying “If only we could attract some West Coast businesses here in the Midwest”,we’d be doing great.
Me thinks the lady doth protest too much.
Or maybe she just wanted an excuse to do some name calling because Trump won?
Translation: “My life sucks; but, at least I am not you”
And, middle-America is glad for that.
” . . . dealing with bigots and backward ideologies every day.”
Oh honey, that’s why I don’t live in San Francisco.
When people talk about rural people “voting against their interests” what they really mean is the rural people are voting against the interests of the moron who made the comment.
