Hard Out There for Low-Skilled Workers

Hillary and Obama’s aides are disappointed. They had expected… with Hillary’s victory… that they would get plush jobs writing regulations (i.e. telling us how to live) and other jobs fulfilling the Federal Government’s primary mission of advancing the values and fortunes of Democrats.

But it didn’t quite work out the way they planned, and now they despair of finding work in a Washington that is not as much under Left-Wing Democratic rule as it has been.

“It feels like there are just thousands of us trying to find a job, and there are no jobs,” longtime Clinton aide Mira Patel, who worked for Clinton in her Senate, State Department and 2016 campaign offices, told the outlet.

“People are in shock,” said Anastasia Kessler-Dellaccio, 35, who quit her job at Sister Cities International to run Foreign Policy Professionals for Hillary.

Maybe they should take the Democrats have given to coal miners displaced by Democrat environmental policies, or manufacturing workers whose jobs went to more business-friendly countries because of Democrat taxes and regulations: They should go to a community college and retrain for the “jobs of tomorrow.” Surely, if they can write detailed ‘health care policy statements,’ they can make it as medical transcriptionists. If they can write environmental regulations, they ought to be able to manage standing outside the local recycling center in a neon green vest tell people to dump their plastics in the blue bin and their metals in the yellow bin.

  1. I couldn’t have put it better.

So, let’s have them give a try at performing on the markets now, shall we? :)

  3. I would say their shock is just self-denial but these people have been using subtle psyche propaganda to further their now-fleeing master’s wishes. So, I would assume their confusion is a simple attention getting ruse, fishing for someone, anyone to give them options. Perhaps, if their now-deflating master had focused on the economy & America First, instead of taxes, climate hoaxes, attempts at healthcare socialization & promoting gender confusion in children; there would be a plethora of Lib-oriented opportunities awaiting their descent into civilian status.

Suicide was an acceptable alternative to failure, disgrace or futility in the ancient Roman world. Maybe…

  4. Many on both the left and right have been aghast at the appointees so far in the upcoming Trump Administration from a person who promised to “drain the swamp”. Yet in the strictest sense, I think this is what he was talking about: put the public policy leeches of recent years out on their keisters and into the real world.

In the last couple of weeks a young journalist on Twitter was remarking about all the changes that are occurring at the present time as if the current era was on par with the Fall Of Rome or something. When someone asked her where she was eight years ago, she replied “I was 13.”

So it is with many of the people mentioned in the POLITICO article who are finding their world rocked in ways they haven’t imagined: they first went to work for Hillary after the 2006 elections and then either gravitated towards the Half-Black Messiah, or worked in ancillary roles with like-minded organizations until it was Hillary’s turn once again. They have no reference point outside of the last takeover by the Democrats and thus no experience with the world which isn’t funded by government largess or sugar daddy grants.

Now they get to find out what the average person their age and beyond experiences: one needs to move where the jobs are and you might have to take a job (or two, or three) for which you believe you are vastly overqualified and underpaid. Welcome to life, cupcakes.

  6. It would be good for these brats to work in real jobs in the real world, where there are no safe spaces or trigger warnings. They might learn more valuable life lessons working in a fast food restaurant than they ever did in college.

  7. They thought they’d be handed the Keys to the Kingdom. Instead they’re unemployable…and tainted. And with that attitude, they’ll be in the Wilderness for a decade or more. By then their skill sets and contacts will be stale and irrevalent.

Bwahhahhah…. “Do you want fries with that?”

  8. Hillary and the Community Organizer mindset types see endless openings for proper-thinking folks as official government employees. Anyone can be trained to fulfill their outcome based level of workload. If all they can do is watch porn, then that is their job. After all, folks, it isn’t brain surgery. Take them off of well-fare and put them on taxpayer funded work-fare!!! Also, SEIU them and skim their taxpayer paid salaries for dues and skim the dues for party “contributions.”

  9. The article makes light of it, but the title hits the mark. There is a growing shortage of job opportunities for low skilled and low educated workers. Manufacturing used to require large numbers of semi skilled machine operators and other drudges. Many of these jobs are no more. And many of them won’t come back. Robotic manufacturing techniques have eliminated the need for many skilled machinists and millwrights, as well as for mopes with spray guns, welding torches, and air wrenches.

It’s not just the outsourcing of work to China and Mexico. Modern robotics can do many jobs cheaper than even Chinese labor. They are losing jobs to machines.

It probably won’t happen in our lifetime, but we need to come to an understanding of what to do with all these excess people. The existence of a vast pool of unemployable people who have to be fed and kept tranquil, is practically a given.

    Panem et circenses.

Hey welcome to Obamanation! Just what do they think the rest of us have been doing for the last 8 years?
