Good Riddance

Every Obama speech is the same; a tedious, self-serving arrangement of empty platitudes, burning strawmen, and lies. The Democrat Media Complex gushes over each one the next day like it was the greatest speech in human history, and then it’s forgotten the day after that. It is symbolic that the President’s ‘farewell’ speech was delivered in a literal echo chamber.

Front Page has a good rundown of the dishonesty, megalomania, and tedious retreads of old left-wing talking points that made up this particular speech The author notes that Chicago was also a perfectly symbolic setting for this President to give the last official speech of his presidency; the city is a petri dish of the same failed radical policies Obama attempted to impose, with different levels of success, on the country as a whole.

Of course Chicago was an appropriate locale for the goodbye address. It’s a violent one-party city that is collapsing under the weight of its own corruption.

Ruled by his former White House chief of staff, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, in 2016 there were 762 murders in Chicago, more than all the murders recorded that year in New York City and Los Angeles combined. There were 4,331 people shot in Chicago in 2016, up from 3,550 in 2015, in a city where politicians blame inanimate objects, instead of criminals, for homicides and work relentlessly to deprive helpless residents of their Second Amendment rights.

Chicago is also a so-called sanctuary city that goes out of its way to shield illegal aliens from immigration authorities and make their lives as comfortable as possible at the expense of everyone else. Obama protégé Emanuel is a strident, in-your-face supporter of the sanctuary city movement that gave illegal aliens permission to rob, rape, and murder Americans.

Chicago’s debt has junk-bond status and residents are fleeing the city in droves in search of greener pastures. It is also home to failing public schools made worse by the militant, rapacious Chicago Teachers Union and spectacularly unsuccessful public housing complexes.

They should really just rename Chicago “Obama City.”

  1. “the city is a petri dish of the same radical policies Obama attempted to impose,…” every inner-city in America resembles a communist country. you have the murals of the leaders, the slogans written on the walls of the buildings. there is little or no private enterprise, just about everything is built by the government. you have the indolent people sitting around wallowing in the welfare state. the very same people whom if the rest of the country(the evil part)ever embraced their leftist political ideology would find them selves in forced labor camps. these are inner-cites are where every idea that liberal America espouses are practiced. if liberal America were correct about the ideas the espouse the inner-cities would the shining lights of the entire world instead of the cesspools of the country.

  2. And yet our resident trolls probably find nothing at all wrong with either Chicago’s crime rate or its corrupt bureaucracy. SMH…

  4. It was a sad party and the echo was especially sad. A party of noise and delusion for an individual of all sound and no substance. Nothing will be remember of Obama, but that he was the first black American to have filled the office of President. Nothing more – but an echo of noise. For myself – I didn’t finish watching it. There was just – noise.

In case you’re wondering why this story dropped off the radar so quickly. As soon as the connection to Islam was discovered, it became a hot potato.

  10. Poor al-Cray-da is desperately trying to be relevant. SMH…

However, SnObama’s claims that job growth over his tenure has been at a record pace is only by cherry-picking the data. In 2008, 66% of the population was participating in the workforce. Today the rate is at 63%, which is a more accurate reflection of the condition of our economy.

Over the past eight years, the US economy hasn’t even grown enough to keep up with our increased population. As a result, poverty has increased, food stamps and other government benefits have increased and the general dissatisfaction with government has skyrocketed.

There’s your hope-and-change, Miss Thang. You own it.

So wouldn’t that mean the spike in late 2008 was actually worse than people made it out to be if you compare it to previous years (as the population rose)?

  13. Didn’t watch/listen to Obama for the last time. As far as I am concerned his lasting legacy is those 4 black thugs torturing that mentally challenged white guy. THAT is what Obama encouraged during his 8 years – hate whitey with all you got!

Now let him and Moochelle move to Hawaii and then we need to give Hawaii its independence; go back to being 49 states.

  15. They should really just rename Chicago “Obama City.”

Well now, they can’t go that far; there is some tradition worth upholding. But never fear, I predict that within ten years or so, there will be multiple Barack H. Obama buildings (including as many schools as they can get away with, without creating confusion), plus a street or parkway or drive—or even a portion of an Interstate highway. Why should Dwight Eisenhower and Jane Addams get all the honors?

  19. There has been at least a letter to the editor in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser (the main paper in Hawaii) to name the Honolulu International Airport after the Golfer in Chief.

I think it’s a horrible idea, and would make me even less likely to want to fly here. (It a long flight from the East Coast.)

  23. I’ve never heard anyone of substance refer to Mrs Obongo Obama as classy. What I wonder is, will the female remember to find & pack her sleeves as they evacuate the White House, just before the industrial steam cleaners arrive. I’m sure they’ll forget that they’ve been used as leggings, albeit too short, for their dog.

I don’t say such things. “charles” does. Oh, and Hanover. “Mrs Obongo Obama” lol

On here and in conversation and writing, I refer to Trump as “Trump,” “President Elect Trump,” and after the inauguration, I’ll continue to refer to him as “Trump” or “President Trump,” just as I refer to Bush II, as “Bush II,” “Bush Jr,” “George W,” or “W,” or Bill Clinton as “Bill Clinton,” etc. It’s quite simple, actually.

  25. “Moochelle” because she and her family did nothing but spend OUR tax dollars on their fancy vacations while the rest of the people lost jobs, lost homes, lost real wages and the country basically went broke.

Not one bit of concern for the average American from those two. So, yea, I’m “classy” by calling her a name that fits her Maria Antoinette* attitude. So what?

*actually that’s something of a slur to the real Maria Antoinette to compare her to the Obamas.

  26. @5

And lo and behold, btw, the slander done by Jean-Jacques POS Rousseau (*) (almost worshiped on the left) about Marie Antoinette eventually got busted — (what a surprise, or what?)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Let_them_eat_cake

After 200+ years of an ever-repeated and widespread lie against her memory, that was about time, I guess.

(*) Yeah, the same who was free loading on his friends with nobility-guilt, and abandoned wife AND children while lecturing generations to come about the virtues and shortcomings of human nature. Oh, heya Marxist useful idiots, ‘rings a bell?
