Another Day, Another Riot

February 1, 2017 by V the K

Leftists at the University of California at Berkeley did not like the words that Milo Yiannopoulos had come to their campus to say. So, they smashed property and set things on fire.

The Berkeley Police Department said people threw bricks, smoking objects, and fireworks at police officers. University police locked down all buildings and ordered a shelter in place, and later fired rubber pellets into the crowd of protesters who defied orders to leave the area.

“This is what tolerance looks like at UC Berkeley,” said Mike Wright, a Berkeley College Republican member said as smoke bombs went off around him. Someone threw red paint on him. “It’s sad.”
As protesters yelled obscenities at police, others toppled a generator and light pole police had set up, spray painting “Milo” with an x through it. Later on, they lit it on fire, gas spilling with abandon as the growing flames licked a nearby tree on the side of the building.

From their backpacks, they hurled dozens of fireworks — some screaming past others in the crowd — as Berkeley’s usually peaceful protesters vented their frustration. The more peaceful had carried signs, “We reject a fascist America,” and derided Yiannopoulos as a mouthpiece for President Trump.

With each day that passes, it becomes harder for anyone to defend the Democratic (Socialist) Left as a non-violent movement.  Although it’s cute the way the reporter tries to distinguish between the violent and “peaceful” protesters… as though they are not on the same team with the same goal (and the same hateful intolerance).

The Fascists on the left paying these useful idiots are trying to provoke a reaction. It will snowball from there into something none of us want. Self-defense is one thing. Being in the middle of these “protests” trying to defend your point of view is stupid and unnecessary. Let the police deal with these fools.

Let the police deal with these fools.

Yeah, but that’s not as likely to happen these days. Thanks to ever-present recording devices, a 24-hour news and social media cycle, and changing mores, all LEOs who attempt to restore order are jack-booted thugs of the state (that would now be Donald Trump’s state, not, of course Jerry Brown’s state) who are bringing real-life fascism to their community.

Remember the sit-ins that were around the Occupy protests when the Chief Wiggum-esque campus cop was caught streaming pepper spray into the face of a layabout (I want to say it was UC/Davis, but it could have been UC/Beserkley)? It became an Internet meme faster than you can say “Hillary Lost”. Unfortunately, that opportunity is just what many of these “largely peaceful protestors” want and they won’t stop until they get that moment.

But one of these days a President Trump will force the wringing hands of a wimpy governor to order out the National Guard and then they will get their butts kicked. There will be disproportionate outrage, but a grateful and weary nation tired of the thumb-sucking whiners will cheer. And no amount of lawsuits will negate the action.

We’ve seen this movie. Nothing illustrates the Left’s lack of a vision for the future more than their need to continually revisit the past.

I bet a lot of these are spoiled cuddled students majoring in worthless degrees and have very little marketable skills.

I think Mr. Yiannopoulos should schedule a monthly appearance at Berkeley. Whoever is funding the “protests ” may run out of funds. The fools may get tired of protesting on a regular basis because it’s too much like work or eventually Berkeley is closed because there is nothing left to burn or break. Plus the monthly scenes of rioting will serve to confirm the increasing banality and vacuity of the Left.

I am concerned for the college Republicans who sponsor these appearances. The thugs are quite likely to take names and turn on the individuals who have identified as “the enemy.”

The first person to throw a punch in an argument automatically loses it. So guess what Leftists: you’ve lost.

So, these homophobic and xenophobic lefties/anarchists riot out of fear of letting a gay Brit onto their precious campus? Tolerant crowd, aren’t they?

As RSG points out, cops don’t want to end up starring in the next viral video. That’s one thing that contributes to the explosion of violence in places like Chicago.

If higher-ups vigorously defended the police (when they act lawfully, of course), the coppers would be more likely to do their duty (no use of force looks good on camera no matter the circumstance).

What needs to happen is for some of these “students” to be arrested for felony riot, arson, assault with a deadly weapon (flammables) and for prosecutors to make the charges stick.

Some of these snowflakes, facing prison time and felonies on their records, would serve as a warning.

If the fools want to protest lawfully, fine. But once they get violent, there should be zero tolerance. As it is, a 6-yo with a gun-shaped Pop-Tart faces greater consequences then these thugs.

Unfortunate it the Police won’t act; their political leadership is entirly rock-rib Democrats, their senior officers are appointed by the same Democratic politicians, and the rank and file are all members of public employee unions upon whom they are dependent for legal representation should they be accused of over-stepping.

If ordered to stand aside, they will let it burn…

“…people threw bricks, smoking objects, and fireworks at police officers.” does john lewis think these protestors violated the officers civil rights? does anyone on the left think there were creating a hostile work environment for the officers?

Follow the money – and then shut it off.

The following schools are scheduled to play at UC Berkeley this fall: Weber State, Ole Miss, USC, Washington State, Arizona, and Oregon State.

There’s no reason these schools should risk sending their football teams to a campus where violent students can’t even tolerate one gay guy. It last night was how they react to opposing ideas, what will they do to opposing football teams?

And there’s no reason UC Berkeley should be allowed to profit from football ticket sales. It’s time for the NCAA needs to take action to protect the players of opposing schools.

But come on guys, he’s a neo-Nazi! He thinks we should keep some people out of our country, and that’s totally what Hitler wanted, right?

These people are not protestors. They are literally domestic terrorists. And they need to be treated as such.

These people are not protestors. They are literally domestic terrorists. And they need to be treated as such.

And rumor has it they are paid protestors at that, and not students at UCB (according to the Twitters). Perhaps a responsible media operation could practice some investigative journalism and see who’s fronting them.

Oh, who am I kidding? The investigative media is still trying to figure out why Betsy DeVos hasn’t paid a campaign violation that she wasn’t responsible for and how many gallons of used motor oil Rex Tillerson flushed down his bathroom toilet.
