So, the SuperBowl is not only going to feature two teams I couldn’t care less about, but also a Halftime Lecture on Social Justice from Lady Gaga? Oh, man, I can’t wait… to make a big batch of Chili and spend all day playing ‘Space Engineers.’
The Internet home for American gay conservatives.
I shall do something productive during the half-time show. Perhaps clean the Toilet Bowl.
Puppy Bowl!! Animal Planet!
Usually I watch the Super Bowl for the commercials, but this year, even those sound like they’re political. Maybe I will check into the Puppy Bowl.
If Kittens are more your speed, the Hallmark channel usually does a Kitten Bowl.
Thank the Gods for the Golf Channel; the Phoenix Open in the afternoon and Dubai Desert Classic reruns in the evening, YAY!!
I’m boycotting the pre-released ads, and I’ll read about the ad reviews and ratings in Monday’s USA-Today. (One of the few times each year I buy that sorry rag…)
All true conservatives need to cut the cord for cable.
But only as long as we have a fast internet connection…
Did it before it was cool (though in my remote area, it was actually the satellite dish). The transition to DTV, which resulted in three digital signals before the transition and zero afterwards, accelerated my escape from live TV. Found out that I didn’t quite miss it as much as I thought I would (satellite radio helped, so my cable news habits could be sustained).
And thus is the miracle of 4G LTE. Can watch live local news from all over the country (and even locally, from the stations who won’t up their OTA signal game, if I want to indulge in cringeworthy amateur productions), some network news & entertainment programs, and—a recent addition—many network and cable programs via Hulu. All from the comfort of my bed, if I desire.
The cable cos. are trying to shed their image as the poster children for bad customer service and high consumer prices by rebranding their end services under new names (hence why Comcast’s service is now “Xfinity” and Charter’s is “Spectrum”), but in the end, they are becoming the coin-operated telephones of the 21st century. They will be around (more people now use them as ISPs than TV providers), but their influence will dwindle.
Just watched the halftime show. It was actually decent – Lady Gaga kept her comments Constitutional (mentioned that the US is for all regardless of race, creed, etc.) and actually started with snippets of a couple patriotic songs. I though she’d go full anti-Trump SJW, but kept it restrained.
Do anything cool in Space Engineers? I played heavily modded Minecraft — while loading it said it loaded 90,000 recipes.
