People are not taught that the national highway system was originally conceived as a national defense project, not so you could commute to work in less time or travel to grandma’s place for the holidays. There is a reason most overpasses are at height of 16 feet or so.
Before Eisenhower, Dallas, TX had already started some toll road projects to bring highways to that area all without the ‘help’ of the feds.

In the 1970’s and 1980’s, the Democrats were proposing infrastructure projects to create jobs. So they must all be Hitler, too.

My memory is foggy but didn’t BHO preside over some sort of infrastructure spending? I think it was called “stimulus” and led to the discovery that “shovel-ready” meant something other than shovel-ready.

This really should sober up Trump supporters. Also, did you know both Trump and Hitler wrote books? Also, both tried to start violent rebellions from beer halls. Well, I know Hitler did. Thump must also have done that.

#3 I know this one, and how you had to have a mile stretch of straight road every ten miles or so to provide aircraft a landing strip.

Near my house is a short stretch of otherwise innocuous county road with little traffic that’s built as a four-lane widely-divided highway with a massive 16″ concrete roadbed and a , extra-heavy stone sub-base. Why??
It’s the 10-mile connector between the NJ Turnpike and Joint-Base Maguire Dix Lakehurst built to get tanks and heavy trucks to-and-from Ft. Dix to the Turnpike. Some of the locals refer to it as “The Tank Road”. I have little doubt it can handle aircraft from the adjacent Maguire AFB as its straight as an arrow for two 4-miles, straight into the main gate of the base, and it misses all of the local towns between.
Joint-Base MDL is one of the few east-coast bases that has constituent units from all the armed services under one command — Army, USAF, Navy and Marine Corps — as well as an USAF transport wing and a tanker wing.

The Dems are encouraging Trump to spend money on infrastructure, so this makes no sense.

The interstates were originally built so the large trucks with nuclear missiles could move around the country more easily.

My uncle was a corporal when he was in the Army, so he must be Hitler.
And I’m a non-smoker and a vegetarian, so I must be Hitler.
