ICYMI, PDT this weekend accused outgoing POTUS Barack Obama of spying on him, which the Democrat Media Complex was quick to deny on Obama’s behalf. No way would ex-President Boyfriend ever do such a thing, and Trump was deranged for even suggesting it.
What is the standard of proof the Democrats are demanding to back up the allegation that Obama spied on Trump. Follow up question: What is the standard of proof Democrats used to conclude as fact that Russia hacked the election to install Trump as his puppet so Soviet tanks can roll down Main Street and take over our precious bodily fluids because it’s 1956 and the Red Menace is back again, baby?
Bear in mind, this is Barack Obama we are talking about. This is a guy who won his senate seat because his political operatives got a judge to release salacious details from an opponent’s divorce records. This is a guy who vastly expanded NSA spying and lied to Congress about the extent of it. This is a guy who used Federal agencies like the EPA and the IRS against his political opponents. This is a guy whose White House operation admitted to manipulating the press with propaganda so that his administration could help a hostile foreign Government access billions in American taxpayer dollars. This is a guy who used Government intelligence agencies to spy on journalists.
So, yeah, using Government Intelligence agencies to spy on a political opponent would be entirely consistent with Obama’s history and modus operandi.
Oh, by the way, Obama’s intelligence operations sought and got a FISA warrant to spy on Trump throughout 2016.
The Democrat Media Narrative hangs on a narrow, technical definition of “wiretap” (physically implanting a listening device on a telephone landline, which is almost never done anymore because who uses landlines) to provide Obama an out. But was Donald Trump under surveillance by the Obama administration; it’s highly plausible.
Technically, Obama did not wire tap Trump, based on the definition of “wire tap” meaning physically connecting an electronic listening device to a land line.
In other words, Obama’s spies did not inhale.
I suspect that one reason Pres. Trump has key meeting at Mar-a-Lago is it’s less likely to be surveilled by the Deep State than the White House, and it precludes the “keyhole listeners” having access. Mar-a-Lago and to a lesser degree Trump Tower is home turf and the Trump controls the innermost-security sphere. And it’s very difficult to surveil “private” discussions on a golf-course, especially with an airport nearby.
I would be disappointed — but not surprised — if every room in the White House, including the Oval Office and the Presidential Quarters were wired for sound and video by the Deep State.
Note that the much-foretold reconstruction of the Oval Office and the West Wing has not started.
Hi V the K,
Why doesn’t President Trump give us copies of the FISA warrant requests that the Obama must have asked for to “wiretap” Donald trump? Wouldn’t that prove your point beyond the shadow of a doubt? No need for speculation, right? The President has the power to declassify whatever he wants, so why not do that? That would be crushing to the Dems on so many levels, wouldn’t it?
As I said in an earlier comment:
“You have to be worried that the President of the US is acting this way making wild claims without any proof, looking for evidence. And the silence here is deafening. If a Democratic President did this against an outgoing Republican President, you would blow a complete fuse; at the very least, label it a potential “abuse of power.” And you are not. You want an example of an “authoritarian impulse”? This is one. You wait here, hoping for some evidence, any evidence of wrong doing by Obama, to ABSOLVE you of any responsibility for supporting this mockery. ”
Oh, look, a travel ban ….
Hi V the K,
What is your point? Evidence? Want to answer the question about why Trump doesn’t present the evidence? He is the President isn’t he? Or did he–dear god–forget that?
OK, but seriously, V the K?????
Moving what goalposts? Speculation is not evidence. AND you cannot give a sensible rationale for why DT won’t release the evidence since he can do so as President. He said he has it. Or will we be waiting for the next pretzel rationalization from the right leaning web to make that elephant problem go bye-bye. Walk away if you want, but you and I both know that if the roles had been reversed …
At least you have the good grace to stop trying to defend this steaming pile to me.
Hayes of The Weekly Standard is now saying DT didn’t even know if what he was saying was true at the time. Don’t you think we have to hold the Office of the President to an higher standard than “pulling it out of his butt” in a tweet, early Saturday morning?
Oh look! A reworked travel ban …
Dr Carson:
While speaking with his employees on Monday, Ben Carson made a baffling claim that seemingly likened slaves to immigrants. Calling the United States a “land of dreams and opportunity,” the newly confirmed housing and urban development secretary said, “There were other immigrants who came here in the bottom of slave ships, worked even longer, even harder for less.” He added: “They too had a dream that one day their sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, great grandsons, great granddaughters might pursue prosperity and happiness in this land.” It’s unclear what the retired neurosurgeon meant by the suggestion that immigrants came over on slave ships.
so the same “journalists” that Obama spied on are now saying that Obama would never do anything as dastardly as spy on trump.
“Because the Obama Administration was tapping his phone calls and leaked them.”
You do realize, V the K, that the Intelligence services could have been bugging Russian phone calls, and happened to pick up Flynn, talking to the Russians, right?
Also, its right out of The Onion: President Requests Congress to Force Him to Release Records that He Refuses to Release Voluntarily… President Trump, citing a personality split, argued strongly that Congress force him to divulge information that would prove his case, because he is incapable of doing so himself. “I cannot bring myself to do this act; I tremble before the enormity of what I must do. …
On a lighter note, maybe we get the truth that DT was bugged, and its a total clusterf**k for Dems. And / Or, maybe, DT has just asked Congress to ask a whole bunch of people itching to speak on the record about this Russian contacts with the Trump amigos situation. Having to share information with their Democrat colleagues in the Committees, listen to intelligence officers give briefings, listening to what Flynn said, what others said, … I mean, what could possibly go wrong with that strategy? That couldn’t possibly be bad for Republicans could it? It is all down hill for Democrats now…
Piss Cas, you and your Obama just screamed yesterday that no one had ever been wiretapped and that there were no calls being recorded.
And yet here you are admitting that you and your Obama wiretapped Flynn and other Trump associates in hope of catching them talking to Russians.
You admit that Obama wiretapped. Furthermore, you admit that Obama did not have permission to wiretap and that he did so for purely opportunistic purposes for political ammunition.
You have convicted Obama of a crime. Will you repudiate Obama’s crimes now, Piss Cas, or will you continue to try to contort and spin to get out of your lies?
You have admitted that Democrats like you endorse and support the use of spy resources to spy on Americans for political purposes. Will you repudiate your actions, Piss Cas, or will you admit that the party in power — now Trump and the GOP — have the right to spy on and exploit all the resources of the state against Democrats?
Come, Piss Cas. Spin for us.
Piss Cas, why won’t you and your leakers produce proof of Trump’s collusion with the Russians?
Oh right — because Trump just outed the fact that any evidence you produce was a) illegally gathered, b) illegally disseminated and c) used domestic resources to spy on political opponents.
So what would you like, Piss Cas? Scream about Russians and admit you broke the law, or admit that you lied about Russians and told public lies to smear Trump?
I am hoping Trump has irrefutable evidence and is just waiting for the Demoncrats to work themselves in a tizzy and then he releases the Intel. BAM.. the media complex completely destroyed and the Obama legacy is further tarnished. Perhaps that would even shut Schumer up.
Cas and their ever shrinking minority are too stupid to realize just how self destructive their methods are. Bully for them..
tnnsne1, NDT has it right @ #14. The DemonizingRats have been beating this Russia/Trump drum every day and in every way.
Trump has tossed some tweets into the game and now they are going crazy. So, the DemonizingRats are demanding that he release all the intelligence data in order to prove his case.
Howsabout they just earn their “truth” the old-fashioned way? They can investigate it to death. Why does intelligence have to be declassified for these clowns?
Howsabout President Trump set up an intelligence community witch hunt to ferret out bad actors?
Howsabout President Trump set up a “plug the leaks” witch hunt to ferret out the leakers and send charge them?
Suppose President Trump looks at all the intelligence and makes a report that says he was dead right. That would please and quiet the DemonizingRats, right?
North Dallas Thirty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I missed you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much. I worried that you had been banned. Or died. And I felt sad. but you are here. And I feel glad!!!!!!
🙂 🙂 🙂
How are feeling? 🙂 🙂 How has life been for you? Well I hope.
Anyway, I will ask you the same questions I have asked everyone else:
Why doesn’t President Trump give us copies of the FISA warrant requests that the Obama must have asked for to “wiretap” Donald Trump? Wouldn’t that prove your point beyond the shadow of a doubt? No need for speculation, right? The President has the power to declassify whatever he wants, so why not do that? That would be crushing to the Dems on so many levels, wouldn’t it? Why not do it North Dallas Thirty???
Why exactly shouldn’t the following apply to you North Dallas Thirty?
“You have to be worried that the President of the US is acting this way making wild claims without any proof, looking for evidence. And the silence here is deafening. If a Democratic President did this against an outgoing Republican President, you would blow a complete fuse; at the very least, label it a potential “abuse of power.” And you are not. You want an example of an “authoritarian impulse”? This is one. You wait here, hoping for some evidence, any evidence of wrong doing by Obama, to ABSOLVE you of any responsibility for supporting this mockery. ”
On top of that North Dallas Thirty: At what point are you going to say–“Hmm, the behavior of the President… now that is a little worrisome,” or will you never reach that point no matter what he does, as long as he delivers on the things you want? How high a price are you willing to pay for those things?
Hi tnnsne1
“I am hoping Trump has irrefutable evidence and is just waiting for the Demoncrats to work themselves in a tizzy and then he releases the Intel. BAM.. the media complex completely destroyed and the Obama legacy is further tarnished. … Cas and their ever shrinking minority are too stupid to realize just how self destructive their methods are. Bully for them.”
That must be it–just like all the other things that DT said–like that silliness about molesting women, etc… But what will you do, tnnsne1, if he doesn’t have what you want and your wish remains unfulfilled? And it just looks like he shot his mouth off without knowing what was going on–something he is known for, by the way. I ask you the same questions I have asked Heliotrope, V the K, and North Dallas Thirty. I would love to hear your insights.
Nice accent you have, Cas. Which communist, oops, Socialist European, country are you from?
Hi Lobogris,
“Nice accent you have, Cas. Which communist, oops, Socialist European, country are you from?”
A different one from you I suspect! 🙂
Feel free to ponder the questions I asked above, Lobogris, if you would like.
And there he goes agsin, shifting the goal posts.
Hi The_Livewire,
I’ll add you to the list of folks who I invite to answer the same questions.
Rusty cuts’n’pastes @ #9:
Ah the sweet mystery of pretending that words only have the meanings that serve your purpose.
The slaves were black people captured by other black people and instead of eaten, slaughtered, raped or enslaved nearby, they were dragged to the coast and sold largely to Dutch sea captains and brought them in chains to the Caribbean or Brazil. There they were bred and put on the market to be dragged to North America as their geographical position in slavery.
An “emigrant” is a person who leaves his country to settle permanently in another country. That term tacitly implies choice. If a person flees his country for safety, he is a “refugee.” But each are “immigrants.” The first known use of the word “immigrant” was in 1789. That was the same year the Constitution of the United States of America was written and adopted.
Article I, section 9:
Notice that the word “immigrant” is missing. It hadn’t made its way to common usage. Notice also that “migration” is cited which tacitly implies choice on the part of the migrant and it is balanced by the word “imported” which tacitly implies a “good” to be sold. Slavery is not mentioned. Certainly, the educated reader is aware of children being “indentured” or “apprenticed” or placed in peonage during this age. Mostly, they came from England, France and particularly Germany, Italy and Spain. They were generally “white” chattel.
The great “Negro Spirituals” were composed and sung mainly by slaves in the South who were dreaming of freedom. Because they were slaves, they didn’t waste time trying to figure out how to emigrate. But they could only be classified as immigrants. Just the same as the highly vaunted “dreamers” whose parents stole into the country and dragged them along as children or gave birth to them here.
Dr. Carson is a very brave man to attempt to soften the language concerning slavery. He probably does not see the utility in bringing up the slave hierarchy who oversaw the troublesome slaves. He probably doesn’t much care to get the United States back into the half-black, quadroon, octoroon, Mulatto, Griffe, Sacatra, Mango and on down to “pass for white” at one thirty-second black. Poor old Linnaeus and his taxonomy system had to be set aside in order for touchy-feely Affirmative Action to avoid specificity. If you self identify as a female is much different than if you are white and you self identify as black for Affirmative Action purposes.
Heck, yes, the slaves were immigrants. What else would they be? When the slavery was actually abolished, the descendants of the slaves who first were imported to, say, Georgia had nowhere to go. Some could have gone back to Haiti or Brazil from where their original immigrant ancestor came. Only a few slaves in North America (like the Mayflower families) could trace themselves to a slave ship that came directly from Africa to North America.
Of course, the point is that every Trump appointee is the enemy and anything that can be blown out of proportion and turned into an assault is ripe for the riot-prone lefties.
And Ben Carson, as we all know, is not “authentically” black. He has chosen to “act white” and be an Oreo.
Rusty wants everyone to know that Ben Carson is black on the outside, but white on the inside. Nice work, Rusty. Love that smirky bigotry.
“But what will you do, tnnsne1, if he doesn’t have what you want and your wish remains unfulfilled? And it just looks like he shot his mouth off without knowing what was going on–something he is known for, by the way.”
I will do the same thing Democrats and the media did for 8 years when Obama admitted he just learned about something by watching the news and that he would apply laser like focus to the issue.
Hi TnnsNe1,
“I will do the same thing Democrats and the media did for 8 years when Obama admitted he just learned about something by watching the news and that he would apply laser like focus to the issue.”
And that would be …?
Haha. Cas tries to play ignorant… But fails and comes off as stupid and juvenile. Way to represent for your side. Bully for you.
Hi tnnsne1,
Out of curiosity are you TnnsNe1 or tnnsne1 or both? Are you friends?
Rusty @ #9 —- This is gonna leave a mark.
The Obamessiah called the slaves immigrants. Repeatedly.
Cas .. you are a moron. Are you cray cray’s other personality? Are you so stupid that two capital letters confuse you?
Thx heliotrope, found a nice opinion piece by a
Friend and colleague of Dr Carson
Dr. Carson is a servant leader, a man of compassion, always putting others before himself. We can all get caught up in the moment and say things off script, but what matters is that we take the time to listen to those who may have been offended by our remarks and provide clarity, which is exactly what Dr. Carson has done.
Armstrong Williams served as an advisor and spokesman for Dr. Ben Carson’s presidential campaign. He is Manager and Sole Owner of Howard Stirk Holdings I & II Broadcast Television Stations and the 2016 Multicultural Media Broadcast Owner of the year.
http://thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/the-administration/322821-carsons-immigrant-remarks-were-the-same-as-obamas-but?amp
Armstrong–However, Dr. Cason, being a man of integrity, clarified his remarks: “The slave narrative and immigrant narrative are two entirely different experiences. Slaves were ripped from their families and their homes and forced against their will after being sold into slavery by slave traders. The immigrants made the choice to come to America. They saw this country as a land of opportunity. In contrast, slaves were forced here against their will and lost all of their opportunities.”
Hi tnnsne1,
“you are a moron. Are you cray cray’s other personality? Are you so stupid that two capital letters confuse you?”
I try to be careful, tnnsne1, to call everyone by their handle (Heliotrope taught me that a while back, so I have taken that to heart) even if you are more relaxed about your “handle.” Others are not. You like to insult people, and it appears that is the way that you interact with those you disagree with. That is your choice, though I find it gets in the way of decent conversation. When you combine your behavior with your inability to address any of the questions I have raised with you, it is obvious that you have no idea and no answer to offer.
And as for CrayCrayPatriot–you could learn a lot from that individual, tnnsne1.
The point of the Ben Carson news item is not how articulately he expressed his sentiment or how he did or did not clarify his thoughts. The larger issue is that a sitting president expressed similar sentiments on other occasions and received little notice, other than the usual seal-clapping which greeted many of his utterances, be they particularly profound or not. The same people who either did not pay attention to any of those 11 occasions or who applauded them are the same ones who are now calling Dr Carson terms such as “Oreo” and “coon”, or who are like Leslie Jones and asking him to “cash muh ousside m*****f***er”.
Admittedly, presidential candidate Ben Carson was known for making somewhat bizarre statements which indicated he may not have only worked inside a medical center but lived inside one as well, seemingly oblivious to many elements in the outside world. However, it’s clear that he is routinely treated to a double-standard when it comes to statements made and certainly not given the benefit of the doubt which would normally be accorded someone of his stature. The fact that much of the criticism is of a racist nature only proves the nastiness of his critics.
You have your pizza and you have your lasagna and then you have the pizza-lasagna combination which is called pizz-agna. Cass only thrives on pizz-agna. To wit:
Pinky raised high in the air as Cas eats yet another helping of pizz-agna: “I find it gets in the way of decent conversation.”
Immediately followed by, as Cas chew’s the pizz-agna: “When you combine your behavior with your inability to address any of the question I have raised with you, it is obvious that you have no idea and answer to offer.”
Cas picks specks of pizz-agna from the place mat and dabs about with a fine linen napkins before taking a delicate sip of Fiji water.
Dear Cas is so noble to come among the deplorables and attempt to show how decent conversation is engaged only to be crudely rebuked upon.
Good old pizz-agna, it is the serum of the cerebellum of the leftist elites. The hoi-polloi may either kiss their hems or smell their wind as they strut on by.
“You like to insult people, and it appears that is the way that you interact with those you disagree with. That is your choice….” followed by a string of insults leveled by Cas – “When you combine your behavior with your inability to address any of the questions I have raised with you, it is obvious that you have no idea and no answer to offer.”
Pizz-anga.
Cas.. I don’t take personal lessons from morons with leftist political agendas.
Hi Heliotrope,
I am very interested to understand why you think that trying to be being “decent” to others, to refrain from insults, even with folks who disagree with you, is somehow an affectation? To want and to have a decent conversation is somehow to be laughed at–most strange. In the end, decency is one of the things that will help us get through these times, and you appear to poo-poo it, as mere affectation. Again, most strange. Thank you for making my point–again–about combining the act of insulting with the unwillingness to address issues that are raised about political events in this country. Anytime you want to answer the questions I have raised with you, Heliotrope, I will enjoy what will hopefully be, a decent conversation.
By the way, “pizz-anga” is cute–did you coin that? It reminds me of that “Cowabunga” fad from the 80s. Your grandchildren probably did that with you at some point, right? Is that where you got that from? I am picturing you saying it aloud, repetitively, and it brings a smile to my face! 🙂
Be well
Cas
Just look how condescending Cas (a true HilBot-Obamabot) can be.
Definition of a moron : A person who can’t tell the difference between and actor and the roles they play.
If you are a moron, calling you a moron is not an insult. It is a fact.
I am bald, saying I am bald is not an insult. Even my 6yo great-niece knows this.
Hi TnnsNe1,
You are right. I was being condescending towards you in some of my comments. I apologize for hurting your feelings and being party to you feeling bad by doing this. Unfortunately, it is hard for me not to do this when I get insulted. When I am insulted by someone, even as it pains me (for no one wants to be insulted), I come to the conclusion that those who insult don’t have a better argument that can stand on its own feet, but need to knock the other person off-balance some other way to stop a too close inspection of a possibly flawed argument. I admit I feel condescension then. When my interlocutor further chooses not to answer questions asked about his own beliefs, it only reinforces my perception that they are an unserious individual, and that I did not have to take what they said (especially the insults) seriously. I liked your creative and silly definition of “moron” though.
