You Just Can’t Expect Brown Foreigners to Share Western Values, Apparently

A Canuckistanian politician wants three questions asked as part of the vetting process for admitting migrants into America’s Hat.

“Are men and woman equal, and entitled to equal protection under the law?

Is it ever OK to coerce or use violence against an individual or a group who disagrees with your views?

Do you recognize that to have a good life in Canada you will need to work hard to provide for yourself and your family, and that you can’t expect to have things you want given to you?

She’s being attacked as “Islamophobic.”

  1. Can we use those three question to determine who ‘keeps’ their US citizenship? We can deport the whole of New York and California to Canada.

  2. @ Karen I like the deporting idea but it needs to be farther away. Send them as gifts to Syria. That way they get to enjoy Islam up close and it is a flight or sea voyage to get back to the US.

  3. Reading the comments on that page indicates that Canadians don’t agree with her. They’re desperate to make false comparisons. Canada really doesn’t have a national identity, IMO.

  4. So wait, they’re saying that Arabs/North Africans/what have you are… are incapable of comprehending and embracing the moral values of Western Civilization.

I’m confused, isn’t that supposed to be racist? Or would it only be racist if these supposedly-enlightened Canadians used it as an excuse to enslave/exterminate? These “situational ethics” the Left espouses are so complex; it’s almost like they just make it up as they go along to keep themselves always in the right. But that’s ridiculous, right?

  5. I would add one more:

“Do you believe that changing law requires you to work within the existing system rather than imposing your law via fiat?”

Just imagine the people we could get rid of that way.

  6. Those three questions sound like pure good sense to me. Sad we live in an era which now makes it ever more difficult to call it “common sense”, though. We can thank our do-gooding elites and benevolent intelligentsia for that, I guess.

Btw, speaking of which… Migration flux and all that…

  8. If honestly answered, those 3 questions would limit immigration to those from within the Hajnal line. Why do people that say multicult is great keep forgeting about rape/death cults?

  9. “you can’t expect the things you want given to you.” that would negate the whole reason for the colonization, to put enough people on the dole to out vote the people that work. that has been the goal of the politician since the advent of welfare.

  12. Conservative leadership candidate Kellie Leitch is throwing the emotive, imprecise doxology loaded rhetoric right back into the faces of the liberals who can never come up with a plain spoken concept that makes sense.

“Are men and women equal, and entitled to equal protection under the law?” The leftists may now join the extreme right and babble endlessly about whether men and women are different.

But this question is IMO actually aimed at Shari’a “law.” I would reword it thus: “Are men and women entitled equally to protection under the laws of Canada.” That takes the kumbaya-universal-truths out of it.

Conservative leadership candidate Kellie Leitch wants to ask: “Is it ever OK to coerce or use violence against an individual or a group who disagrees with your views?” Once again, Leitch stirs the pot and brews up amateur Augustinians to ramble on endlessly about all the various bête noire hiding inside the inference. Of course it is OK to kill Nazis who are trying to kill you…… and stuff like that. The real question Leitch asks is: “Do you believe that you have the right to go unpunished for physically coercing or committing violence against another person, no matter the relationship, because you disagree with them? (I suppose that the anti-spanking crowd would find this wording to their liking.)

Kellie Leitch’s third question: “Do you recognize that to have a good life in Canada you will need to work hard to provide for yourself and your family, and that you can’t expect to have things you want given to you?” Aw, just cut to the chase: “You may not receive public monies or services in the form of welfare or entitlements for a period of five years and you may be deported at anytime for becoming dependent upon welfare or entitlements if you are not a Canadian citizen.” In order to “clean this up” I would suspect that Canada would need to create a “refugee under the protection of the state” classification and dress it up with all the restrictions necessary to limit it to humanitarian cases.

The Canadians are a sovereign people. They have the “right” to set their own standards for who gets to move there and live among them. For a long time they have tried to coordinate the dual language citizenship and have done remarkably well. They manage to enable their “first nation” people in a fairly smooth manner as well.

It would mean nothing to be “Canadian” if everyone were divided into hyphenated-Canadian categories. They would just be various cultures sharing the same geographical territory.

Socialism as an end destination is the myth that everyone is blended and homogenized into one Utopian species dedicated to working for the good of everyone with selflessness and pride. Guppies eat their own babies. Hawks are territorial. Lemmings have massive suicides. Orcas play with cute seal pups before they crush them, digest them and poop them. But not Socialists. They are practically perfect in every way.

Kelly Leitch is asking the critical questions we should ask at our borders. Why are you coming here? What can you add to the well-being of the nation? Are you intent on adapting to the fundamental principles of our ordered government and rule of law? That means that if the entrant is bilking the welfare system, breaking the law or placing some other belief system above the rule of law, said “entrant” is ripe for having his butt sent out of the country.

Too many numbskulls babble as if immigrants are due the same level of crime and welfare participation as our troublesome citizens engage in. How does that make any sense?

  13. A few years back, Canadian blogger “blazingcatfur” noted the existence of “mosqueterias” in a Toronto gov’t school where Muslim Friday prayers were held. Boys are seated in the front rows while menstruating girls have to occupy the back rows. As one would expect, feminists were outraged utterly silent as were the no-religion-in-school lefties.

    http://www.think-israel.org/steyn.uncleanvalleytoronto.html

The practice has spread and parents are concerned with what’s being preached at these prayers (conducted in Arabic) and that gov’t schools are expressing preference for one religion(Islam) while Christianity remains taboo.

Of course, the school board morons called critics racists (and the proper response from these critics should be a firm “go f— yourself”).

    So the conquest proceeds apace.

The west is headed to a fork in the road: surrender and submission OR open civil war. Neither choice is desirable but other options are being closed for reasons I can’t begin to imagine.

The point is well-passed for the West to recognize there IS an “Us” and the “Not-Us”; the Anglo-Sphere is a good reference. This includes not just the “English-speaking Peoples” but also states ruled-by-law like Israel, Chile, Japan and Singapore. During the 21st-century this might also include polyglot India and even post-crony capitalist China.

The “Not-Us” mostly will continue to the the broad swathe of Africa, the Middle East, and Western Eurasia of Turkey, Ukraine, Russia and the central-Asian ex-Soviet Republics. Sadly, the same will be true of Bolivaran South and Central America and Brasil.

Theodore Roosevelt, Rudyard Kipling and Eric Arthur Blair pointed us in the right direction, within the limitations of their Age. Both as goals — and as warnings.

  15. @11. Well put. I couldn’t have done it better:

But not Socialists. They are practically perfect in every way.

Socialists are the epitome of self-delusion, in flesh and bones.

For these geniuses, never mind human nature and never mind thousands of years of its anthropological version of Murphy’s law:

If power can be abused, the question isn’t whether it will be abused or not — the question is: when and how?

  16. There are plenty of private schools that cater to the children of families who demand religious observances and orthodoxy. There is absolutely no reason why Muslims can not have the same solution. The interests of the state are based on having a literate and educated citizenry. Canada’s solutions are unknown to me, but in the US the Amish have been accorded the right to end education at the 8th grade in their schools system. There are Catholic school systems, Jewish school systems and Progressive LaLa Psychobabble school systems which are neither funded nor run by the state.

If Canada is attempting to accommodate religion according to the terms dictated by the religion in their public schools, they have got their butts on their shoulders and their heads in their sitting parts.

Muslim scholars have no unified conclusion about the verses in the Quran regarding modesty of dress or the hajib in particular. Some scholars interpret the head covering as obligatory and other scholars find no evidence at all. Some “moderate” scholars have decided the hajib is a matter of personal preference.

The whole interpretation is affected by the geographical location of the Muslim groups, their local ethnicity, political systems, and the charismatic power of the local Imam had his interpretations. Islam and it practices are anything but monolithic.

You never, ever hear from “moderate” or “progressive” Imams who just all want to get along. Let an imam say that the hijab is cultural and not religious and that the girls can worship with boys and see how that works out.

A leading Irish imam has called for the Government to regulate Islamic affairs in Ireland to prevent unqualified imams radicalising Muslims.

Shaykh Dr Umar Al-Qadri, chairman of the Irish Muslim Peace and Integration Council, said the Government should set up “a Muslim council to regulate all affairs in Ireland such as how mosques are being run and what education they are providing”.

To improve mosques’ accountability, he recommended that imams in Ireland be trained in English and required to preach in English.

“In my first two years [as an imam], I made the mistake of preaching only in Urdu. But we have to have transparency; if the sermon is in Urdu or Arabic, there’s no transparency,” he told the Irish Independent.
He also said that funding from overseas should be banned, “unless a proper mechanism exists to be sure funding is not coming from any organisation that does not have the same values as us”.The efforts are directed toward becoming Irish Muslims. When have we heard that voice in Canada or the United States?
