I don’t know, this seems pretty fake to me.
A Santa Fe same-sex couple says they were left covered in blood after they were beat up by a man and a woman.
The couple in Santa Fe says they were just trying to enjoy their dinner Saturday night when a man and his wife looked at them in a very rude way. The couple decided to leave a restaurant when a fight broke out.
Their pictures on the Zuckerberg Personal Data Accumulator do not seem very convincing. Lots of smeared “blood” with no obvious source, and no visible bruises or swelling. But I guess, it could have happened. I mean, gay people aren’t generally known for creating drama in order to draw attention and sympathy.
Have they launched a GoFundMe yet?
Most of the comments are saying it is fake, nor can I blame them. No contusions of any kind. Beating doesn’t just produce blood, it produces bruising. No bruising means it is fake.
How much you want to bet it’s all menstrual flow?
If the hockey player in the previous article had pictures taken, let’s do a side by side comparison.
Maybe we could ask our good friend Milo to have a look, after his discovery of another troubling affinity between fake stories and other (not so random) factors —
https://youtu.be/neBnFaOy2Jg
Who knows!
Maybe his research is still incomplete. But the common point seems to be, anyway: you’ve got to be fairly deranged to fake or really harm yourself only for the sake of having a victimhood claim.
Oh wait, forgetful me. I just remember. It’s about “Social Justice”.
And I mean, heterosexual couples are notoriously known for running into random same-sex couples and other minorities, only to beat the crap out of them, just for fun —
and/or to assert (as a reminder) the overwhelming evidence of our natural superiority, whenever the societal question isn’t just about the benefits of cooking with oil vs cooking with butter.
I mean, here, with the wife, we do it all the time, also to entertain a bit our 2 month old (fascist) baby.
Rock’n roll, you know!
I’m tellin’ ya.
These four 2017-2020 years forthcoming have already been confirmed they will be, quite literally, hysterically Hillary-ous.
It’s just you’ve got to have a specifically huge taste for absurdity.
That’s all!
So here’s what doesn’t smell right to me. 1) Yes, certainly the blood with no contusions, abrasions or other signs of contact with other physical entities. 2) Reverse virtue-signalling: “Never in my lifetime did I expect this. Especially in Santa Fe.” (Looks to me someone might be feeling left out in the victim brigade, living in one of the most tolerant places in the country.) 3) Alleged victim “picked up a crowbar to defend herself”…there are random crowbars lying around the parking lots of Santa Fe? Yes, most likely just sloppy reporting, but most people outside of the trades would be hard pressed to find anything resembling a crowbar in an average parking lot, without digging through their trunk at the very least. 4) The end sentence in the KOB-TV story just reads strangely: “[Victims] say if police do find the suspects, they plan on showing up in court to testify against them.” Again, could be just sloppy reporting, but who among crime victims talks like that? To me it says that the question wasn’t asked, but that the answer was volunteered. “If” the police find the suspects?? What, is the Santa Fe PD normally so incompetent that they can’t solve basic crimes, like assault? Or are the facts and description so murky that Sherlock Holmes would have a hard time coming up with potential suspects?
Additional red flags:
Who engages someone who gives them the stink-eye, other than someone who looks like an NFL linebacker or WWE wrestler? (“Don’t start nothing, there won’t be nothing.”)
The Facebook post reeks of victimhood (yes, I know that’s hardly unusual for a site where even basic bodily functions are shared with glee with the rest of the world), and the head victim drops an F-bomb at the end. I realize we are at a time in society in which even finishing school graduates use the F-Word with wild abandon, but there should be some basic awareness that the use of negative phrasing doesn’t motivate an audience towards sympathy.
I find it humorous that they are referred to as being “attacked for their sexuality”, but what that means is never defined. Are they ‘animal lovers’? Furries with a fetish? Is the butch looking one transgender? Hopefully Ms Wang won’t be using that story for her clip reel when she attempts to find a job outside of the Land Of Enchantment.
… other than…
… or Melissa Click?
It’s New Mexico, sparse population with their politicians pretending it’s a Democrat haven. The smaller woman is a trouble maker, saw people with sour faces, that didn’t approve of them. I’m sure the lesbians were engaging in PDA. They got up, confronted the people, left the restaurant & the people came out to exact revenge. No one would be able to prove anything close to an assault charge. I’m always a little squeamish with “victims”, hours or days later crying in front a camera. I think words & punches were thrown. A bloody nose or scrape on the head can bleed badly without being a big deal. It was a scrum, a melee. It’s a “whoever calls the cops first” thing, being who is charged for assault. The straight couple booked it & the lesson is that no matter who you are, even a straight couple or a catholic with a smudge on your face, there’s always a group or a someone that doesn’t like you – even to the point of a punch in the snoot.
This happened in a Santa Fe restaurant?
I guess they were eating out at the wrong time of the month.
I bet the other couple was a gal-gal couple where there was some cheating going on.
As I posted a few days ago.. Rape victim advocates reported false rapes because there are so few sexual assaults in our area they needed to bring rapes into the forefront of the conversation.
On this:
How convenient, I know.
The more time passes, the more I tell myself I’m missing a HUGE opportunity for my own, custom, victimhood status.
I could just go out and sit or walk into the face of whomever and starting gorging on the stinkiest french cheese and just wait until people have enough of my obnoxious, forceful share of the pungent smell of my peculiar dairy product(s) the FDA couldn’t see coming yet.
Then, fight, lawsuit, and $$$ woot $$$ woot $$$ woot, bingo!
True…so let me rephrase that. “Who engages someone who gives them the stink-eye, other than someone who looks like an NFL linebacker or WWE wrestler, or an academic with the support of their Faculty Senate?”
@13: I didn’t mean to influence you, but I sure appreciate your thoughtful correction.
Those who got beat up by our tolerant “liberals” at the Milo event recently cancelled at UC Berkeley (just because, well, Milo would show up) would appreciate too, I’m guessing.
My instinct tells me it’s fake.
And if I’m correct, those girls should be punished.
The trouble is, I’m not sure if they have broken any laws.
Perhaps if they involved the authorities there would be some repurcussions. But something tells me they didn’t as the language was quite cagey.
This is all very disheartening. There should be a database that catalogs fake crimes if there isn’t one already (naming names, etc).
There was some mention of a police report, but good reportage would entail getting a statement from the PIO at the Santa Fe Police Department, which the reporter obviously did not. So it’s really undetermined if there was a report filed or not. If one was, then they could be charged with filing a false report.
Historically such cases are more often than not dropped down the line but jurisdictions really need to start prosecuting them. In a world of 24/7 news (fake and otherwise), someone’s desire for instant fame can be rewarded long before the real truth comes out.
I can even admit that whatever the outcome of these two girls, the fake crimes is a phenomenon. Social media has played a huge role in this, because it has given people a voice they didn’t have previously. So if someone says something that has the potential to “go viral” (such as what has happened here) then their voice can be heard in a way that wasn’t available before social media really took off in the mid-to-late 2000s, and especially in the 2010s. This is a new epidemic that needs to be addressed and, ideally, a system would be put in place that would discourage people to make such grand fake claims and punish those who indulge in the act. But, these are also victimless crimes if actual people aren’t being accused and “phantoms” are being blamed.
My guess is that police reports are filed in only a small percentage of these situations, as people in generally who are willing to lie for attention and to play victim, are also generally probably not as brazen enough to involve the law that they knew might get them in trouble. As you mentioned, these girls supposedly did go to the police, but it’s still ambiguous. There was also mention that police contacted the hospital and couldn’t find anyone matching the description of the attackers. That begs the question: did the hospital have record of the victims’ intake? (Those pictures look like they were taken from their personal bathroom: after such a savage beating that rendered one unconscious, would not a hospital visit be in order?)
Regardless, I’m not sure what that system is that could deal with this in an effective manner. It may just be the new normal that we have to live with. The problem is that it’s only going to make certain groups look bad overall in the media and make skeptics less trusting of when legitimate versions of these acts take place.
The internet is really great for a lot of things. But, it has also created two different realities by and large for society: the one that we actually live in and the one we interact with online. Perhaps the future involves the two melding together, which has a whole new set of implications.
I wish left-wing media would use more discretion in these instances. But, maybe some of them are. Towleroad posted on this. Joe.My.Blog did not (from what I could tell). Perhaps the latter is a bit late. I would have thought they’d be on this like white on rice.

If there were intellectual honesty amongst the advocacy groups, they’d institute a tracker as you suggested earlier. This would be right up the alley for an organization like GLAAD. It could even benefit their cause, by weeding out the wheat from the chaff. But again, that would require them to admit that there are indeed fake reports of discrimination and that destroys the narrative of universal victimhood. It’s much easier to capitalize on every instance of reported attacks and blame it on “the current political climate” and thus raise more money from people who want to prove (to themselves, if no one else) that they are doing something for ‘The Resistance’.
This would also require that there be some honesty among the alternative media as well. Blogs like the one by That.Jervis.Guy. live for stories like this. I’m also surprised he/they haven’t covered it. But for many of these sources, it’s still 1985, things are getting worse instead of better, and there are still plenty of victims in need of publicizing. It’s all part of the Universal Outrage Machine which used to operate on the fringes and now does so in the mainstream. Again, the Internet in general and social media in particular helps to perpetuate the endless cycle of angst and uproar in ways previously unimagined. There will be some point in which enough people tune out so that the mediums which promote will go the way of many of the periodicals which used to do the dirty work, but it probably won’t happen anytime soon.

Related to this post (at least in spirit), I just saw a report at American Thinker that radio host Michael Savage was assaulted outside a restaurant in San Francisco. Sounds a lot less fake than this one, hopefully more details will be released at the story develops.
If there was a police report, which there is some doubt of, that is a crime, punishable with fines and jail time.
