CalExit Activist Defects to Russia

April 18, 2017 by V the K

The leader of the CalExit campaign has defected to Russia; claims he could no longer tolerate America’s xenophobia and “anti-immigrant” bigotry.

Throughout this campaign, I have been primarily motivated by a personal struggle I have had with the United States government since 2012. That personal struggle revolved around the immigration status of my wife, a foreign national who I brought to the United States to live believing at the time that it was the best country in the world. For years, our marriage suffered as politicians in Washington argued and bickered about immigration reform while the American people expressed their anti-immigrant xenophobia.

Because, y’know, if Russia is known for anything, it’s for its welcoming attitude toward foreigners.

Whoa! This is deep state stuff. Clearly, this guy is working to return northern California to the Russians. I suspect that the sea otter fur trade is at the core. Putin wants a new coat.

I believe some of these American Leftists still think there is a communist Soviet Union over there.

Calexit being so fun and entertaining, this is a great loss.

Just curious, what is the wife’s nationality?

Reading between the lines, his wife is here illegally. This is confusing as she should have been able to come in legally soon after they were married.

The legitimate spouse of a US citizen goes right to the top of the list for the treasured ‘Resident Alien’ card. Right to the top. Been there and done that. WHAT was their problem?

In 2006, Marinelli launched a Facebook group called “Protect Marriage: One Man, One Woman” which eventually grew to become the largest online social media network of social conservatives against the legalization of same-sex marriage in the United States. It grew so large, in fact, that in 2009 Marinelli’s “Protect Marriage: One Man, One Woman” network merged with the National Organization for Marriage and Marinelli became a paid strategist for that organization (often working remotely from Russia) and the eventual brainchild of its 2010 Summer for Marriage Tour, for which he returned to the United States in order to participate.

A few months after the Summer for Marriage Tour, in December, 2010, Marinelli broke ranks with the National Organization for Marriage by announcing his support for the repeal of Don’t ask, don’t tell days before Congress repealed it.

On April 11, 2011, Marinelli announced his support for marriage equality, his resignation from the National Organization for Marriage and issued a very public apology to the LGBT community for his years of anti-gay activism

in 2014 Marinelli launched a campaign for California to secede from the United States to become an independent country

This guy sounds like a political opportunist who desired fame and based his choice of cause by sticking his finger in the air to see which way the wind was blowing.
