Emotions Lead You to Waste Money and Do Stupid Things

April 19, 2017 by V the K

Warning: This post meanders.

Despite millions of dollars from the Hollywood Left (the very same people who wail about the pernicious influence of money in politics) the Pajama Boy came up a little short in last night’s Special Election in Georgia and will face a June runoff.

Democrats are still calling a multi-million dollar expenditure on a losing bid for a minor House seat a victory, though. Hillary’s former spokesmouth Brian Fallon, tweeted out this insipid thing:

“Even if he doesn’t hit 50 tonight, Ossoff is showing us the path to retaking the House. It runs through the Panera Breads of America.”

Panera Bread? That’s the place where you pay way too much and leave unsatisfied. Fitting.

“We shall fight on the espresso bars, we shall fight on the Starbucks queues, we shall fight in the Whole Foods and in the Mani-Pedi Parlors, we shall fight in the Mac Stores; we shall never surrender…” said someone at the HQ.

The Democrats spent anywhere (I’m hearing) from $8M to $12M because they wanted a headline: “Voters in Red State Georgia Reject Trump.” They didn’t get it; and it wouldn’t have been true if they had. But they wanted it so badly they paid a fortune trying to get it.

Ever spent money on anything stupid out of emotional attachment? I have a closet full of hockey jerseys because of an irrational emotional connection to the sport. Also, this. What do you got?

I saw a link elsewhere (don’t remember where, will have to find it) by a Democrat operative bemoaning that most spending in this race was for ads – he did the numbers that spending $1 million of that ad money on get out the vote efforts would have virtually guaranteed a Democrat win, but that the party seems enamored with appealing to their solid base who is already planning to vote instead of pulling on the marginal supporters/ occasional voters they needed to win.
    Update: Here it is: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/17/opinion/how-democrats-should-spend-their-millions.html?ref=opinion&_r=0

So that was Hillary’s mistake — she went to Chipotle instead of Panera.

Daddy said that no matter which team is playing, bet with your brain and not your heart. I went on to a life of losing money on the Cowboy’s, but I knew better.

We need to leak some bogus study that says if the Democrats would simply spend 20 million dollars in this District, they will surely win the general election.

( lather rinse and repeat for all other special elections)

Once again the Clinton Archipelago mind-set speaks; Starbucks, Whole Foods, Panera Bakeries. More expensive, less-filling. Like that 6-inch Subway that’s only 5-1/2″…and all the delicious fillings and toppings in the picture are extra.

If a liberal Democrat can’t win in Dunwoody-Roswell-Alphetta, it’s just not going to happen.

If the Leftists are too uppity they’re going to lose the mindless hordes among themselves. They’re still desperate & their party is still slowly pulling itself apart, the non-voting but extremely low-brow verbal millennials will only be satisfied by a new party with catchy catch phrases. Otherwise, it’s only going to be the same old Libs who gave Hillary their majority in Lib territory. Temporarily pulling the wool over the eyes of those inclined to not like Trump in Georgia using a pencil neck that has more charisma than the lackluster GOP idiots there who didn’t bother with strategy is only a temporary election fix for the Dems.

After people have a taste of bread that really isn’t as hearty as a good Orowheat loaf they’re going to wish they had the extra pennies for a real sandwich that isn’t trying to shove them into the slave quarters of the local plantation. Besides, the Dems are polluting their own waters with a guy who’s co-opting GOP platform items.
