How do you think it ends?

At least some people are noticing that the Controlled Media witch hunts against Trump are an attempted coup d’etat against a lawfully-elected president.

What’s the endgame? Does President Trump resign in disgrace? Or does he triumph, as the hysteria is exposed and burns itself out? Or does he allow himself to be neutered, governing from now on as a captive of the Democrats? I don’t know.

Nobody’s perfect, and the Controlled Media is great at keeping up drumbeats; so yes, they will find something real or semi-real against Trump eventually. Let’s face it.

I could dismiss the Controlled Media as an irrelevant province of old people, and to a large extent that would be true. But they have ongoing relevance to the extent that they can scare the Congressional Republicans into rejecting (or at least unsupporting) Trump.

To get his appointees in office (including judges), to build a wall, to pass his desired infrastructure spending or tax reform, etc., Trump needs Republican unity. The purpose of the manufactured hysteria is to destroy intra-Republican unity and so to derail Trump’s appointees, criminal investigations (of the Left) and legislative agenda.

I could see a scenario where Trump resigns in contemptuous frustration. He denounces the hysteria (rightly) as he does so, and his Tweets remain a force in American politics. What happens next?

Do the Deep State and Controlled Media play the same game on President Pence? Will it work again, so soon? If it does work again so soon, does America slide into civil war at some point?

Whom does President Pence choose, as his Vice President? Does he let the Deep State run wild, taking us into another war? Questions, questions. Please let us know your thoughts, in the comments.

  1. ILC, you ask in your post title how you think it ends. I pondered that the other day. I’m thinking there will be one of two “conclusions.”

Either Trump is forced to resign (ala Watergate) after the investigation reveals something illegal (i.e. a coverup). Dems get what they want.

    or

Essentially the air is let out of the balloon, and nothing happens, maybe a nominal reprimand (similar to Monicagate). Trump and his admin move on, the economy goes crazy (in a good way), and the narrative in the media has to end up changing (people will move on and won’t be interested, especially in good economic times).

I didn’t imagine a third possibility (the one you posit). Maybe.

  2. Ideally, if this is much ado about nothing, Trump will be vindicated. But the WH has been so inept and amateur that I expect the shots fired by Trump himself will develop gangrene. They (Trump and WH staff) don’t understand the nature of Washington and couldn’t anticipate the kind of coordinated effort launched to undermine and destroy him, begun Nov. 8. I expect Trump will fight back — for a time. He will find that he’ll need support and I suspect his personality and history aren’t amenable to either asking for it or accepting it when offered. If the Democrats are successful with any of this, it will be in proving Trump’s incompetence and that much is at least partially true. It’s up to him, his staff, those still loyal to him, and his political allies to thwart this concocted narrative. Nothing is inevitable, not Madame President and certainly not a disgraced Donald Trump whose faults are arrogance, blindness, ignorance, lacking the right kind of healthy paranoia, lacking self-control — but not an intentional obstruction of justice. Mueller is a good investigator and I expect his office to be fair; that is, unless he’s an operative as much as Comey.

  3. Personally, I think it’s time for a “divorce.” Peacefully would be great, but if not SO BE IT.

  4. The biggest “culprits” in this kerfuffle are the RINO’s. The “I have to be liked by the media” Republicans who timeshare a spine.

McCain, Collins, et al are traitors to both the party and the country.

I bet Trump wishes it were possible to mass fire 1,000’s of people.

The fallout from all of this is that any sane qualified person will not want to step into the meat grinder that the Democrats have installed.

However, like the nuclear option Reid installed, the Democrats have set a standard of behavior that just might come back and haunt them.

The longer it goes on with innuendo, mountains out molehills and anonymous sources, the more sane Americans will see just what is really going on. However, the percentage of Americans who are sane is getting smaller and smaller.

  5. First and foremost, it is a long, long road to impeachment. The House of Representatives will have to be given something big and tangible to chew on.

Nixon resigned when he was told by reliable Republican senators that if the house voted to impeach that he would not be able to escape conviction in the Senate. So, he resigned.

Reagan never came close to impeachment in the Iran-Contra money laundering scheme, even though the House was in Democrat hands.

The Clintoon impeachment was put in the history books, but the Senate had no stomach for convicting him for what he did with his out of control hormones.

The DemonizingRats know for a certainty that they can not impeach Trump. Even if they win control of the House in 2018, they have literally nothing with which to go forward with impeachment except their enmity for Trump.

The opposition establishment press, DemonizingRats, Never-Trumpsters, Deep State and anti-Trump Repugnant establishment are ginning up turmoil, disgust, innuendo, and incompetency fever in order to greatly affect the 2018 elections. That is the game plan. Not impeachment.

Is Trump able to take the heat? My bet is yes. Call it stubborn or steadfast, he sees his projects through to the end if it is at all possible.

So, what about the mid-terms? Will the DemonizingRats turn out in huge numbers? For what? Even the Obamessiah lost them in 2010 and 2014. These socialist leeches need something tasty and at hand to get them off the couch.

I don’t know much about Trump’s vitals. He doesn’t exercise and his suits are made by Omar the tent maker. Mr. myocardial infarction might come calling. Who knows.

For those who think that “cover-up” is a crime, let me assure you that “demurring” that does not rise to the “obstruction of justice” and mumble-bumbling is standard operating procedure and would be a waste of time in terms of impeachment.

There is no doubt that Trump has to chip away at the bed wetters among the Republicans in the House. He could do that with small schmoozing. Trump also needs to sort out the battle of the Jews between Bill Kristol, Jonah Goldberg, David Horowitz, Mark Levin, et. al. I think Netanyahu could help him, if he wants.

Trump’s biggest obstacle is the globalist cabal of manufacturers, banks, securities concerns, lobbyists, the globalist bureaucrats, the globalist “deep state” and all of the establishment politicians on both sides of the aisle who are fully bought and paid for by the globalists. That is the actual swamp.

The fact is, the globalists are not married to the globalist ideology; they grub their money where they find it. If America First Nationalism lays golden eggs, the globalists will turn on a dime and be its strongest fanboys.

I could see a scenario where Trump resigns in contemptuous frustration. He denounces the hysteria (rightly) as he does so, and his Tweets remain a force in American politics. What happens next?

Trump’s Make America Great Again all comes crashing down and we go back to “business as usual” establishment politics.

The Trump support is steady and dedicated to Trump the man. This is not idol worship. It is practical. We want to turn the ship around and Trump is the ONLY guy who has ever stepped up to take the helm and get ‘er done. Nobody among the Trumpsters believes he is the messiah. They see him as Moses. Right now, he is confronted with the parting of the waters.

A President Pence can not fill Trump’s shoes. The various gangs would light on him like locusts. He is the perfect bobble-head of agreement standing behind Trump, but he would never have gotten close to the nomination himself. The Prima Donnas itching for the lime-light would swarm all over him. Not every prince can manage the advice of Machiavelli.

As long as the Deep Sate is composed of Dementedcrats it will continue to protect and nourish corruption like that of Obama and the Clintons. And the rank-and-file GOPers on the Hill — Congresscritters, Senators AND their staffs — will go along.

Former-Dir. Comey TESTIFIED just 10-days ago there was no obstruction of justice AND no “Russia connection”; but that hasn’t stopped the Deep State from manufacturing more lies and innuendo from whole-cloth with the help of the MSM.

  7. If the dems and “deep state” get there way it ends in a genocidal civil war. This (trump) was the last chance to “fix” America without it. The people in “flyover” have had it with this and are WAY passed ready to decorate trees with meat ornaments from ALL “sides” that aren’t willing to “turn back the clock”. IMO it is long passed time to take both “partys” and the “permanent government” out and stand them up in front of a firing squad using the “news media” talking heads as sandbags behind them to catch the bullets.

  8. There isn’t any evidence so far in their dragnet, of collusion. It’s been since July. I don’t see anything come of this except White House staff being fingered for leaking, which I’ve mentioned on a previous thread. That in & of itself could be overblown to take the place of some sort of Dem victory. But it serves Trump also, so it’s a non-issue.

You see, this has all been gone over & over last year. It’s usual for politicians to have contact with Russia during, before & after a campaign. The Dems aren’t excluded in this behavior. It’s done to help secure some sort of something that can be pointed to as detente, trade agreement victory or whatever. -and, people like to schmooze on their “business trips”. See the sights, be wined & dined & wine & dine others. It’s called international interaction. Russian oligarchs spend lots of cash. They like to secure contracts or the plan to secure contracts. The FSB wants to know whether a new political climate is going to happen because people need to plan for defense spending.

The ultimate ending is obvious to me. Nothing. The only victory is that the Dems will have delayed Trump’s agenda. False narratives only take down small fry.

  9. Trump is a fighter. We know this. The more opposition he gets, the more stubborn he gets. He will not resign.

What it will come down to is whether the House Republicans will wait for a “high crime and misdemeanor”, which legally means he has to be found guilty of a crime in court (Yes, Clinton was disbarred for perjury and suborning a witness), I seriously doubt you will get enough of them to agree to that, and the 2/3’s threshold will not be reached, simply because there is no crime.

This whole thing, though, emphasizes my contention that the greatest threat facing this nation is not Islamic terrorism, it is not illegal immigration, it is not the Democratic Party. It is a biased press. None of the others would have any means of being a threat were it not for a press that is not honest and fair in it’s coverage. The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

  10. Resignation isn’t part of the reality. Trump hasn’t done anything wrong, there’s no substantial allegations that he’s done anything wrong. The Democrat Media is continuing to take down other people on the Right like the late Roger Ailes & O’Reilly by allegations & inuendo. With people like the dirty tart Megyn Kelly & several jackasses & weenies like John McCain & the House Majority leader from California whatshisname more than willing to collaborate, quid quo pro.

Trump isn’t going anywhere. He’s not in danger.

There’s not even a hint of anything even in the offing about something that could tank Trump. The whole narrative that some people even here are falling for is a fabrication by the Dem Media Complex. Remember that. Even Fox News that’s starting to turn rotten is falling for some of the narrative. It’s patently ridiculous. (It’s not news that Fox News was going to fall into the hands of the Murdoch Lib sons, it’s been an expectation for years & years)

Meanwhile, Trump’s voters remain unscathed in their support of him. Sorry, Libs. You’re SOL & I’m still laughing. You can sneer all you want, like Crayfish, pretending to be centrist or sympathetic & trying to be involved in a conversation about this, all the while thinking that it’s witnessing a Fall. It’s not happening. There is a consequence for believing the clown car Dem Media & that consequence is mud on your ugly Lib faces. Just what are you going to do when you’re left standing there with your mouths open? Huh? Maybe you’ll finally understand what the word Patriot means. People that are proud of their country & willing to do anything to protect it. Literally, anything. I would keep that in mind, if I were you.

BTW, mobs in the summer streets, means absolutely nothing. That’ll be the next attempt at leveraging a result. Doesn’t matter. The Dems must pretend & convince their civilians that they matter. They don’t matter. The Progs & socialists don’t matter.

  12. This ends in violence, whichever way it goes. The Left is intent upon establishing it’s ‘Utopia’, and we on the alt-right are intent on keeping our freedom. If our votes are overturned by the machinations of these LeftProgs, then we will be cornered, with no option but to fight.

  14. V the K (#13), I started a longer reply, but it got too depressing.

Under President Obama I think we got a lot in the direction of a banana republic. A coup against President Trump and the Constitution (which is indeed what it would be, especially if on flimsy grounds) would mean essentially the end of the Republic as designed by our Constitution. The only remaining question would be a quick and violent end or a slower one ruled by apathy and illegal (by current law) immigration.

  15. Obama set us on a trajectory toward the dissolution of the United States… something long sought by the Communists. If there is any irony in this, it’s that the Democrats paranoid conspiracy theory about Russia may be what finally achieves the successful destruction of the USA as the Soviets desired.
