Let the DOJ appoint another special counsel

May 18, 2017 by Jeff (ILoveCapitalism)

…to look into the Obama administration’s surveillance of its political opponents.

  • whether it was truly “incidental” to legitimate (other) concerns, and/or done under FISA warrants
  • whether FISA warrants were obtained properly (rather than relying on, say, a “dossier” hacked together by a foreign intelligence agency as a political favor)
  • whether NSA Susan Rice, an Obama White House operative who apparently ordered the “unmasking” of Trump associates’ names in the surveillance data, did so for honest and legal reasons
  • whether the subsequent distribution of the “unmasked” intelligence was necessary, legal and proper
  • and who leaked it (along with Trump campaign information) to the media and/or the Hillary campaign, possibly committing felonies in the process.

Sauce for the goose, sauce for the gander. We, the American people, need to know exactly what the Obama administration was up to with its domestic spying on Americans and especially on its political opponents.

And if illegal unmasking, distribution or leaking occurred: let there be indictments.

UPDATE: Tucker Carlson has a point: President Trump could have blocked the DOJ’s special counsel for Russia. And President Hillary would have (for anything connected to her). She would be too afraid of where an independent investigator might go. Trump isn’t.

I notice Trump calling it a witch hunt, but that’s a slag on the Left’s hysteria; not on the DOJ or Director Mueller.

    Let me get this straight.
We need a special counsel to investigate (or rather continue investigating) the non existent Russian election interference and the perfectly legal comment Trump allegedly said to Comey … but it’s perfectly fine that Hillary had an illegal server for official State Dept business in her home, that their harddrives were wiped clean with Bleach Bit,that her staffers laptops HD were destroyed and electronic devices were destroyed with hammers.
And that all these news organizations are just doing honest, straightforward reporting and the Democrats are just trying to get to the bottom of all this… Riiiiight

Or as the Democrat-Media Complex so helpfully labeled it, “Hillary’s Email scandal.” Sounds so much more benign, doesn’t it? Poor Hillary had trouble with her emails.

For years, I have feared that political retribution would be the only outcome from administrations investigating the previous administration of an opposing party.

But in my lifetime, we have not had the “Chicago way” of political corruption in the White House and unleashed upon the general lives of Americans.

Anyone who forgets ACORN and its practices overlooks the horse that Obama rode in on. He would likely have won without the sleazy and disgusting use of manipulation and dedication to cheating. It wasn’t clever and it was far from how we Americans see our ethos.

Obama was a figment of Utopian imaginations; he was sanctified before he was inaugurated. He is also, as a personality, underhanded. He deals in deceits, is manipulative, uses people as props and targets and he is vindictively partisan.

So, he used the Attorney General as a henchman, the IRS for punishment, sending illegal immigrants to political enemy territory like the mafia sends a dead fish.

Then he used the underlying resentment of some publicly housed blacks as the vanguard of divisiveness, all the while blaming it on mean-spirited whites and cops.

So, now the Utopians feel raped and outraged. They want their safe places and their power restored so that they can tame the ugly beast which is the population that elected Trump. Those who are busy “resisting” Trump and the deplorables are not really fighting for firm principles. They are demanding what is not theirs to demand and throwing hissy fits fueled by political acid reflux.

Well, at this point in time, I believe that the last eight years have to be scrubbed with bleach and sunshine. And I would set the Inquisition loose on the Deep State.

God I would love love love this

First the special prosecutor would have to determine WHY someone was under surveillance that would turn up all kinds of juicy details on conservatives and their ties to foreign governments.

Oooooohhhhh the fun that would bring to watch you try to twist and deflect your way out of this

Second it would go the way of all of your fake “scandals” during the Obama administration

IRS – millions of dollars and hours spent yet you found no wrong doing by Obama

    More:
Benghazi millions spent yet no wrong doing by Obama or Clinton
“Fast and furious”? – oh turns out that was a Bush era program no wrong doing by Obama
Solyndra – again no wrong doing

Investigation after investigation turned up the same. Obama was actually ethical! Obama played politics but did it with integrity!

As much as conservatives tried they found no facts to back up their projection.

So please investigate Obama again and watch it backfire.

    Pretty please?

littlelettermikey, the fascist wants a gestapo.

First the special prosecutor would have to determine WHY someone was under surveillance…

    All fascists think alike.

As in 1984, everybody is under surveillance and being under surveillance is evidence of suspicion. Evidence of suspicion marks you for more surveillance. Increased surveillance makes you a prime suspect. Being a prime suspect makes you highly deceitful and it becomes necessary to shake the evidence out of you.

In the words of littlelettermikey, the fascist:

Oooooohhhhh the fun that would bring to watch you try to twist and deflect your way out of this

“As in 1984, everybody is under surveillance and being under surveillance is evidence of suspicion. Evidence of suspicion marks you for more surveillance. Increased surveillance makes you a prime suspect ”

I would amend that to say: Talking to those under surveillance about suspicious things warrants more surveillance and more suspicion.

    Wouldn’t you agree?

But hey if you want to change the surveillance laws feel free to propose something. If memory serves you were happy about them when conservatives like Bush and Cheney created them.

I would amend that to say: Talking to those under surveillance about suspicious things warrants more surveillance and more suspicion.

What you didn’t say was that in a police state having someone under surveillance is not subject to the necessity of “probable cause” and other protections of “the rule of law.”

I bet you howl like a scalded cat if the subject of “profiling” comes up.

You, littlelettermikey, the fascist proclaimed this:

First the special prosecutor would have to determine WHY someone was under surveillance…

If someone is under surveillance, there has to be probable cause on file with a judge. That is what a FISA warrant is all about. The special prosecutor would be wasting his time checking on the “why” unless there was no authorization or the state was not following the “rule of law.”

It is clear that you have no concept of the rule of law.

The gestapo or Stasi or KGB had the permission to spy on the citizens and, as you happily noted:

Oooooohhhhh the fun that would bring to watch you try to twist and deflect your way out of this

Two-thirds of Václav Havel’s life was lived under conditions of German dictatorship or Communist totalitarian power in Czechoslovakia. He was a writer, poet, playwright and dissident. He was under constant under surveillance by the state police. Havel urged his countrymen to refuse to cooperate in state corruption, bribes, awards, lies, and dogma. By expressing those sentiments in his writings, Havel “won” a 42 month prison stay.

But, Havel had great wit. He had two typewriters. One he left out and wrote many of his letters and works on it. The other was carefully hidden and he used it for typing up his “dissident” works. He knew that the surveillance police had taken the “fingerprints” of each print head on the one typewriter and that they could identify everything he wrote on that typewriter. So, he played a cat and mouse came with the secret police. The hardly secret police had no fingerprints on the other typewriter and they were only able to tie dissident works to Havel through speculation.

Václav Havel later became President of Czechoslovakia and his efforts in trying to pry Czechoslovakia out of the grasp of the totalitarian infused bureaucracy is an amazing story.

Give the state the power of unrestricted surveillance and you will arrive at Oooooohhhhh the fun that would bring to watch you try to twist and deflect your way out of this… in no time at all.

Scratch a Statist and you will find a Nazi. Every time.

    littlelettermikey, the fascist:

My goodness Helio… you have the hubris to compare Havel to conservatives getting caught colluding with Foreign governments?!?!?

Read my lips, I will go slow so you can follow me…

You expressed your enthusiasm for state surveillance of the sheeple:

First the special prosecutor would have to determine WHY someone was under surveillance that would turn up all kinds of juicy details on conservatives and their ties to foreign governments.

See? You link special prosecutor with surveillance with juicy details. Why you link a special prosecutor surveilling conservatives is not stated, but since you are a leftist loon, your view of statism would naturally trend toward bitch-slapping conservatives.

In fact, you spewed as much:

Oooooohhhhh the fun that would bring to watch you try to twist and deflect your way out of this

Václav Havel could only hope to be free to choose between US liberalism or conservatism. He fully understood the realities of fascist statism. Which you would too, except you are a fascist.

You statists love to talk about statist Utopia, but you always have to crush those who suffer from non-conforming views. So you lovingly eliminate them. Planned Stateparenthood. Retroactive abortion. Death to the infidel. The ultimate solution.

Sorry, littlelettermikey, the fascist, as a statist, you hare blind to the freedom and self reliance protected by popular sovereignty. You would sell your soul for a little welfare.
