White People Should Not Be Allowed to Cook Mexican Food

May 24, 2017 by V the K

The above is the latest politically correct wisdom from the social justice left; which shut down a burrito restaurant in Portlandia because it was run by white women.

One commenter said: “Now that you all boldly and pretty fucking unapologetically stole the basis of these women’s livelihoods, you can make their exact same product so other white ppl don’t have to be inconvenienced of dealing with a pesky brown middle woman getting in their way. Great job.”

Another commenter explained what’s basically a sad truth underlying the Portland restaurant community: “If you knew anything of the restaurant industry (or Google) you’d know that this is true. ‘Ethnic’ chefs are expected to ‘cook from their ethnic backgrounds’ while White chefs can do what these two horrid women did: vacation somewhere and ‘get inspired’ and appropriate an entire culture’s cuisine and claim it as their own.”

Immediately after the fury continued online, a different resource emerged and quickly went viral: a Google doc showing exactly how prevalent this epidemic is. The list titled “White-Owned Appropriative Restaurants in Portland” provides a who’s who of culinary white supremacy.

Segregationist Democrats in 1955: “Folks should just keep to their own kind.”

Oh, I think white people are allowed to eat Mexican food. But they have to buy it from Mexicans, because white people aren’t allowed to sell and profit from Mexican food.

Burritos aren’t Mexican. These white women appropriated an American interpretation of Mexican food that Mexicans had appropriated and were serving in Mexico, then brought it back to the US to serve as the Mexican food it isn’t. Besides, much of Mexican food is actually Native American in origin. These SJWs realize that, right? No?

It’s Oregon – Portland, no less. If there is a brain dead zone on the Left Coast that trumps the rest of their coastal paradise, in being mindless, without mind, vacant, just not there &/or stupid; it’s Portland & the rest of western Oregon. They’re a special happy house all to themselves & they don’t really have a problem with Californians settling in because, frankly, even representatives of LA’s rat race who pick up stakes to find different people to scam find them odd & it’s humid, moving on to greater Seattle.

The topic of V’s post? This is an average day in Libworld. It’s their translation of snowflake-speak. The rest of western Oregon is made up of people who don’t acknowledge the existence of an outside world & people on the ::Right:: who willfully think it’s a good idea to kill all the wildlife in the forests so that logging may proceed unhindered. Oh & they think & say this with a sneer, as if there’s actual thought behind it.

Fine. Then I propose non-whites stop culturally appropriating electricity.

How petty and miserable do people need to be to bully a burrito shop out of business? Can these tyrants tell me how Mexicans are helped here?

If Mexicans are, say, producing polio vaccine, are they appropriating white culture?

There is exactly one correct response to these crazy people: go eff yourself. OK – two responses. F.O. works.

How did it come to pass that insane people get to run the world?

Also non-white people should stop culturally appropriating European languages like Spanish.

Reminds me of the kerfuffle regarding hoop earrings.

White women were insulted for appropriating the Hispanic tradition (that originated in Mesopotamia) of wearing hoop earrings.

Also reminds me of the 26 year old African-American internet sensation who claimed her grandmother was a slave in the South.

Let them continue to display their stupidity and hate.

@4 There might be something to that. My grandmother was born a Mexican citizen in Mexico and didn’t come to the US until she was in her 30s. Although she would occasionally make chicken enchiladas for us (never baked, just rolled, sauced, and served), she much preferred French food to Mexican food.

It may be time to quarantine the lefty parts of the Pacific Coast. The people are crazy, and as racist in a different direction as any Klansman ever was.

Now the SJWs should be asked how these women are to pay taxes to support the government (required by many SJWs to enforce their ideas) since they have had their legal business destroyed. I am seeing parallels (maybe its the lack of coffee) between the targets of these campaigns and the Soviet “unperson” who is banned from housing and work and basically left to die in some field.

When I lived in NYC (mid-’90s to 2003), I was struck by how many of the “mom-and-pop fast-food Tex-Mex” outlets were owned and staffed by Chinese or Koreans. (Not upscale Mexican and not fast-food chains; I mean no-name Burritos y Tacos ‘Я’ Us.)

P.S. Fast-food joints with three primary menu items: Fried Chicken, Gyros, and Pizza, were totally ubiquitous in Brooklyn, and were overwhelmingly owned by Middle Easterners — particularly Yemenis. Gyros vaguely qualify in regional terms, but the pizza and fried chicken were “standard American recipe,” without the slightest attempt to put a Middle Eastern fusion-spin on the seasonings. (Amusingly, many of the restaurants had names like “Kennedy Fried Chicken” or “Kansas Fried Chicken” or any other K-word besides “Kentucky.”)

I’m done being tolerant of terrible goy bagels. Next time I see a coffee shop that isn’t kosher sell a bagel that hasn’t been boiled before it is baked (which is how they are authentically made) or comes in a non traditional flavor like cinnamon raisin or jalapeño, I’m going to loot and smash the place up. Stop appropriating Jewish deli culture.

In the Northeast around Philly, it’s common knowledge that the best pizzas*, cheesesteaks and hoagies come from places run by Greeks.

( * -Unless we’re talking about authentic Italian tomato pie.)

My mom grew up in a coal mining town in Wyoming. The town has one of the most diverse ethnic makeups of any western town, largely due to the railroad. Mom learned to cook from her own mother and from her friends and neighbors who were Italians, Poles, Greeks, Ukrainians, Czechs, and others too numerous to mention.

Mom was a great cook and growing up, our family enjoyed reasonably authentic food from all of the cultures. When mom made dinner for friends who’s families were from “The Old Country” there was no attitude of “cultural appropriation” but usually more like that’s the best ______(fill in the blank) I’ve ever had, can I have the recipe.

Their first mistake was to open their business in Portlandia in the first place. There are a hundred other places (many in Oregon) where they could have opened their business and it would have been a smash hit which they could have used to probably franchise other locations. But thanks to food snoots who happen to have a platform [I’m talking to you, Willamette Week and Portland Mercury] for their nothing-is-ever-good-enough elitist snobbery, they have been branded with the scarlet “W” and forced to obey their unelected overlords. At least this whole incident helps in the unending drive to Keep Portland Weird.

I’m tentatively planning a trip to PDX in late September. I plan to use the ‘prohibited restaurant’ list as my dining guide.

If we’re serious about cultural misappropriation, then anyone who doesn’t have Northern European ancestors MUST give-up wearing pants, indoor plumbing and eyeglasses. So Sorry…!

Oh, and you have to go back to being oppressed peasants and serfs. No democracy for you!! That’s only for descendants of the post Renaissance Enlightenment cultures.

Back to the glory days of gunpowder, steel and smallpox… Yay!!

This week makes me miss the days people could joke in NYC about Nanny Bloomers banning pressure cookers because non Asian minorities cant figure out how to use them correctly.
