Denver Literally Becoming a Leftist ‘Trou de Merde’

June 12, 2017 by V the K

To protect precious illegal immigrants from deportation, the city of Denver, (East California) is decriminalizing public urination and defecation.

Democrat Mayor Michael Hancock and city officials explained the new ordinances are designed to protect immigrants — legal and the other kind — from “unintended consequences.”

“Unintended Consequences” mean being deported for breaking the laws of country they have no legal right to be in.

I guess Denver Leftists want to emulate San Francisco, where the public urination and defecation problem is so out of hand that they are developing “Poop Maps” to help pedestrians avoid the worst areas. I am not making this up.

Leftists like to claim that conservatives want to take society back to the 1950’s. The left apparently won’t be satisfied until public sanitation is at Middle Ages levels.

Checking out the SF poop map reminded me of how Californians always used to say “The homeless problem is because of Ronald Reagan and Prop 13! They emptied the mental institutions! The mentally ill people had nowhere else to go!”

If that’s true….Democrats have controlled more than Republicans have, for the last few decades…why is the problem still with us?

    (I guess it isn’t true.)

Oh, c’mon, our dear progressives are making progress, slowly but surely…

At least, this time, they aren’t blaming the russians:

    Are they?

    So, there!

@ilovecapitalism yes, but those mentally ill vote Democrat so the DNC would rather have them out pooping on the street rather than locked up or deported and not voting.

Why are they assuming illegals are the ones responsible for this sh*t?

A few years ago & up to the present periodically from what I can tell the airport in Cape Town SA has a problem with people throwing poop. Basically a combination of liberal problems there. Not sure why liberals worldwide have this bodily functions issue happening.

I would have to ask the same thing as Ignatius. The answer is, that it’s probably the homeless & crack heads pulling down their pants & letting loose. But if the Democrats of Denver & San Francisco have determined that Illegals frequently do this in public then we have more of a reason to round them all up, move people through checkpoints to find the Illegals, go door to door, ask people in a public service announcement campaign to report suspected Illegals & more. 10 to 11 million Illegals in America qualifies as an invasion, if you think about it rationally. They’re not supposed to be here.

When I’m out & about & spot obvious Illegal Alien(s) I quickly move myself & those with me to the side, quickly leaving a vicinity. I don’t want any trouble. The government needs to take care of it.

I think I’ve been paying attention these last few years but I must’ve missed the election when We The People voted to be replaced with third-worlders for whom pooping and peeing in public places is normal.

And I missed the election where we decided that our own poor, homeless, and mentally ill were effectively dealt with so that we saw the need to import more.

“And I missed the election where we decided that our own [veterans], and our poor, homeless, and mentally ill were effectively dealt with so that we saw the need to import more.”

    Amen.

Indeed. I missed that one, too.

    Go figure.

I thought Commies were forward looking. Why would they want to go back to pre sewer systems with public bodily functions being encouraged? We all know the answer to that question.

The answer is, that it’s probably the homeless & crack heads pulling down their pants & letting loose.

This is closer to the truth than anyone familiar with the situation is willing to admit.

I adore Andrew Malcolm (as a rare Canuck who actually ‘gets it’), but he suffers from the same sort of myopia that many do when observing a story from afar. This recent measure has little to do with pooping or peeing in public and more to do with virtue-signaling towards the immigrant rights movement. But even that pales in comparison as to the real reason for the reclassification of crimes.

Colorado is awash in people, and it’s only projected to become more so in the next twenty years, with a few million more people occupying the state, many of those along the Front Range, which comprises essentially the part of the state from Colorado Springs to just over the Wyoming border. Denver will see a fair number of those people, for a variety of reasons. The area with the most people often has the most problems. So it is currently with The Mile High City. Part of the reason for the influx which few like to acknowledge is the passage of Amendment 64, which effectively legalized marijuana in the state. Many have heralded the associations of ‘freedom’, ‘liberty’ and elimination of the street drug black market and the decimation of criminal gangs which deal in illegal pharmaceuticals with the passage of that act. Amazingly, none of which have come to fruition. (Seriously, how much ‘liberty’ do you have if you get panhandled multiple times for drug money as you are walking out of a bar or restaurant after a night on the town?) The homeless population has exploded, as have those who have come to find a place where they can self-medicate with their freely available drug of choice because working on problems and medicating with the correct prescription drug is too difficult. (Yes, some are members of both groups.) The perceived libertine attitude towards what once were considered crimes–rightly or wrongly–has resulted in the perception of The Columbine State as a place where one might just be able to engage in behaviors that aren’t worth engaging in elsewhere.

The sad fact is that Denver now has too many Broken Windows to consider yet another broken window a crime requiring a detailed police report. By reclassifying certain crimes, the City & County Of Denver frees up existing law enforcement to deal with more serious crimes, which in turn frees up jail space, and in turn, helps free up the increasingly clogged judicial system. It’s a win-win for everyone—except the average person who has to deal with the antisocial acts. Homeless people can be shuffled around like chess pieces with occasional “street sweeps” without actually having to deal with the problem and the underlying issues. If we’re not hassling them for inappropriate urination or defecation, then we are perceived as not picking on them too much.

Mayor Hancock has very shrewdly pursued the referenced course of action, as it enables him to remain popular with the very people who believe in the “No Guns Are Welcome, But All People Are” mentality that pervades the bleeding heart mindset while at the same time keeping a lid on an ever-increasing city budget and reducing the growth of same and managing to reduce the need for extra law enforcement and incarceration space.

The difference between San Francisco and Denver is that the mentality in San Francisco is one of laissez faire social management, where encroaching on someone’s God-given right to freely pee or poop or camp out in public spaces is considered a violation of their basic human rights and an inherent form of oppression as well as an assault on their humanity and dignity. Denver’s recent approach is one of utilitarianism. While it’s nice to be considerate of someone’s needs, the primary concern is both an increasing budget and police response time. If decreasing those means easing up on people doing antisocial but nonviolent acts, then so be it.
