I’m sure GP readers can relate to idea that nowadays, it is MUCH harder to come out as conservative than as gay.

  4. “Federal Reserve’s chair, Janet Yellen, says that we won’t see another financial crisis in our lifetimes.”

And I say the world has never, ever seen a central banker with a milligram of decency, let alone honesty.

They would print the blood running in your veins by fiat and lend it to you in the form of ever depreciating banknotes if they could.

Oh wait stoopid me, that’s what they are already doing with Obamacare + the IRS + the section 4 of the 14A.

  5. At times, I feel like something of a spy among liberals: I tell them I’m into guys, and they immediately start spewing the most vile hatred about rural Americans, and white Americans, and Republicans, and how much they hate how “white” their home towns are. Sipping cocktails and letting them empty their heads of every awful thought they have, these supposedly “tolerant” people, letting me know which ones to add to the list of “keep an eye on if stuff hits the fan.”

Make no mistake, we are double agents. And I frigging love it.

  6. @5, Yes, I’ve been out to dinner with a white gay liberal friend who complained that he was “blinded by the white” because there weren’t enough non-white people in the place. I find that these are the same white liberals who will go giddy with excitement over being the only white people in a Japanese or Chinese or Indian or Vietnamese (etc.) restaurant because “you know that if they all eat here, it means this place must be really authentic.”

So it’s okay for a restaurant to attract a mostly Asian clientele, but it’s not okay for a restaurant to attract a mostly white clientele? What if it’s an Irish pub or a French restaurant? By their logic, a mostly white clientele at a French restaurant must mean the place is really authentic, right?

White liberals can be so racist.

  8. I’m waiting for the day Commie Van Jones stumbles out of the limelight.

It appears that Yellen is talking about a Great Depression Era run on the banks. I might agree with her, but that’s like saying there won’t be another dinosaur killing meteor in our lifetimes. There’s no reason to say it. I know it’s human to have periodic verbal diarrhea, but I thought she was too boring for that.

  10. The last cry of a bully is always the coward’s whine about discrimination.

Discrimination exists. It does not have to be either the status quo or even limiting. But to give into it is weakness.

For Susan Rice to suddenly “discover” that she was being patronized because of her power by misogynists and race bigots is for Susan Rice to admit that she tried to strut her stuff above her pay grade.

Every competent black I know was in fear of Obambi screwing up on a human level and then screaming “race” as the cause. The problem with that concern, is that no human can possibly carry off the task of high expectations without a hitch.

Blacks at the top layers have to be human as well as humble without being edgy. That’s a tough duty, but lots of black men and women carry it off.

When you resort to blaming the bigotry of others, you have thrown in the towel and admitted you can’t take the heat.

Try as I might, I can not relate the corruption surrounding Benghazi to anything caused by race or gender.

Susan Rice is clearly to too small for her shoes. And that is not a race or gender thing.

  11. Susan Rice got the Obama Presidential Library to SEAL the unmasking correspondence for the next FIFTEEN years. So much for “…the most transparent Presidency in US history”.

I guess the files are too volumous to fit in Sandy Bergaer’s pants…

  12. Ted B.,

My understanding of the “law” is that the “shield” is automatic for 5 years. Be that as it may, I truly doubt that such a law is Constitutional under all conditions.

We have seen so much creativity when is comes to acts of Congress and getting around them, I would not be surprised if a clever lawyers sees a path straight through the Presidential Library transition period protections. There is always “original intent” behind every law and I cannot imagine the obstruction of justice being one of them.

The archives of a President are vast and complicated. A great deal of mischief could take place on January 21, after the inauguration if the new party in power were to rush into the Presidential papers in order to did up every little nuance of malfeasance or misfeasance they could sniff out. Misdemeanors can wait until the library and its contents are largely in place and citizens can roam freely through unclassified materials. So, I think the “seal” is really just a courtesy.

I hope this is the intent.

Many folks investigating the closing days of the Obama administration are finding evidence that the “shield” was extended to “matters” that would help “cover-up” Obama’s involvement in causing confusion within the beginning months of the Trump administration. Any President has the power to take such matters straight to the SCOTUS and get a quick resolution if the “seal” appears to negatively impede the powers of the Executive branch, including the Department of Justice.

  13. I would add one note: There has not been sufficient time for the Archivist of the United States to even begin to sort the Obama documents or to review the documents bound for the Presidential Library.

  14. Sir Humphrey’s solution to embarassing memos;

James Hacker: How am I going to explain the missing documents to “The Mail”?
Sir Humphrey Appleby: Well, this is what we normally do in circumstances like these.
James Hacker: [reads memo] This file contains the complete set of papers, except for a number of secret documents, a few others which are part of still active files, some correspondence lost in the floods of 1967…
James Hacker: Was 1967 a particularly bad winter?
Sir Humphrey Appleby: No, a marvellous winter. We lost no end of embarrassing files.
James Hacker: [reads] Some records which went astray in the move to London and others when the War Office was incorporated in the Ministry of Defence, and the normal withdrawal of papers whose publication could give grounds for an action for libel or breach of confidence or cause embarrassment to friendly governments.
James Hacker: That’s pretty comprehensive. How many does that normally leave for them to look at?
    James Hacker: How many does it actually leave? About a hundred?… Fifty?… Ten?… Five?… Four?… Three?… Two?… One?… *Zero?*
    Sir Humphrey Appleby: Yes, Minister.

One bows-deeply to the true professional…
