They’re coming for the smart people

I knew this day would come. In trying to make successful people feel guilty, Social Justice Warriors are ready to take us to full-on _Idiocracy_ or _Harrison Bergeron_. The SJW columnist Dan Williams says:

There are many kinds of privilege besides white privilege: cognitive privilege, for example. We now know that intelligence is not something we have significant control over but is something we are born with… below a certain threshold of intelligence, there are fewer and fewer opportunities… Thus, the accident of having been born smart enough to be able to be successful is a great benefit that you did absolutely nothing to earn. Consequently, you have nothing to be proud of for being smart.

His claims are contrary to science. There are plenty of things you can do, to enhance your intelligence or to damage it. For example, some studies show that frequent marijuana use can permanently damage your memory, concentration, and overall IQ. Whereas those things can be preserved or enhanced by healthy lifestyle, or some forms of education or problem-solving. So yes, your intelligence is something you “have significant control over”, long-term.

Williams’ claims are also contrary to my life experience. Throughout my life, I have consciously worked long and hard at becoming smarter and doing better things than I would have otherwise. It was no accident. It used to be called “self-improvement”.

But I suppose that, if you’re a modern-day lazy pot-smoking type of “smart” person – someone who was born talented and has indeed drifted along, doing little or nothing to forge your unique self, and falling into a six-figure salary all the same – then Williams’ comments might make sense to you. You would be too ignorant to know better. And you would need the SJW Religion for its cheap grace, or as a way to live with yourself.

From the comments: Heliotrope highlights another significant quote from Williams’ piece:

Any of us could have been born the unluckiest person on the planet, which, by definition, picks out precisely one person. But we all have the privilege of not being that person. We are all privileged by comparison.

This highlights the religious aspect of SJW-ism.

  • “Privilege” is the new Original Sin, the guilt-from-birth that no one escapes (except Williams’ hypothetical “unluckiest person born”, maybe).
  • PC “Social Consciousness” is the new Redemption (the cheap grace that I mentioned).
  • Revolution would be the (longed-for) Apocalypse or Last Judgment.
  • and Social Justice, the (unattainable) New Jerusalem or Kingdom of Heaven.

Trump Derangement Syndrome

A few days ago, author JK Rowling falsely accused President Trump of snubbing a 3-year old boy in a wheelchair. Trump did shake the boy’s hand, and even stooped to pick up something for him. But an edited video was posted to omit all that, and you can guess the rest. The JK Rowlings of the world were eager to call Trump a “monster of narcissism”.

Chelsea Clinton re-tweeted (joined in) at first; but she backpedaled somewhat, after seeing the real video. As of this writing, Rowling still hasn’t apologized; not even after she has been condemned by the boy’s mother and condemned even by the likes of CNN’s Brian Stelter (himself a frequent sufferer of Trump Derangement Syndrome). Ever wonder if JK Rowling is dumber than Chelsea Clinton? There it is.

Meanwhile, Huffington Post Writer Dan Arel Endorses Political Violence Against Trump Supporters. His logic is the classic, I’m pretty sure my political opponents are somehow Nazi rapists; therefore I’m justified. Wicked people always tell themselves they’re doing good.

From the comments: rusty points out that, later on Monday, Rowling finally retracted her statements. Contrary to the media’s headlines, she did not apologize. (Remember, it was President Trump whom she slandered as a “monster”; not the little boy or his family. She misdirected her new remarks to them and gave Trump zero.) But at least she acknowledged having gotten the story wrong. That’s partway there, I suppose.

If UK/Europe are doomed, this is why

Cross The Line in the UK is a Twitter ad campaign to help people “spot the signs of right wing extremism”. Signs such as being young, doing political actions, and going to the gym:

Here’s the thing: Young, politically-involved gym-goers may vote for Brexit (gasp!), but they commit no terrorist attacks, in the UK or elsewhere. Unless they’re Muslim. If they’re Muslim, they do it all the time, killing and maiming people.

Does the UK have ad campaigns to help people spot the signs of Islamic extremism?

A very odd-looking hyphenated … gentleman (?) I guess… thinks straight people should not be welcome in gay bars.

I don’t mind LGBT women being in gay bars but I don’t think straight folks of any gender should go without an invite.

wish straight cis folks pissed that some gays don’t think they should go to gay clubs would just admit they don’t respect gay men’s spaces

gay bars aren’t about you, straighty

I know that the New Segregation is a big thing on the left. The University of Minnesota is setting up segregated spaces for black folk, because they just want to keep to their own kind, apparently.

But honestly, I really could not care less about the gay bar thing. And as for hyphenated guy, it just means there’s more people to reject him when he goes out. As for straight girls going to gay bars just so they can post selfies of themselves dancing at a gay bar… well, that’s just part and parcel of being a social leftist. A very large number of the people in your movement are  dimwitted women who like to show off their “tolerance and inclusiveness.” London has to just accept terrorists, you just have to accept airhead white women.

If you want to be around smart women who respect your space, become a conservative.

Another Reminder That Leftists Are Horrible People

A pastor took a stand against the stupid virtue-signaling rainbow bull-shirt that idiots do on Facebook to show other idiots how much they support gay people. The tolerant, inclusive gay left responded with reasoned argument porn, feces, and threats of violence.

Since the ministry’s webpage listed Penkoski’s home address, he and his family have become targets. Their car was keyed and they received feces in the mail. The pastor also reported receiving hate messages and even gay porn in his email inbox.

“They sent fecal matter to our house, gay porn to our house,” Penkoski told the Christian Post. “Last night, for instance, someone threatened [in a Facebook message] to rape me. They said if I disrespect their pride flag they would come pound my a**.”

“These people are absolutely horrid,” the pastor continued. “These are the kinds of things a decent human being wouldn’t do, regardless of whether they are Christian or not. It was all meant to bully us and try to silence us.”

He added that his family “received messages of ‘You should die,’ ‘Go kill yourself.'”

Because of the threats, he and his family have been forced to move out of their home.

Congratulations, Gay Left. You’ve become the exact monsters you claim the people you hate are.

Trump gets ready to be on offense?

News-wise, it’s been a busy few days. Following Scaramucci’s appointment a couple weeks ago to replace Sean Spicer (as WH Acting Communications Director), now DHS Secretary Kelly is appointed to replace Reince Priebus (as WH Chief of Staff). We also heard that AG Sessions is finally going to crack down on leakers.

Spicer and Priebus both came to President Trump via the Republican National Committee. In other words, though perhaps good human beings, they were traditional Swamp creatures. Rumors have swirled for months that Priebus had Spicer working more on behalf of Priebus’ reputation than Trump’s, and that Priebus was one of “the leakers” who have caused trouble for Trump. Even if that isn’t true, I still can’t say that the Priebus-Spicer team has done a wonderful job of advancing an America First agenda.

Politically, Trump is a “fighting” President and the combination of Scaramucci and Kelly says that he wants to stop playing defense and go on offense. Scaramucci seems more genuinely combative than Spicer and more adept at new media (getting Trump to do his first Periscope live stream, for example). General Kelly seems like an effective manager who really believes in Trump’s agenda in terms of America First, controlling the border, cracking down on gangs (MS13), and so forth.

The rumor mill says that NSA McMaster could be on his way out. He is said to be yet another leaker, who carries forward Obama policies and appointees rather more than he should. He apparently championed a Syria war, and Trump has apparently decided against a Syria war. We shall see.

Our favorite Senator, Lindsey McCain, still hates Trump passionately. Here is video of Lindsey Graham saying that Trump is an enemy of the Rule of Law who “turns democracy upside down”. And video of John McCain pumping fists with Chuck Schumer (D) when the Senate failed to repeal Obamacare on Friday.

Why does John McCain love Obamacare?

UPDATE – Not so much on offense? Scaramucci has just resigned. This is probably not great, if Trump wants a forward communication strategy. And it’s probably something that Kelly wanted.

So, we would have a scenario where Scaramucci is brought in, takes out Priebus (by means of a conflict that I didn’t go into, above), makes room for Kelly to come in, and then Kelly says “I’m the boss – you’re done”?

UPDATE: A report says yes, the above is what Jared and Ivanka wanted. Scaramucci was just their blunt instrument for removing Priebus; Bannon, Kelly and others were never going to stand for having Scaramucci around.

Also, if you believe Jack Posobiec’s sources on Capitol Hill, McCain defeated the latest Obamacare repeal just to screw Trump and Rand Paul. Totally unprincipled.

This is one perspective, and I know of no reason it should be considered illegitimate. I tend to agree that the reason for forcing the military to accept transgendered people is an emotional one. “It’s not fair!” is the tantrum-cry of a spoiled child, not a reason-based argument. To me, the question is whether the military will be better at its primary mission if transgendered people are in it. That should be the only question in consideration of what the rules ought to be.

A group of college know-it-all Marxists at Swarthmore broke up when they looked around at each other and realized they were all rich white people.

According to screenshots confidentially provided to Campus Reform by an individual with access to the group’s private Facebook page, the demise of the Swarthmore Anti-Capitalist Collective (SACC) came in the wake of a farewell letter from a member who had decided the group could never be an effective proponent of “unproblematized anticapitalist politics” due to its “history of abuse, racism, and even classism.”

They probably figured out that real Marxism would mean giving up their money and privilege to the poors.

Every Gay Conservative’s Story

Every conservative or Republican ghey person has the same story; my new Republican friends were warm and welcoming when they found out I was guy, my guy friends shunned and hated me when they found out I was Republican.

Happens every time.

In mid-2016, Brown decided to see if there were any Republicans in Portland with whom she could connect. She went to a Multnomah County Republican street fair, where she met a group of women who were immediately receptive. (The county includes the city of Portland and some surrounding suburbs.) “There was plenty of warmth and acceptance,” she said, more than she’d ever felt on the left. “I’m a trans lesbian atheist, and they are conservative Christian. But not one single time has my gender come up, unless I’ve brought it up.”

When Brown came out as transgender in 2013, only two friends stopped speaking to her. When she came out as Republican, soon after her trip to the street fair, she remembered being blocked by roughly 100 people on Facebook, mostly from the LGBTQ community, she said.

When it comes to transgendereds, I really don’t give a flying rat’s arse about their personal life, but I hate and resent when they use the state to force other people to bow down to their neuroses.

A gay website recently told its audience to ditch any Republicans they might have and block anyone on social media who disagrees with you about anything. You know, because Republicans and conservatives aren’t “inclusive.”

Oh, and here’s some more stupid crap leftists are doing.

de Blasio’s Secret Pizza Party

I’m late getting to this, but there’s been a lot of other news. Bill de Blasio faces questions over his apparent pay-for-play. From The New York Times’ July 24 article, a sample:

Less than six months after Bill de Blasio became mayor of New York City, a campaign donor buttonholed him at an event in Manhattan. The donor, Harendra Singh, one of the earliest contributors to his mayoral campaign, ran a restaurant on city property and was having problems with the lease. Could the mayor help him?

That encounter, on June 3, 2014, set the wheels of government turning in an extraordinary way on behalf of Mr. Singh. City officials at the highest levels became involved, ultimately drawing the interest of federal investigators focused on what they saw as a pattern of trading favors for campaign contributions…

Allegedly, de Blasio’s behavior extended to retaliatory firing of whisteblowers. Both the Manhattan and U.S. attorneys investigated in 2016, and it’s unclear why de Blasio wasn’t charged. (Preet Bharara, anyone?)

The fun bit was when de Blasio read a book to a bunch of kids, Secret Pizza Party. By example, the story encourages kids to steal things, keep it secret, and have secret parties that they don’t tell grownups about. Right up his alley.

I digress now, but it’s even creepier that the book tells kids, “When you make something secret, you make it special,” a line straight out of Pedophile 101. I mean, don’t get me started on Jacob Schwartz, who was a top de Blasio staffer.

Eichenwald Whooaaaa…

We have fun with far-left writer, Kurt Eichenwald. Noting his bitter hatefulness. Or his unhinged responses to Tucker Carlson. His investigation of Hentai tentacle porn and how he deployed his own wife and kids in his public excuse for it. Or how he did a key Trumprussia smear which later lost a lawsuit for his employer, Newsweek magazine.

But I just now happened to come across Debbie Nathan’s article from 2007:

A New York Times reporter not only gave money to a child pornographer, but did business with him and even signed on to an illegal porn website as a member and administrator, documents unsealed yesterday in a federal criminal proceeding in Nashville reveal. He claims in one court document, he only “posed” as a pedophile.

The reporter is Kurt Eichenwald, who quit the Times in October, 2006…

And Eichenwald did write a big story on child porn that was much-praised at first – but, according to court documents, by then he had given thousands of dollars to multiple 18-and-under pornographers to encourage their efforts. And other articles say he posed as Don Henley, and more. Allegedly, Eichenwald’s research involved so many manipulative actions and such intensive “posing” that I had to stop and go “Whoa”. And not in a good way.

Eichenwald would seem to have a history, of privately (not as part of law enforcement) “researching” strange porn in tremendous depth while saying publicly that he does it for the good of others. (Nathan’s article again shows him bringing his wife into his excuses.) Whether you believe Eichenwald is on the level and thus a hero, or something very dark indeed, will be your call.

Coming back to the present, now it seems that Eichenwald and Newsweek are apart (it’s unclear who fired whom). And he has just started a Twitter fight with Wikileaks’ Julian Assange, and lost.

After Eichenwald attacked him in a long series of petty tweets, Assange linked Eichenwald to the CIA (and Assange would know) and exposed Eichenwald’s Amazon pen name, “Andrew McDonald”, by which Eichenwald allegedly fabricates independent, 5-star reviews to his own books. (Hey gang, remember when Sockpuppets were a thing?)

Mr. Eichenwald – get help! Going by your Wikipedia bio (much of which reads as if you wrote it to praise yourself), you could be brain-damaged – you know, that concussion in college that led to your having grand mal seizures. So maybe there’s a medical explanation for your unhinged behavior? Maybe you can still get yourself under control? Best of luck.

This is, from what I understand, the no-kidding, title of the campaign biography HRC is having ghost-written for her.

I know her thesis is going to be: “Russia, Russia, Russia, Comey, Comey, Russia, Russia, Misogyny, Russia” but there are more honest explanations of “What Happened” that will not be explored:

1. “I Was a Terrible Candidate and Everybody Hated Me.”
2. “I Got Lost on the Way to Wisconsin.”
3. “I forgot that winning the popular vote in California where there are no controls on illegal voting doesn’t mean sh-t.”

4. “I hired a Millennial twink to run my campaign with a staff of Brooklyn hipsters who thought campaigning in the Rust Belt was beneath them.”

5. “I didn’t murder enough witnesses.”

Keep it going…

Heh.

Coca-Cola Tries to Become a B-School Case Study Again

Hey, Remember when the Coca-Cola company decided to discontinue a successful product in favor of a new formulation? Yeah, pretty much every human being knows how that turned out… except for the current executives of the Coca Cola company.

On Wednesday, Coca-Cola announced plans to stop selling Coke Zero in the US in August, replacing it with a beverage with a different recipe, design, and name: Coke Zero Sugar.

“It is a reinvention of Coke Zero,” CEO James Quincey said in a call with investors.

Coke Zero Sugar is already a major hit outside the US, with growth figures reaching the teens. In the US, Coke Zero sales grew 3.5% in 2016, compared with Diet Coke’s drop of 1.9% in the same time period.

Maybe it will work this time. Personally, I never cared for Coke Zero. I did like Pepsi One and Pepsi Max, but those, of course, have been discontinued.

Minneapolis Tries to Out-Portland Portlandia

The electorate that gave us Jesse Ventura, Keith Ellison, Al Franken, and Amy Klobuchar is lining up behind a Minneapolis mayoral candidate whose platform includes disarming the police.

State Representative and Minneapolis mayoral candidate Raymond Dehn is calling for major policing changes, proposing to take away guns from the majority of officers.

Dehn is one of several candidates running to beat current Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges in the fall. He recently won the support of voters at the Democratic Farmer Labor convention and now his call to disarm police of their side guns is garnering major attention.

“I’m not saying they don’t have access to that, just like they have access to more lethal weapons in their cars, I would believe they would still have access to their guns in their cars,” said Dehn.

He would be open to officers using other means to protect themselves like a night stick or pepper spray.

The disarm the police plank is precisely what the #BlackLivesMatter hate group has been demanding. Who wants to bet that the police unit charged with mayor’s personal security will continue to carry sidearms?

Trump’s thing with Sessions is weird

President Trump continues to take pot shots at his own appointee, Attorney General Sessions. First, we have to admit where Trump is right. Here’s one example:

Why didn’t A.G. Sessions replace Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, a Comey friend who was in charge of Clinton investigation but got big dollars ($700,000) for his wife’s political run from Hillary Clinton and her representatives. Drain the Swamp!

It’s true.

  • The FBI and DOJ leaderships are indeed politically corrupted. Trump probably hired Sessions to clean them up.
  • Andrew McCabe is indeed a raging Democrat whose wife takes money from Hillary.
  • Special Counsel Mueller does hire only strict Hillary partisans, and looks to be going out of control. (He was supposed to deliver a timely report on 2016 election interference. It looks like that won’t be happening.)
  • Former FBI Director, James “Leaker” Comey, probably was a “fixer” for the Clintons as I explained at length, awhile back.
  • Sessions should indeed be focused on these matters, and on the government leaks (which are probably related to these matters or a good entrance into them) – NOT marijuana.

But, given all that…Why doesn’t Trump just fire him? And don’t say “loyalty”.

The only answer I have thought of yet, is if Trump is afraid that he won’t be able to get a decent replacement for Sessions through the Senate. And it has been a joy, sort of, to see Senate Democrats suddenly rush to Sessions’ defense – after having painted him as a racist during his confirmation hearings.

Having said that: Trump’s public humiliation of his own Attorney General is unseemly and unhelpful. He should either fire Sessions already, or straighten him out – in private.
