At the link, Caitlyn Jenner defends President Trump and expresses a belief in limited government and making the U.S. a better place to do business.
Of course I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I’m glad to see Jenner saying sensible political things to a left-leaning audience. On the other hand, I know that Jenner has willingly served as either a source, or at least a mascot, for some of the rather foolish Transgender Fever that has swept America in the last year or two.
As to transgenders in general: I’m glad when they stand up for their legitimate rights as any human should – for example, practicing self-defense skills with Pink Pistols – and, I’m not glad when adult biological men think they have a right to impose their brand of political correctness on others, take over girls’ bathrooms, etc.
Overall, file this one under “People Are Complex”.
Yes, people are complex, but Victor/Victoria Jenner will likely continue to be seen as a weirdo. Right-of-center types won’t fully embrace him/her because of the deluxe ticket s/he purchased on the Tranny Train and lefties won’t forgive him for expressing support for Republican Party ideals and candidates—and, horror of horrors, lukewarm support for The Orange Menace.
Then there’s the whole association with the Kardashian Five-Ring Circus, which should automatically cast aspersions on anyone connected to it. At least when encouraged to “get your freak on” he can legitimately answer “Been there, done that.”
I find them (to use the indeterminate singular pronoun) refreshing in that they (again, singular indeterminate pronoun) speak their mind, regardless of what others think.
On the other hand, like other celebrities, I wish they would shut up about politics.
I have some sympathy for gender confusion, having experienced something like it when I was a preteen . The only complaint I have with the current transgender movement is the insistence that everyone that has gender dismorphia receive life altering medical treatment and surgery (;at government (meaning us) expense) as the first option. I don’t know if Katlin (ne Bruce) Jenner believes that, but I hope that she/he realizes that he/she makes a handy too for the left.
Mt0, agreed. I have a lot of sympathy for gender confusion. Operative word, though, is that it’s *confusion* – something not quite right. I have sympathy for it like I do for, say, being clinically depressed. I want sufferers to get love and help; not to mutilate their bodies and not to dictate social changes.
Hi ILoveCapitalism,
Any thoughts on Trump’s call to disallow Trans people from serving in the military? Doesn’t seem like limited government to me.
I’m asking why the Justice Department is pursuing removing their protections.
Sorry, Comment #6 for another thread.
