Politics: The Progressive Cult

July 28, 2017 by V the K

A Democrat Senator from Connecticut tweeted this last night.

Last night proved, once again, that there is no anxiety or sadness or fear you feel right now that cannot be cured by political action.

And you thought we were just being snarky in describing progressivism as religion to the left.

Question: If the sides sit down together, is it a clean slate? Anything goes? No conditions?

I am not even going to try to decipher what this means:

Last night proved, once again, that there is no anxiety or sadness or fear you feel right now that cannot be cured by political action.

What I do know is that Schumer has insisted :

“Take repeal off the table. Let him and Speaker Ryan, Mitch McConnell say ‘we’re not repealing’ and we’ll work with them on improving Obamacare. ( … ) If they keep trying to repeal it, we won’t be able to do anything. So of course, we’ll come to them. And it’s about time for the president to act like a president. Not to make people suffer, make things worse by making Obamacare worse, it’s a good bill now, he can try to make it better, that’s fine. But this idea, ‘ha ha ha, people will suffer’ that is not what a president’s supposed to be. We’re not gloating that they failed. We’re sad that they won’t work with us to improve Obamacare.”

If the DemonizingRats want to “fix” healthcare in the U.S. they can not insist that the failed stinker called Obamacare be saved as a condition of being willing to come to the table.

Let Schumer drink the McCain Koolaid and admit that the legislative scam by which Obamacare was crammed into being is why it is such a rotting fish.

So, maybe the magic of “political action” works when howling at the moon, but how do the DemonizingRats explain how “the magic of ‘political action'” caused the horrid shape that Schumer calls “a good bill now” which is crashing and burning as he speaks?

Perhaps the DemonizingRats should bring Robert Creamer, Jonathan Gruber and the Cloward/Piven mavens in to explain how Obamacare could be tweaked.

The plan all along was to crash healthcare, leaving government as the single payer. So, …..

….. are the DemonizingRats willing to take governement as the single payer off the table?

Lets see a vote on that.

Yes. Make them admit the failures of the ACA are features not bugs. Then make them say national health care will never be an option. Then we can proceed with an actual debate.

So my roommate and his girlfriend watched What the Health today. Skeptical of the vegan claims, but I have to admit that they had some pretty ripped vegans on the show. And some research does support the movie’s claims that the American Diebetic and Heart Associations take a lot of money from Big Pharma, which doesn’t exactly help those groups seem independent. So I’m tempted to try doing salads for lunch for a while. Anybody have experience trying it? Promise I won’t turn into a vegan supremacist if I have good results, but I will definitely report whatever success (or failure) I have. I will say though, most of my lunches have just consisted of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. And I don’t really mind not eating meat only one meal a day a lot of days.

I’m having trouble believing that Obamacare is going to implode. It’s impossible for me not to feel totally betrayed by the GOP that I’ve supported. As far as McCain is concerned; it had to be expected that, despite his obvious denial about having a terminal condition, that he would take the opportunity to stick it to the Tea Party Movt, one last time. I hope the final stages of his horrible cancer are protracted & painful before he becomes food for the worms.

The only reason it hasn’t imploded yet is because every time the insurance companies up the premium, the government has been upping the subsidies. Stop that little bit and the ACA will die.

Obviously this politician has never had anxiety, sadness, or fear related to imminent death (either short or long term). Quoting Jars of Clay:

Blessed are the shallow // Depths they’ll never find // Seemed to be some comfort // In rooms I try to hide

And that explains what the left wants these days in a nutshell – shallowness, happiness over joy, stupefaction.

Wow Hanover, tell us how you really feel about John McCain.
Meanwhile in a show of true bi((partisan cooperation, the congress (both House and Senate) passed a raft of new sanctions against Russia. These are special sanctions that Donald Trump cannot negotiate away. This is in response to Russian meddling/ interference in the 2016 election. When asked by a Breitbart reporter where’s the evidence, Globalist John Bolton replied it’s super secret. So there you go , congress getting things done!

@ Hanover: Didn’t we just have a post a week ago lamenting how ghoulish it was for Progressives and alt-righters to celebrate McCain’s impending death? I’ve never liked the guy from a political standpoint, but he’s a human being with a family who are going to mourn his passing, and death by cancer (particularly brain cancer) is a fate I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.

Matthew, my personal opinion, from everything I have seen and read recently, is that the real “collusion” or whatever you want to call it, was going on between the Russians and the Democrats. Whatever it is they have is evidence against themselves, which is why it is super secret and why hard drives keep coming up smashed. Deny, deflect, denounce, defraud, de-mocrat.

TAD I agree, but maybe Rex has access to the super secret knowledge of which the globalist speak. The only solution is to provoke a WAR. The globalists on the left hate Russia because they failed to make the Soviet Union work. The globalists on the right hate the Russians because they refused to play the globalist game, and besides wars are fun, for them.

Sean L., #9, Well, since I’m not a sheep or an Establishment Republican (not saying you are) I make up my own mind on how I view a man that has repeatedly given the finger over the years to conservative agendas, strategic team party actions in order to stop Democrats & their country killing tactics & further things that only a jackass would do. His vindictiveness is legendary & there’s nothing wrong with my memory. Compared to what he’s done this time, essentially supporting unconstitutional mandates to buy a commercial product & supporting the socialization of health care, any non-generous comment on my part is irrelevant.

The Democrats have been trying social medicine for decades & even the Republican line has usually been to be seen as opposing their agenda of altering the Founding Father’s vision of the Republic. But this last petty stupidity makes it quite clear he’s not a leader, he’s only barely been someone that’s followed the Republican platform. Don’t ever think that he would dare to do any of this, were he facing re-election. This is the worst & he doesn’t deserve propriety or generosity. He’d rather burn down the house that admit what he is, a two-faced liar & a myopic nothing not even capable of having the vile globalist vision of his betters. He’s not a genius. He’s not a good man. He’s a fence-sitter & a warmonger.

Politics is not an idle game when it directly affects citizens & their country. Slimy Schumer doesn’t hesitate to stick it to the Right. Nor does Pelosi. We’ve given the Republicans everything they wanted, or should want. Only the minority Freedom Caucus is rational & animals like McCain are just overrated POS.

Thank you for the opportunity to expand on my thoughts, Sean L. My frustration & anger isn’t for anyone here, of course. It’s tough, for me, to be reminded that Establishment is still in control & that the Democrats are still winning.

Tammy Bruce has some quick thoughts on reality, at this point.
