Seymour Hersh, the famous left-leaning but hard-hitting investigative journalist, has apparently endorsed the theory that Seth Rich was the DNC leaker. Big League Politics has an audio recording. Assuming it’s real,
- Hersh claims to know from an FBI report, that was made when D.C. police called in an FBI cyber unit to look at Rich’s laptop after his death.
- Hersh is skeptical of the idea that Seth Rich was murdered for political reasons – although Rich did express concerns to friends that something might happen to him.
- Hersh suggests that Rich’s brother put up obstacles to investigating any Rich-WikiLeaks connection.
- Hersh suggests that the Trump-Russia conspiracy allegations were disinformation planted by Obama’s CIA Director, John Brennan. And that NSA and CIA types (what we call Deep State) are against Trump because, in some unspecified way (I’d like to know more), Trump ends their hopes of getting lucrative private consulting contracts on leaving the government.
Needless to say, if these claims are real, they blow Trumprussia out of the water.
I found it worthwhile to read BLP’s whole article and listen to the recording. UPDATE: Transcript here.
While we’re at it: We know that the House Intelligence Committee started to look into the “unmasking” scandal (where the Obama administration spied on the Trump campaign; zealously doing surveillance and over-zealously “unmasking” the names of Trump operatives who were swept up in it). A key aide to Susan Rice and Obama, Ben Rhodes, has emerged as a ‘person of interest’ in that investigation.
This adds Rhodes to the growing list of top Obama government officials who may have improperly unmasked Americans in communications intercepted overseas by the NSA, Circa has confirmed…
Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power, Rice and former CIA Director John Brennan have all been named in the House Intelligence Committee’s investigation…
…the committee has “found evidence that current and former government officials had easy access to U.S. person information and that it is possible that they used this information to achieve partisan political purposes, including the selective, anonymous leaking of such information.”
Finally, they’re looking!
What I’d like to know is why there isn’t any discussion of this anywhere:
“…it appears that Steven Wasserman, Assistant Attorney for the District of Columbia who is the brother of Debbie Wasserman Schultz, has been tasked with overseeing the investigation of DNC IT employee Imran Awan…”

I was wondering why the Democrat Media all of a sudden today was trying to discredit the Seth Rich case by linking it to TrumpRussiaRussiaRussia. Hersh must be getting hell this evening. Hope he takes the day off tomorrow to change his door locks.
Hanover, exactly. The twittermill says that the lawsuit Tuesday alleging TrumprussiaFoxSethRich collusion is pure BS, another disinformation psy-op for the media/Sheeple.
Poor family can’t even mourn and move on from the loss of their loved one.
Seth Rich was murdered. How can you move on unless someone actually investigates the murder. He was tied to the emails & Wikileaks. It wasn’t a robbery.
Apparently, his murder doesn’t matter to the Democrats. There was no reason for the DC police to stand down unless they wanted to hide something. What was that something?
Grieving family takes second place, or should, when the victim has been murdered. The ONLY reason why Democrats & their supporters DON’T want it investigated is because there is a fear that the Rich was the leaker & the fear that would blow the lid off their oh so precious Russia Collusion false narratives.
It would turn the spotlight back on a woman who is notoriously Corrupt, Inept & Ruthless.
The funny thing is, the things I’ve mentioned are already known, without adding any new info that may see the light of day.
Shame on you.
Hanover, My understanding is that Seth Rich’s role at the DNC was working on an app development for voter outreach. The email leak involved exchanges at a level and nature that had nothing to do with his job. I’m not sure how or why he would have access to this information. My understanding is that the police department investigating his murder found no connection to the Wikileaks leak and believe the murder to have been a bungled robbery attempt. My understanding is that the family is on record of believing that the perpetuating of the conspiracy theories is impeding their ability to mourn the loss of their loved one and move on.
Given the fact the DNC email server was “open” to just about anyone, anyone could be the source of the leaks.
Perhaps his family is denying his involvement out of fear for their own safety.
The fact the Clinton supporters don’t want an investigation certainly makes an investigation necessary.
What do you mean?
Podesta’s password was “password”. Poodle head left her iPad everywhere. Clinton “lost” at least 3 phones. The DNC refused to install anti-phishing software.
1) My understanding is that Seth Rich’s role at the DNC was working on an app development for voter outreach. The email leak involved exchanges at a level and nature that had nothing to do with his job.
2.) I’m not sure how or why he would have access to this information.
3.) My understanding is that the police department investigating his murder found no connection to the Wikileaks leak and believe the murder to have been a bungled robbery attempt.
4.) My understanding is that the family is on record of believing that the perpetuating of the conspiracy theories is impeding their ability to mourn the loss of their loved one and move on.
5.) Therefore what? We should proceed on your understandings and because the family wants to mourn and move on?
Moveon.org. Move on. What difference, at this time, does it make? I didn’t have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. Seth Rich is dead. Can’t we all just move on?
What is your real worry, CrayCray?
I was putting myself in the place of the family members. Big mistake.
I for one find it mystifying that the Rich family – all big DNC donors and activists – aren’t pressing for a more thorough explanation of their son’s death. I would want to know WHY my son was killed, and if it was a “theft” as the DC Police called it, why none of his items like expensive watch and full wallet were taken.
Or is it because they know that if they ask too many questions, they may be next?
I agree with Helio – shame on you, al-Cray-da. Double shame on you.
Regards,
Peter H.
#12, Or someone got a lot of money or a great business contact.
It’s interesting that whenever a scandal hurts Democrats, we’re supposed to “move on” from it as quickly as possible.
But when a scandal hurts Republicans, it has to be thoroughly investigated down to the most minute detail. (“Did Donald Trump know that a Russian banker once used the restroom at the Trump casino?”) And we are never, ever allowed to move beyond it. (“Trump scandal recalls shades of Watergate.”)
Seth Rich keeps popping up in a conspiracy theory as a possible key player. This is Sherlock Holmes territory and the theme of every spy novel which overwhelms the output of Hollyweird, serials on TV, best selling authors and everything dystopian.
The stumblebums in Congress couldn’t find the Eiffel Tower hiding in the IRS scandal. The stumble bums in Congress couldn’t find the Empire State Building hiding in Fast and Furious. The stumble bums in Congress couldn’t find the Niagra Falls hiding in the Benghazi flustercluck. The stumble bums in Congress couldn’t find Lake Erie hiding in the Flynn Intel Leaks.
Do you see a pattern here?
This from Circa:
You may rest assured that U.S. officials and lawmakers who could be exposed in draining the swamp and uncovering the deep state are up to their eyebrows in keeping their hind parts covered.
If, say, Ben Rhodes flips, “what does he know and when did he learn it?” One thing is for certain and that is that Seth Rich is not going to flip. But his computer might. Just like Hillary’s. Just like Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz’s. Just like Lois Lerner’s.
Strange, isn’t it, that so much spying on the sheeple is swept under the carpet, but getting access to the spying equipment of the deep staters is so impossible.
Just a thought: how long would any of them keep their silence if a little water boarding were in play? Ask the Egyptians or the Turks or the Chinese or the Russians or a whole lot of other entities who understand how death sports are refereed. Scratch that. Suppose these folks were to meet the interrogators from Gitmo or the Mossad or Direction Générale de la Sécurité Intérieure who are trained in the art of hard nosed interrogation.
Congressional hearings are a joke, unless a meteor strikes. The establishment, examining the establishment while trying to appealing to the establishment and gather donations and build a voter base do not have the “freedom” to pursue the truth wherever it may lead. They are compelled keep their seat on the establishment merry-go-round as their primary guiding star.
Frankly, our only hope for penetrating all this government steam shoveling and sunlight deflection is for a few good independent investigators to strip the masks away and force the establishment to face irrefutable facts.
It occurs to me that Swimming with Sharks: a Primer by Voltaire Cousteau is worth resurrecting at this time in order to understand why and how all wings of the various establishment entities are behaving as they are.
What would be really interesting is if there is anyone from the Obama administration who wasn’t a corrupt ideologue. The man was like a turd for flies of evil.
Just FYI. I’ve long taken a position that, while we can say Rich was the DNC leaker based on Julian Assange’s statements about it, we should be careful about saying whether his murder was a “hit” in retaliation. Scott Adams had a talk recently where he made a number of interesting points on those lines: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LD0WmiMF_Es
In brief – If it were a hit, the assassin should have known enough to use a high-effect caliber, put at least one bullet in the brain, and maybe take the wallet to help it look like a robbery. That’s all like, Assassin 101. The killer did none of those things. The killer used a .22 (the weakest handgun), did no head shot, and left the wallet. Rich lived in a bad neighborhood and was shot on a street in the wee hours. The scenario suggests a mugging or other encounter gone awry, where Rich fought back, making the other guy shoot, and then the other guy flees instantly (rather than stay around and be witnessed by people from windows). In other words, the other guy went in expecting that he wouldn’t have to shoot.
One counter-argument would be if the killer was a white-collar type who only ever carries a .22 (not a pro assassin). But would such a person have it in them to take such a chance?
I am comfortable thinking that Seth Rich turning up murdered is a compelling “coinkydink” which sets the conspiracy crowd to speculating.
If the “coinkydink” puts the Seth Rich story on the front burner, that is a good thing.
No matter what the details may be, Seth Rich was either murdered or he innocently walked into the path of a bullet flying by.
By the way:
If I’ve ever seen “crocodile tears”, that is the moment. Oh yeah, anytime Chuck Schumer cries as well.
Exactly. Murders are investigated until an answer is found (or should be), because SOCIETY needs to know.
Again, I’m uncommitted to the theory that Seth was murdered politically. But, that he was the DNC leaker? Another story. And society needs to know about that, too; one way or the other.
Especially at a small- to medium-sized employer with lax security, it’s common for computer-savvy employees to poke around for whatever servers or files they can find. I worked at a place once where an application engineer had access to everyone’s HR file. Just because the security was that bad, and he was that curious, and it needed relatively little computer knowledge.
