The Faustian Bargain of the left is the promise of unlimited sexual license without judgment or consequences in exchange for your complete submission to their social, ideological, political, and economic agenda. And the NY Times pretty much admits that I am totally 100% right about that.
The pogroms, the gulags, the bread lines, the all-powerful police state … yeah, all that mind of sucked. But the sex was fantastic. They prove it by… interviewing a handful of Communist women who claim sex was better under Communism.
The author – a feminist university professor – hails authoritarian Communism for its ability to impose social change without the consent of the governed.
Those comrades’ insistence on government intervention may seem heavy-handed to our postmodern sensibilities, but sometimes necessary social change — which soon comes to be seen as the natural order of things — needs an emancipation proclamation from above.
This University feminist probably lives very well in a gated suburb and has no idea how women in communist countries lived. Leftists choosing to live under socialism, communism, etc.. are like wild animals wanting to live in a cage.
Sex is always better when you aren’t sure if you will be alive the next day. Soviet citizens never knew when the State would come for them so they enjoyed life while they could.
So sex is better when you are being worked/starved to death in the Gulag. Who knew?
Feminists love prostitution, child abuse and pedophiles.
They’re going to think they had better sex under Communism because that’s all they had in life. Overcompensation & disillusionment is so common, in various phases of any demographic on the planet. Especially within authoritarian states.
If you say, to a US Liberal, that you’re going to leave their bedroom antics alone quid pro quo if they cooperate with your political agenda, they’re going to comply. Because they think people are threatening their sexual lives from outside just because there may or not be disapproval. Such a scam.
Nice Mussolini paraphrase in the subject, V the K.
If deprivation means a better sex life then North Korea must be a veritable orgy of the flesh.
The images out of Venezuela look to me like a people consumed with lust – randy little blighters.
does anybody really believe this?
A hypothetical conversation between two Antifa members dating:
A: “What’s your favorite position?”
B: “The Commissar.”
A: “Never heard of it.”
B: “It’s when you have a fascist pig on his knees with his gun to his head.”
A: “Sounds hot, want to do it.”
B: “Sure. On your knees, imperialist dog!”
A: “Wait, I didn’t mean-”
BLAM
I think that there is grains of truth in this article. This would explain the part of the hysterical overreaction by some feminists to Trump’s election. The weird thing is he never expressed any desire to control anybody’s sex lives.Of all the candidates for the nomination, he seemed less interested in the sex lives of others. (Which surprised me, when he got the endorsement of the theocrats on the right.)His attitude seems to be ,party on, but don’t stick someone else with the tab.
I want someone to deport this genius to either of North Korea or Eritrea, let the professor simmer for a good while over there (a couple decades will do) and then go conduct an interview about the professor’s sexual life improvement throughout the
ordealenviable experiment. They are not even trying to hide their desire for us to live under Communism anymore. Now they are using propaganda to promote it. This article isn’t really about sex, you guys. It’s really about how supposedly much better women had it under Communism than they do under Capitalism. Apparently, in spite of suffering, it was better because women could work in whatever job they wanted with all the perks they needed. Of course they leave out the part where when the woman (and the men) was going into high school, the state determined whether you would be a laborer or administrator, and once that choice was made for you, you were stuck there for the rest of your life. The whole story is never told…only what supports the agenda.
For someone who claims the sex was so great under totalitarian rule, she is blissfully ignoring (or alternately, just really stupid) the very likely fact that most women in that time probably didn’t have a lot to say about their sex lives. This leftist intelligentsia wet dream of two equal and kindred souls uniting in common thought and carnal commonality is mostly just that and rarely happened, even in university circles.
Women were considered property of men, or at the very least, subjugated to them just as they were in the West for many decades. As such, I would be pretty skeptical that most women had the right or the opportunity to refuse sexual relations, lest they seem prone to falling down stairs and running into doors. Today we’d call that ‘marital rape’. But the past is always better than today and the grass is always greener on the other side of the concrete wall or barbed wire fence.
@12 Yes, my Mom can vouch for that. So can my Grandparents and all the other relatives. Once the Arrow Cross was driven out from Hungary, which hunted and killed certain parts of my family, the Soviets took over and they were godless, ruthless, thieving pieces of shit. Same carousel, different unicorn. A good 50 years wasted with their so-called “progress.” Not to mention, the bloody revolution of 1956.
