The Left shuts down another rally for peace

An Aug. 26 rally planned at Crissy Field by the group Patriot Prayer has San Francisco politicians from Rep. Nancy Pelosi to Mayor Ed Lee denouncing it as hateful, with warnings that past rallies by the group have attracted white supremacists. In the wake of this news, Joey Gibson, the prominent organizer of Patriot Prayer, has decided to speak out.

I added emphasis to “attracted”, because what a strange construction!

Media don’t say that Joey Gibson or Patriot Prayer are racist. No, no, no. They know it to be false (and you’ll see why, below). Here’s another example, “His group in the past has organized other events that have attracted white supremacists…”

They’re saying that, because white supremacist *troublemakers might decide on their own* to show up and manufacture trouble, Gibson/PP’s activities are then “hateful” and Gibson/PP’s constitutional right to peaceably assemble should be denied.

I’ve never seen a better indicator that the constant rumors might be true of David Duke, Richard Spencer, etc. being on the government’s and/or Left’s payroll. What a way to shut down anything with “prayer” or “patriot” in it! Create fake (or at least irrelevant) charges of white supremacy. But, to continue:

[Examiner] What do you say to San Francisco’s oppositional reaction to your rally?

[Gibson] …I constantly promote love. In love, you don’t see skin color. I’m trying to focus on who people are on the inside…There’s a lot of liberals I have common ground with. Moderates.

[Examiner] OK, if you’re down the middle, who do you agree with on the left?

[Gibson] In my view, half of America. Gay rights, being against the drug war…

[Examiner] In a Facebook live event you said San Francisco is disgusting. What did you mean?

[Gibson] Downtown San Francisco just looks horrible. I’m not blaming the left. It’s the hate, and the drugs.

[Examiner] Do you mean the homeless?

[Gibson] No. I used to be homeless…

[Examiner] What ethnicity are you, by the way?

[Gibson] I’m Japanese.

[Examiner] How do you feel about the political pushback?

[Gibson] Pelosi is lying for her own selfish reasons. She quadrupled the size of the rally. She made it more dangerous, with complete lies.

[Examiner] What about San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee?

[Gibson] It’s the same. It’s a complete lie for political gain [that the rally is a white supremacist rally].

[Examiner] But your rallies have attracted white supremacists, skinheads and neo-Nazis before. Why should anyone believe they will not, again?

[Gibson] We won’t let any extremists speak. We’ll let moderates speak. It’s a big part of the goal. We have 10 speakers now, and out of them, we have one white male speaking…We made signs saying we don’t support Identity Europa. I’ve literally disowned white supremacists [in his videos]…

Also, here’s a link to video where Gibson identifies as a “person of color” (his term) and emphasizes that Patriot Prayer is about spirituality and unity.

Now, what did Nasty Pelosi have to say about this guy? She called his rally “white supremacist”, flat out, then tried to imply that the Trump White House was behind San Francisco’s local decision to permit the rally.

This is a dark moment. The Alt Left – including Nancy Pelosi and other politicians who enjoy the Alt Left’s hateful violence and refuse to limit or deny it anything – has taken America to a very bad place. Half of America is to be stripped of its constitutional rights to speech and assembly, based on demagoguing the other half with lies/delusions.

I’m sorry to say that Breitbart’s role in all this was not good; they initially joined the “white supremacist” smear, and had to correct. Uncharacteristic.

  2. Leftists invented “hate crimes” and “hate speech” in order to give them a way to distort, manipulate, confound and control the narrative.

    “Hate speech” is presumptive: Hate is inferred as the most “reasonable” explanation, but hate defies specific definition. As with all “concept” terms, “hate” is largely in the sensory eye of the beholder.

    As Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart said of “obscenity” in Jacobellis v. Ohio: “I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of material I understand to be embraced within that shorthand description [“hard-core pornography”], and perhaps I could never succeed in intelligibly doing so. But I know it when I see it, and the motion picture involved in this case is not that.”

    The court had to come to grips with the “I know it when I see it standard” and it came up with “workable” criteria. That same process will have to be applied to “hate” if the Southern Poverty Law Center is going to continue to put the Scarlet Letters of H-A-T-E on people and groups.

    Furthermore, the pious, sanctimonious, righteous lefties so H-A-T-E-S “hate speech” that they subject themselves to inquisition by “haters” who oppose them. “Are not” – “are so” – and so forth ad infinitum. It is of little comfort that leftists “know hate speech when they encounter it.” That is the presumptive basis for all social justice warriorism.

  4. Speaking of odd constructions, NPR says Violence “erupted” at the giant left-wing rally. People weren’t doing violence, y’see. It just sort of “erupted.” Like a volcano. Or a pimple. Or an outbreak of syphilis.

  5. In SF a couple days ago, they didn’t even have opponents, yet they were still violent. But I guess that some opponents (assuming they weren’t paid actors) showed up in Berkeley.

  6. Breitbart is using “right wing” in the throwback to the 1950’s John Birch meaning. John Birch was anti-communist and limited government.

    White supremacy has ZERO to do with communism or limited government. It is neither right not left wing per se. But neither is it any sort of We the People popular sovereignty concoction. It is apartheid first and whatever develops in the way of governance second.

    By 2017 standards, you could say that US-style popular sovereignty is way left and all other forms – statist, dictatorship, monarchy, theocracy, oligarchy – are to the right. Since socialism is statist, it would be rightist.

    In 2017, pointing to the right and left has become so convoluted that is becomes practically useless.

    The “Progressives” see everything evil being “conservative.” For Progressives, “conservatives” want to protect everything from the past, like slavery, Nazis, KKK, shoot-outs, racism, bashing gays, keeping women as toys, drowning kittens and beating orphans.

    Progressives demagogue, demonize, malign, and divide all in the name of progress toward the ideal of wealth redistribution and state responsibility for egalitarianism, full care of all human needs, and peace and harmony. All Communists sell the dream to the dissatisfied, disgruntled, discontented, malcontent, frustrated, antagonistic and seditious.

    Progressives exploit the tragedy of the breakdown of the family, they stoke mob psychology, they instill fear of being politically incorrect, they cultivate ignorance and teach ideology, they inflame resentments, hatreds and beat people with guilt sticks. They are the most bile fueled, unhappy people you can meet.

    Progressives cultivate anger and resentment. They manipulate the “news” and “education” and the language to create thought patterns, malign, and unleash boogeymen who hide behind the trees, in your closet and walk in your shadow.

    Progressives unleashed “white privilege” on us. In everywhere we go and everything we do a squawking voice says: “white privilege,” “white privilege,” “white privilege.”

    In The Rape of the Mind, author Joost Meerloo wrote of mob psychology as “the oldest psycho-drama in the world.” It has been front and center throughout world history. The French Revolution is a classic example. Meerloo described the mob psycho-drama as “esthetic participation in mass elation.” Imagine a people who draw their “joy” from destruction.

    All one need do to understand how our “right-left” terminology is flip-flopping around is to look at how the committees during the French Revolution turned themselves inside out and ate their own.

    Progressives have no agenda to put to a vote. That is not their game. They spread like cancer until the host is destroyed and then they eat one another. Finally, a Hitler or Lenin or Mao arises and the opposition is turned into compost.

    Here in KC, we’re regularly treated to news about violence “erupting” and “communities plagued by violence” as if violence were a volcano or a rainy hurricane that just won’t move on.

    Kind of like the term “gun crime” as if the gun got a wild hair and decided to go out and pop someone.
