Republican “Conservatism” has proven the axiom that every movement begins as a cause, becomes a business, and ends up as a racket. Republicans have run on conservative platforms promising fiscal responsibility, limiting the Federal Government, school choice, border security, and other issues for almost thirty years and they have delivered exactly none of what they promised. But they have become part of an over-privileged Washington political elite that lives in the highest stratosphere of luxury while middle America decays as jobs are shipped overseas, cheap workers are imported to take the jobs that remained, and the former middle class is sentenced to opioid dependency because of the lobbying efforts of Big Pharma.

Meanwhile, the left has simply gone bat-guano crazy, telling us that “whiteness” is a malignant pathology, the values of hard-work and personal responsibility are “racist,” the are at least 58 different genders and if you don’t learn and use the correct pronoun for each of them, you should go to jail, Christianity is contemptible while Islam is laudable, boys should be silent in school and be dominated by girls (and drugged into somnambulism if they act like boys), college men lose all Constitutional rights if a feminist accuses them of rape, free speech should be violently opposed, women should wear p*ssy hats and stupid Handmaiden bonnets to protest against a Christian theocracy that exists only in their fevered, deranged minds.

According to Kurt Schlichter, it’s time for us normal people to reclaim our identities and stand up to both the slimy faux-conservatives of the faux-right, and the screaming nut-jobs of the far left.

Who are the normals? The Americans who built this country, and defended it. When you eat, it’s because a normal grew the food and another normal trucked it to you. When you aren’t murdered in the street or don’t speak German, it’s because a normal with a gun made those things not happen. We normals don’t want to rule over others. We don’t obsess about how you live your life, but also we don’t want to be compelled to signal our approval or pick up the tab. We are every color and creed – though when someone who is incidentally a member of some other group aligns with normals, he/she/xe loses that identity. The left drums normals who are black out of its definition of “black,” just as normal women get drummed out of womanhood and normal gays get drummed out gayhood. In a way, the left is making E pluribus unum a reality again – to choose to be normal is to choose to reject silly identity group identification and unite. Instead of saying “normal Americans,” you can just say “Americans.”

Militant normality is growing as normals awaken to the indisputable truth of our enemy’s implacable hatred for us and everything we hold dear – like America. The sight of moron sportsball players disrespecting normals warms libs’ frigid little hearts – and make no mistake, that diss is aimed straight at us, not at some musical number. All these cultural aggressions are aimed at us, from demanding you obey their pronoun proclamations to requiring your daughter share a toilet with a dude in a skirt. This is how they seek to break us.

Personally, I’m going to start self-identifying as a “Four Lights Conservative,” based on the scene in Star Trek: The Next Generation when a Cardassian tries to break Captain Picard’s will by torturing him until he agrees that there are five lights in the background, when there are actually four.

As Orwell noted, Totalitarian Regimes gain psychological power over their subjects by forcing them to admit what they know not to be true. If the state says “2+2=5,” then its subject must be forced to say, and ultimately believe, that 2+2=5. Thus, does the left try to break the will of the normal by forcing us to deny reality, to deny truth. And we must find in ourselves the will to resist and not be broken.

“There are 58 genders.”

“There… are … 2… sexes!”

“Antifa are like the heroes who stormed the beaches at D-Day.”

“Antifa… are… violent… fascists!”

“White people should be punished for their privilege.”

“There … is… no… white… privilege!”

“Women never lie about rape.”

“Due Process … is… a human right!”

“The Science is settled and climate change is a fact.”

“Science… is… never… settled!”

I guess the trick is to use those ellipses like Patrick Stewart, and not the wheel-chair bound asthmatic kid on Malcolm in the Middle.

    Fixed it.
    You’re welcome. 🙂

  4. the only time a republican politician is a conservative is when they run for office. the official purpose of the republican wing of the democrat party is to make sure that anybody that would oppose the policies of the democrat party never gets elected to office.

  5. We are now at the point where words stop. Sometimes there needs to be a clear winner. The left claims superiority because they use words. I don’t choose to fight on the battleground selected by my enemy. Sometimes violence IS the answer no matter how reluctantly it is used.

  6. Conservatism, Inc. certainly has its panties in a wad. My thoughts on “why” vary, day to day.

My feeling today is that they’re reacting to the fact that a fair number of voters figured out that “Cons”., Inc. is full of manure.

Yes, we must have principles and the reasoning that backs them up but you have to win battles for principles to matter. Otherwise, it’s a circle jerk.

When the GOP wants to know why it’s base is peeved, it could look at our esteemed “Gentlemen from Kansas”

Sen. Jerry Moran: Numbers USA grade: F-
The rest of the delegation scores C (or worse).

Why vote for a KS Republican when he votes like a California Democrat on existential issues?

  8. @5:

I’ll fight on the battleground of words because words are meaningless to the Left. They chose the weapons without understanding them: witness the reaction of a Leftist caught in a logical inconsistency. Violence is all the Left has, but as with words, it’s only effective to the extent others allow it.

  9. Could have been bad, but would rather, be nice to my neighbor, could have been bad but couldn’t dismiss what my mom….taught me, and father, he chimed in when he was off work, could have been bad, somehow it worked…..could of been bad, real bad, but I fell in love with God’s only son….who could have been bad, but took it…the beatings……….the beatings I should have taken….He could have been bad…and walked away from the cross…could have called ten thousand angels to save him from the cruel cross…..but he choose to give me a could have been doomed, but now saved by His blood, his patience under stress….SOYOU GOT STRESS? Think about how much your potential savior gave for your opportunity to be saved forever and sing with the angels around Gods throne of God…..I suggest throwing away all drum sets, electric guitars cymbals and loud mockery….and listen to what the real spirit of God, said His other part of the Godhead wants…it…ain’t loud music, dancing or whooping it up….it is obedience that God wants. God let His son be humiliated, beaten and ridiculed……and there were nothing more than the voice of the believers that He wanted….You think for a moment, God wants rock music, rap music or other trash in worship of Him….He let his son come down to this sin sick planet….to save souls, not gather up a band of musicians.. You can tell where God is on the Lord’s Day….Look around, if there are drummers, or clowns, or other things to draw a crowd….the Father of my Redeemer is not there. You think for a minute that God likes your music…no…OK…as written in the God breathed word….God wants those that worship Him To worship HIM (GOD) in spirit and in truth. How much truth have you gleamed from the God breathed word…..?

  11. I am french. So, here’s why, unsurprisingly, I have definitely surrendered…

… on “my” people, anyway :

Terrorism will be an inponderable part of our daily lives for many years to come.

Emmanuel Macron, French presidential candidate favorite, 2017

To me, that was the turning point… with no return.

    The zombies cannot be saved.

Or, as you put it in English : “you can’t fix stupid”.

    Stupor [stoo´por], noun:

    1) partial or nearly complete unconsciousness;
    2) a state of lethargy and immobility wherein a sufferer is almost entirely unresponsive and only responds to base stimuli such as pain.

  12. @ Robin: Be very careful when you invoke violence. Once you do, the history books only care about who wins. Now, if Antifa and BLM rise up in concerted armed rebellion, then by all means, have at them.

  15. If the GOP can’t successfully legislate a health-care bill after 8-years of yak-yak-yak, they’re unfit to govern. It’s that basic. the control both Houses, and the Executive (nominally LOL).

Eight YEARS to talk amongst themselves, to hammer-out a workable compromise.

Eight YEARS to negotiate with a handful of like-minded Democrats who could have been cajoled or bought to side with the GOP in this.

They didn’t have to scrap it, just make some modifications…and they bungled it time-after-time with their infighting and showboating.

Term limits, term limits, term limits, term limits, term limits!

  16. Susan Collins is showboating to set her self up to run for Governor of Maine. She is addicted to the Sunday morning talk shows.

Now, McConnell should have used her positions on committees to get her to back this new/last attempt. Instead he just bumbled his way through it. Add in McCain and term limits seem the best thing.

  17. And the sad FACT is the average voter — conservative, progressive or liberal — will re-elect their incumbent no-matter how corrupt, how incompetent or how mendacious …all the while decrying how corrupt, incompetent and mendacious their Congresscritters, Governor and the State House thieves are, and that they should be thrown-out and replaced.

    Comment by Ted B. (Charging Rhino) — September 26, 2017 @ 4:55 pm - September 26, 2017

  18. @15: Ted, hence the desperate need for term limits. Of course, since politicians have to be the ones to propose limits (including state pols that could call a Constitutional Convention to do it) and since pols tend to be kind of sleazy, it won’t happen.

When election time comes round, the incumbent usually coasts to reelection because opponents are either kookier than the incumbent or (more common) don’t have the means to get his/her name into the debate.

And, as a usually-GOP voter, the Dem candidate is usually so far left and/or nuts that there’s no option (and believe me, there’ve been plenty of times I’d like to have seen a viable Demo opponent – if for no other reason that to keep the GOP drone nervous).

I do feel sorry for GOP pols, however: the GOP base tends to be less forgiving that the Dem base. Dems stand behind Pelosi no matter how nutty she gets; Paul Ryan tends to receive mostly scorn from the GOP base.
