And of course, our regular trolls would find nothing at all wrong with this beyotch’s statement. SMH…

CBS needs to fire this person. Now.
And how would she react if I said, for example, I’m not even sympathetic to campus rape victims because they often wear provocative clothing and makeup and drink too much and stay out too late?
Never like a crisis go to gun-grabbing waste… The Dhimmicrats just can’t bring themselves to be electable in the Red States.
RIP to the victims of this shooting. This was a heinous act that is absolutely dumbfounding.
And what that woman said is indeed vile. I denounce what she said, as well as anyone who says anything remotely like this.
Disgusting all the way around.
They have been fired. CBS has some sense.
Cray, I don’t know why many of the denizens of this blog lump you in with mike et al. You don’t always take a counter position like they do.
She’ll probably be offered tenure at Columbia University.

I just found out what happened. She made a disgusting and horrifying comment. I imagine that she will get her butt (metaphorically) kicked but good over that comment.
Oh – my – goodness. (blink …. blink …. blink)
The Upper West Side b-itch tweets and the whole world is S-H-O-C-K-E-D !!! S-H-O-C-K-E-D !!!! There is SNARK in the Upper West Side? S-H-O-C-K-E-D !!!! What would Colbert say? Letterman? Maher? Schumer? Weiner?
Happily, no one amongst the superior elite would ever call country music people and fans deplorables, rednecks, or imbeciles. Nuh uh. Never happen.
But —– what about free speech? Maybe she should have taken a knee.
Steven Colbert is every bit as vile, on the public airwaves. And CBS not only won’t fire him they promote him constantly. I liked Elementary and the Big Bang Theory, but I am done with CBS forever.
@3: that ship has sailed. The (female) mayor of Cologne had similar sentiments a couple years back after the New Years Eve groping frenzy. Apparently, the answer is to have the women adopt a code of conduct.

I hate the politicization of these atrocities – that will come soon enough but within 24 hours?! The ex-CBS exec must be dumber than soup – too dumb to know that not every “thought” must be given voice.
My uninformed opinion is that this character was crazy. Recent or long-term crazy, I suppose we’ll find out.
I hope family and friends of the victims can find peace. FWIW.
Makes you wonder how many times a day on average she wishes for the death of whoemever she has prior deemed “deplorable”, to use a modern token.
As far as CBS is concerned, I’m sure that the only thing this executive did wrong is to clearly articulate in public what most of the folks there were thinking.

She ought to go get a job in North Korea, Venezuela, or Cuba. They would happily give her a bully pulpit.
The local anti gun Progressive newspaper is not covering this story. The online moderator has removed two comments that contained links to the CBS exec rant.
@18 What a surprise.
Kurt: Thank you, I also had a similar take.
Mr Truthiness is CBS’ cash cow at the moment. Once in third place in the late night talk show ratings game and in danger of being canceled, he has given new hope and continued life to La Résistance, the collection of coastal liberals who are still aghast and in denial about the outcome of the 2016 election. However once 2025 rolls around and with it perhaps an occupant in the White House who is more sympathetic to their cause, he will once again fade into relative obscurity.
The problem with being a comedian best known for having a political bent is that your fortunes are tied to those who support your political POV. As drips like Chelsea Handler and Kathy Griffin are slowly finding out, that only works out for you to a certain point. The key to success in show business–much like regular business–is to appeal to as wide a customer base as possible. If you fail to do that, your success will be limited over the long term. This is one reason most entertainers these days have a career lifespan on par with the lifespan of the average Apple device.
