Harvey Weinstein: Excellent Progressive

Bump: Harvey Weinstein was an even better progressive Democrat than I thought:

I was sent, on Election Eve 2000, to cover a book party [Weinstein] was hosting, along with my colleague Andrew Goldman.

Weinstein didn’t like my question about O, there was an altercation; though the recording has alas been lost to time, I recall that he called me a cunt and declared that he was glad he was the “fucking sheriff of this fucking lawless piece-of-shit town.” When my colleague Andrew (who was also then my boyfriend) intervened, first calming him down and then trying to extract an apology, Weinstein went nuclear, pushing Andrew down a set of steps inside the Tribeca Grand — knocking him over with such force that his tape recorder hit a woman, who suffered long-term injury — and dragging Andrew, in a headlock, onto Sixth Avenue.

Such was the power of Harvey Weinstein in 2000 that despite the dozens of camera flashes that went off on that sidewalk that night, capturing the sight of an enormously famous film executive trying to pound in the head of a young newspaper reporter, I have never once seen a photo. Back then, Harvey could spin — or suppress– anything; there were so many journalists on his payroll, working as consultants on movie projects, or as screenwriters, or for his magazine.

At least he let the reporters live. “Rookie mistake,” said Hillary.

In 2015, [Weinstein’s]company distributed “The Hunting Ground,” a documentary about campus sexual assault. A longtime Democratic donor, he hosted a fund-raiser for Hillary Clinton in his Manhattan home last year. He employed Malia Obama, the oldest daughter of former President Barack Obama, as an intern this year, and recently helped endow a faculty chair at Rutgers University in Gloria Steinem’s name. During the Sundance Film Festival in January, when Park City, Utah, held its version of nationwide women’s marches, Mr. Weinstein joined the parade.

What a great guy. How perfectly emblematic of the Democrat Left’s commitment to women’s equality and fundamental dignity.

He also funded a program for aspiring female directors at USC.

What a guy.

I mean, apart from that one thing.

  1. Weinstein is a predatory slob who forces women to foul themselves in this games of debauchery. Try raising pigs and you will see what fat, greasy pigs do.

Harvey Weinstein is a fat, greasy pig. [Is it “worse” to call a person a “fat, greasy pig” if he is Jewish? Maybe. But if Harvey is Jewish, what does that mean? Nothing about being Jewish allows the person to act like a fat, greasy pig.]

Hollyweird is full of whores who will service Harvey. Ask the ghost of Hugh Hefner. Times Square, down the street from Weinstein’s playhouse, is full of painted naked girls who would probably massage him raw for a couple of tacos.

But, for the fat, greasy pig, it is about the hunt and the consensual rape. He needs his fat, greasy ego fed and he needs to feel confidently powerful and dominating. He is such a loser that he enjoys preying upon the weakest.

Now, just why the Great Flaming Hollyweird Feminists don’t chew him up and spit him out is the real question. Maybe they don’t eat pigs.

  11. I think CCP (#2) is right in this case. From what I’ve observed at a distance over the years, Hollywood more than any other industry is built on vague relationships and connections and not wanting to anger certain powerful people or wanting to curry favor with others.

Weinstein probably is involved in about three years worth of production money deals, which will have to be redone or abandoned.

Pink hats and “hear me roar” (sorry to borrow from you Helen Reddy, from what I can tell you have a clear eye and a good head on your shoulders) seem great, but they don’t want to destroy the system that gives them money and fame and the appearance of being important.

  12. Would CCP give the same excuse to a conservative Washington power broker?

The executives of the fossil fuel industry?

Are the women of Hollywood weak?

What CCP is saying that as long as white men control an industry the feminists inside (and outside) the industry should remain silent?

“I came of age in the ’60s and ’70s, when all the rules about behavior and workplaces were different,” Weinstein said in a statement given to CNNMoney. “That was the culture then. I have since learned it’s not an excuse, in the office — or out of it.”

I came of age in the ’60s and ’70s, I knew not to be a sexual predator. What a Progressive POS this guy is.

  13. OK, CrayCray,

Weinstein hangs out in New York City. Manhattan to be exact. That place is the Valhalla of extreme liberal feminism. IF Harvey, the Big Fat Greasy Pig were Donald Trump, what color roses would the the Manhattan Liberal Pussy Hat Feminists lay at his feet???????

Here is exactly how it works, CrayCray, and it ain’t rocket science:

Liberal Pussy Hat Feminists are moral reprobates who calculate when to scream about their woman parts and when to use them for personal gain.

The New York Times story began thus:

Two decades ago, the Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein invited Ashley Judd to the Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel for what the young actress expected to be a business breakfast meeting. Instead, he had her sent up to his room, where he appeared in a bathrobe and asked if he could give her a massage or she could watch him shower, she recalled in an interview.

Here’s a gem. Why, by God, it is Ashley Judd pissing and moaning as a pious, upright, no fear Feminist ready to rip Donald Trump’s man parts off.

But CrayCray says that women in Hollyweird are powerless against Democrat greasy pigs. That is how it is. It isn’t rocket science.

So, let me get this straight. Feminists are bold and powerful only when Democrat liberal, greasy pig men allow them to be powerful. Feminists are stooges. They are part of the useful idiot brigades of the DemonizingRats who are in it for scraps and a pat on the fanny.

Is that how it works, CrayCray? I would ask Roman Polanski, but he is away.

Andrew Malcolm states brilliantly: “If people don’t want to go to the movies, you can’t stop them.”

Hollywood’s domestic summer box office in down an historic 16% from last year.

The Oscars and other award extravaganzas have become pro forma, political posturing meant to persuade the peasants and peons of how the glitterati see perfection and their viewing numbers are in the toilet.

Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, Alec Baldwin, Michael Moore and so many other DemonizingRat choristers are riding the waves of discontent and building nothing of value or significance. The liberals only talk to each other in a desperate exhibition of like-minded people needing like-minded people and they have no humor. No joy. Nothing that redeems.

There you have it. CrayCray says that Hollyweird is a predatory. immoral cesspool where victims have no voice. Sounds like the typical socialist gulag to me.

So, CrayCray, how’s that LGBTQRSXYZ victim plan working out for you in the real world of Hollyweird? Do the fat greasy pigs use you and abuse you? Or are you on the ascendency and soon you will be able to force people to obey your whims?

O wad some Power the giftie gie us
To see oursels as ithers see us!
It wad frae mony a blunder free us,
    An’ foolish notion:
What airs in dress an’ gait wad lea’e us,
    An’ ev’n devotion!

  15. TheQuietMan 2 #11 speaks the truth:

Pink hats and “hear me roar” (….) seem great, but they don’t want to destroy the system that gives them money and fame and the appearance of being important.

That makes them whores for fame and fortune. It is the ages old central theme. Nothing new here, except the parades, the posturing and the pussy hats.

Morality and ethics are not relative to the situation and circumstances. But a Hollyweird whore must “do what must be done” and so they invent and rely upon moral relativism and situation ethics. You learn to stand on the slippery slope. And show some side boob.

Hollyweird works like a feudal entity with no known head of state. It has no rules, no justice system, no code of ethics. Power forces emerge and exert pressure to cooperate within the life of a given agreement. Agents and enforcers abound exerting pressures and ameliorating conflicts. Within this feudal society, pride, conduct, consciousness of one’s own worth and bullying tactics are the keys to ultimate power. They do not have an association such as the mafia, but they have a sort of a code in which everyone is a sitting duck and those who keep lions on a leash are grudgingly respected.

When your entire worth is based on glamor, sex appeal and box office, you are forever facing the Hollyweird fact that: “Life’s but a walking shadow, A poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

Weinstein the fat, greasy pig has come to the part where the spit and roasting are staring him the face. “The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ, Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line, Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.” ― Omar Khayyám. Next up: Weinstein sues and blows and huffs and puffs and reduces himself to the level of mere mortal. Who cares?

    Comment by CrayCrayPatriot — October 6, 2017 @ 12:14 am – October 6, 2017

So why aren’t “feminists” screaming about it, especially since the line coming out of the babbling left is that this has been known for years?

Short answer: because it is not about women being empowered. It is solely about Democrat political power.

As long as you donate to and vote Democrat, you can rape, sexually assault, and grab all the pussy you want.

Which means all these Democrat “strong women” like Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Kamala Harris, Sally Yates, and La Chica Loca down in Puerto Rico are a) utter hypocrites, b) malicious opportunists, and c) fake, fake, fake.

    Comment by North Dallas Thirty — October 6, 2017 @ 1:26 pm - October 6, 2017

  17. Also, this explains to me why Democrats are so obsessed with “The Handmaid’s Tale”.

They already live it. Hillary and the other Democrat “strong women” whose entire reality revolves around hating men are the Wives.

Women that men actually want to have like Ashley Judd, Monica Lewinsky, and the like are the Handmaids.

“Feminists” like Jessica Valenti and the motley Jezebel crew who are constantly whipping women who dare step out of line and programming them to obey Democrats blindly are the Aunts.

And Democrat males are either Commanders of the Faith or aspiring to be.

Once you realize that, all Democrats’ other obsessions become obvious.

They hate marriage and families because the only value children have to them are as trophies and playthings.

They demand abortion and birth control because the Commanders don’t want to have to deal with bastards and because the Wives don’t want to be humiliated too regularly.

They want men who aren’t True Believers in the Faith to be blocked from any type of relationship or intercourse (hence their “rape culture” screeches while indulging neckbeard pajama boys raping and harassing anything that moves)

Amazing. The best fiction DOES spring from reality.

  18. If a truly-progressive journalist wanted to due some really useful Hollywood muckraking, they’d investigate what’s really up in the “Two Coreys” mystery. There’s something “there” so explosive that’s it strictly-taboo to openly talk about it….even though the Statute of Limitations has run-out on some of it. And it’s still claiming victims and young lives.

  19. Ted B.’s comment @ #18 lifts the lid on another aspect of the fame and fortune cesspool that is Hollyweird. Drugs, sex, alcoholism, pedophilia replete with pimps and groomers, and whole story line of The Devil’s Advocate which lays out Utopia for the depraved, amoral wet-dreamer.

So much within the Hollyweird world is peppered with the dream-like, mind-bending, mind-altering, mind-expanding, mind-blowing, bizarre, surreal, hallucinatory and forced expansion of consciousness. How do they do that? [That question is purely rhetorical. Experience is the best teacher and “experiences” within the miasma of Hollyweird build psychoses and pathologies.]

I don’t get out much but none of the men I know would treat anyone, man or woman, gay or straight, black, white, or brown the way it appears that this fat, greasy pig treats people (although being fat isn’t a requirement for being an ass and what has Helio got against pigs?). Anyone that acts like Weinstein (is alleged to) act can’t hide it for very long.

Once again, I note that there’s a tendency among lefties to be bitter and hateful.

    Comment by TnnsNe1 — October 6, 2017 @ 6:43 pm - October 6, 2017

  23. CrayCray, maybe John Nolte can help “un-befuddle” you:

You can bet the house that Bill and Hillary Clinton knew all about the rumors surrounding Weinstein’s indefensible behavior, and so did Barack and Michelle Obama, and so did every single Democrat who benefitted from Weinstein’s donations and mega-fundraising.

But they still took the money, didn’t they?

    Of course they did.

And even though they knew the truth, Variety still took Weinstein’s advertising money.

And even though, going all the way back to 1997, she believed Weinstein was a monstrous serial-harasser, Ashley Judd still worked with him in 2002’s Frida and 2009’s Crossing Over — still put on a pussy hat and lashed out against “sexist” President Trump before she ever went public with what she knew for a fact about Weinstein.

And even as the mainstream and entertainment media, even as Bigtime celebs called for the heads of Roger Ailes and Bill O’Reilly over alleged behavior that pales in comparison, they kept Harvey’s dirty little secret.

    So why go public now?

Weinstein is 65 years-old, his company is reportedly going broke, and he has not produced a hit in nearly five years. In other words, he is an aging, washed-up hasbeen who can no longer do anything for Hollywood’s Ashley Judds and Varietys.

Harvey Weinstein’s world did not collapse this week because oh-so progressive Hollywood suddenly grew a conscience over all of those Ohio girls.

This is about score-settling, not feminism.

This is about payback, not making the world a better place.

These are bad people who allowed a bad man to get away with doing bad things for as long as he was useful to them — as long as the price paid by the Ohio girls was made up for in campaign donations to The Cause.

Rotting leftwing Hollywood, the co-opted entertainment media, the Democrat Party and its national media enablers… a wicked and entrenched system, enablers all, who are every bit as guilty as good ole’ Harvey.

    Comment by Heliorope — October 6, 2017 @ 6:46 pm - October 6, 2017

  24. KCRob asks about my dislike of pigs. Perhaps I should stipulate that boars are the real problem. On the farm, we dumped garbage into the pig slop and they would gobble it up. If the boar was in with the rest, he would tear them up for first place at the garbage. We threw carcasses in with the boars. They would shred the bones and devour every bit of parts and pieces they could chow down on. And mean. Really mean. If you wanted to control a boar, you had to ring his nose and then you had to be able to smack that ring and send pain to his tail in order to get his attention. It wasn’t worth the fight of tusking a boar. So you shot him before he could get that feral. We always had runts in the house until they could hold their own, but as cute and friendly as they were, they eventually turned into pigs – male or female. Don’t get me wrong, if you can stand the smell of their wallow and raise them properly, they make a terrific cash crop. Castrating, ringing and fighting parasites and illness in pigs is easier than any other farm animal. And every stinking part of the critter can be preserved and eaten by someone.

I don’t dislike pigs. But I know their habits. When a human emulates the values of a pig, his aspirations are certainly stunted. One more thing. If a boar smells booty across the river, nothing will pen him and he will swim rapids to get what his nose knows is waiting. Therefore: Harvey Weinstein.

Bill Cosby hid it for decades.

  28. CrayCray. One thing I have observed about you here is that you are usually willing to listen, though that is not always reciprocated by your readers. Like just about all of us, though, your mind does short-circuit on certain issues, which can try your readers’ patience, sometimes to the point of exasperation.

But I have confidence that if you continue to think and reason as you allow yourself exposure to heterodox ideas (such as conservatism), you might find yourself moving in unexpected directions.

One suggestion I have is to be more discerning as to whom among your presumed “allies” you chose to defend because you assume their good intentions when in fact their intentions are corrupt and their words are meant to manipulate, not persuade.

    Comment by civil truth — October 7, 2017 @ 3:43 am - October 7, 2017

  29. I’m not going to play the “a-ha!” game, CrayCray. But your comment @2 kind of reads like a defeatist, “That’s just how the system works” comment.

So I assume that you and I are both in agreement that there is an issue in Hollywood with powerful men exploiting women whom they have positions of authority over. Now I know at every job I have worked, an employee even implying that a subordinate’s career hinged on sleeping with them is classified as sexual harassment. So while we might have different interpretations of the issue- you might see it as an issue of systemic sexism, I might see it as an issue of pure abuse of power- We can both agree that this is an issue. So why do you seem to be taking a “flaw inherit in the system” tone?

Simple, the perpetrator is a Progressive. If you notice, CCP did not condemn the person or the behavior until others called CCP out on it.

Comparing what this sexual predator did with what O’Reily was accused of is evidence that CCP is giving the sexual predator a big fat pass, just like every other Progressive.

    https://www.royalbaconsociety.com/top-10-bacon-quotes-from-homer-simpson-quotes/

@27: CCP – I suppose I should have used the term “quibble” – my issue was generalization. Aside from that, I think we’re on the same page.

I don’t know what to think of Bill Cosby. On the one hand… but on the other, some of his “victims” returned for more. One would think that his offenses would have been “one strike and you’re out”. I’m always a bit skeptical of claims that appear decades after the fact. I grew up with Cosby humor in the 60s and 70s so I confess a soft spot for the guy; I’ve always admired him.

At any rate, I’d bet a dollar that a lot of people close to Cosby knew what was going on. Kind of like that creepy telly personality, Jimmy Savile, that molested little girls for decades while those in the biz (including BBC brass) looked the other way.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Savile#Allegations_of_sexual_abuse

You are neither required to be a member of the Catholic Church nor can you point to any aspect of the rule of law based on English Common Law with derives from the Doctrine of the Catholic Church.

Intolerance of the Catholic Church because it rejects your value system or because it errs is very, very weak tea. Perhaps you are scared silly of the Catholic Church for reasons of your own. But I would bet you a dollar to a donut that you can pass a whole year without the Catholic Church disturbing the peace and serenity of your life in any way.
