Remember kids, Harvey Weinstein didn’t get fired because his company found out he was a sexual predator. He got fired because the public found out he was a sexual predator.

  1. How long do you think it will take for the first allegation of underage sexual abuse comes out?

His “advisor” leaving and his company firing him most likely are because something even more horrible is about to come out (or a deal was made so it doesn’t come out).

  2. When Lanny Davis quits as your crisis flak, your goose is cooked and falling off the bone.

Since Hollyweird is run by M-E-N and Harvey is on one M-A-N in the Hollyweird pack, don’t expect anything to change.

The jackals and hyenas will be there foggy Harvey full of sound and fury and carrying on with business as usual.

The DemonizingRats have shown the way. JFK, Johnson, RKF, Teddy, Chris Dodd, Bill Clintoon, John Edwards, and so many more. They clean up afterwards and keep on trucking’.

This is liberalism. They play by their rules. If an old lion causes trouble, they tear him apart and move on. No one loved Harvey, He swam with sharks and then he started to bleed and that led to good-bye Harvey.

Liberals will try to pave over it, but ticket buyers will still decided whether they want to buy tickets or not. Liberals can’t figure our how to earn respect. Everything with them is always about forcing people to accept them.

It’s long bothered me that the left has protected Polanski (just compare Whoopi’s “it’s not rape rape” defense to her reaction to Trump’s pussy comments.

The left is broken and has no standards other than holding the right to theirs.

  5. Now we find out that Matt Damon and Russell Crowe lobbied to kill a story in 2004 that would have exposed this Hollywood Pig. Aren’t Damon and Crowe avowed feminists and Progressives?

  7. Russell Crowe has lost some favour in the industry since the 2002 BAFTA incident. Granted, he hasn’t been disowned.

Matt Damon is still a bit of a golden child but caught some flack for being narrow minded about the lack of diverse representation behind the camera during a roundtable a few years ago.

I don’t really care much for either of them (for the record).

  8. But it is OK to grab women by their external genitalia, because … well because ….whatever.

I wish people on both sides would speak and say both are not okay. I don’t understand how hard it is.

Please note: very few people on here would condemn both behaviours. Not sure. Both men are truly disgusting.

Btw, a comment I made recently has been construed (by, no big surprise, Helio and the like) as condoning the behaviour of Weinstein, as well as others like him in the industry. Just to be clear: I do not. And I am glad this information has gone public.

    Comment by CrayCrayPatriot — October 9, 2017 @ 7:27 pm - October 9, 2017

  9. Kate Winslet:

The fact that these women are starting to speak out about the gross misconduct of one of our most important and well regarded film producers, is incredibly brave and has been deeply shocking to hear. The way Harvey Weinstein has treated these vulnerable, talented young women is NOT the way women should ever EVER deem to be acceptable or commonplace in ANY workplace.

“I have no doubt that for these women this time has been, and continues to be extremely traumatic. I fully embrace and salute their profound courage, and I unequivocally support this level of very necessary exposure of someone who has behaved in reprehensible and disgusting ways. His behaviour is without question disgraceful and appalling and very, very wrong. I had hoped that these kind of stories were just made up rumours, maybe we have all been naïve. And it makes me so angry. There must be ‘no tolerance’ of this degrading, vile treatment of women in ANY workplace anywhere in the world.

    Jessica Chastain:

I was warned from the beginning. The stories were everywhere. To deny that is to create an enviornment for it to happen again … Perhaps we shouldnt attack a woman for the crimes of a man? We’re all learning & I admire this. What she has said here moves us forward.

  10. Not sure why GP doesn’t champion Jessica Chastain. She has:

    1) Refused to work with Woody Allen (and she could have had she wanted since her star skyrocketed in 2011)
    2) Refused to work with Harvey Weinstein (the director of one of her films allowed Harvey to buy their film even after she objected)

    Comment by CrayCrayPatriot — October 9, 2017 @ 7:50 pm - October 9, 2017

  11. Director James Gunn posted an extensive note on Facebook about Weinstein, as well as similar accusations against other powerful men.

“As we’ve discovered lately with the numerous sexual allegations against Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, Roger Ailes, and Bill O’Reilly, sexual predators have no political affiliation. They are Republicans, Democrats, Communists, Nazis, Green Party, Whigs, and whatever-the-hell-else is out there. But they also know no status or occupation.

    Comment by rusty — October 9, 2017 @ 8:09 pm - October 9, 2017

  12. Now, will we see the Hollywood perv get raked over the coals on late night TV?

Too bad all the “powerful” people didn’t stop this in 2004. There must have been some call to arms by the big studio bosses. This story has been around for 5 days. It took that long for all these people to “come out”.

I think we can agree comparing what someone said they would do with what someone actually did diminishes the severity of what was actually done.

“I would like to kill Harvey” is completely different from actually killing Harvey. I guess some Progressive don’t get the difference between words and deeds.

I will not condemn the words of a person at the same level that I will condemn a person actions. Add the hypocrisy of a “Feminists” to the mix and there is no comparison Trying to make such a comparison is nothing but deflection.

    Is that the total picture?

I won’t defend anything approaching this Genghis Khan type of assault on a woman.

But, tell me why you choose to refer to the Billy Bush tape and strip it of all context and qualifiers. Are you too pressed for time to be able to be honest?

On the other hand, wasn’t it nice of Bubba Clintoon to tell the injured party to put some ice on it?

  14. And we have rusty trying to equate the allegations against the Fox folks with what this pig did. Sort of like comparing zit to a brain tumor. If Hollywood is so outraged let’s here the names of the others. Drain the Hollywood Swamp. Even the pig himself tells us this has been going on for decades. Let’s see some real action here. Every SJW should be protesting in front of every movie theater in America this weekend. But they won’t. Cowards.

  15. Why do Leftist go for the private Trump 1:1 guy talk leaked tape 10+ years ago when trying to justify really abhorrent rape – sexual harrassment by Democrats. Woman know the difference between private locker room BS and a man actually sexually abusing a woman.

It is the use of faux outrage comparisons like that without context which make me take the Leftists statements in general as BS.

    Comment by Sandra — October 9, 2017 @ 8:45 pm - October 9, 2017

  16. Thanks Rusty, for posting that. The actions, and the words of others, are all varying degrees of deplorable, but all deplorable none-the-less. I guess some people have a problem admitting this.

You can say “this is more disgusting than this, but both are still disgusting.” It ain’t rocket science.

Also, this story broke on a Friday, if I’m not mistaken. It’s now Monday. Makes sense that all the reactions are coming out after the weekend, as happens with news cycles. But, people are free to spin this in other ways.

    Comment by CrayCrayPatriot — October 9, 2017 @ 9:18 pm - October 9, 2017

  17. Close issued a more emotional reaction.

“I’m angry, not just at him and the conspiracy of silence around his actions, but also that the ‘casting couch’ phenomenon, so to speak,” Close continued—“the horrible pressure, the awful expectation put on a woman when a powerful, egotistical, entitled bully expects sexual favors in exchange for a job.”

“Ours is an industry in which very few actors are indispensable and women are cast in far fewer roles than men, so the stakes are higher for women and make them more vulnerable to the manipulations of a predator. I applaud the monumental courage of the women who have spoken up,” Close added, referring to Ashley Judd and the other women cited in the shocking report The New York Times published last week, which chronicled nearly three decades’ worth of sexual harassment allegations against Weinstein. “I hope that their stories and the reportage that gave them their voices represents a tipping point, that more stories will be told and that change will follow.”

Close then went even further: “The changes must be both institutional and personal. Men and women, in positions of power, must create a work environment in which people, whose jobs depend on them, feel safe to report threatening and inappropriate behavior, like that reported in the Times. No one should be coerced into trading personal dignity for professional success. I feel the time is long and tragically overdue for all of us in the industry, men and women, to unite—calmly and dispassionately—and create a new culture of respect, equality, and empowerment, where bullies and their enablers are no longer allowed to prosper.”

On Sunday evening, the Weinstein Company board fired Weinstein. On Monday, Dame Judi Dench also issued a statement in reaction to the Weinstein news, saying, “Whilst there is no doubt that Harvey Weinstein has helped and championed my film career for the past 20 years, I was completely unaware of these offenses which are, of course, horrifying, and I offer my sympathy to those who have suffered, and wholehearted support to those who have spoken out.”

So, Ms. Close, why didn’t you do this “expose” 10 or 15 years ago? Notice, she doesn’t list the names of the others.

Yes, some deeds are much worse than some actions.

It is not rocket science. Anyone with a functional moral compass knows that.

    Comment by TnnsNe1 — October 10, 2017 @ 6:40 am - October 10, 2017

  20. Notice how the Seth Meyers crew spent such little time on this particular pig and defined all men as pigs.

Was this the same way late night handled the Trump comment or the Fox News allegations? Nope, not even close.

Sorry CCP that clip is a fail.

Also, the story was in the NYT on a Thursday not Friday.
I guess twitter was broken all weekend. It took the ‘god’ of Hollywood Social Justice, Mark Ruffalo), several days to condemn this man. It must have taken that long for his lawyer and agent to tell him it would not hurt his career to condemn the pig. That is a classic example of Hollywood Progressive Moralism.

  22. I’ll tell you where we can’t point:

To instances that show you actually care about the women who were violated.

You’re too wrapped in your narrative of “Hollywood hypocrisy.”

I mean, you write posts about women who falsely accuse men of rape. Yet, you don’t write about how rapists go unprosecuted the majority of the time. You write about a Hollywood pig, but if a woman comes forward, she’s complicit, because she didn’t come forward immediately. If a woman stands up in defence of these women, you accuse her of having to have known and not done anything. And, you can’t condemn Trump, because you’re either not disgusted by his comments or you’re too concerned with the optics of being aligned with anyone on the left. Either way, it’s sad.

    You’re full of sh!t, Jimmy.

    Comment by CrayCrayPatriot — October 10, 2017 @ 1:44 pm - October 10, 2017

  23. My takeaway from the emotional tantrum and childish personal attacks is that there are no instances of people in this forum saying it’s OK to grab women by their genitalia.

But the really funny part is: “You’re a horrible person for criticizing women who knew about Weinstein’s behavior and said nothing. By the way, you’re also a horrible person for not constantly denouncing Trump’s behavior.”

  24. Keep hiding behind technicalities.

This is where you have completely lost the ability to read, mate.

But, keep championing the men who get falsely accused of rape. Keep criticising those who champion the people who stand up against sexual harassers, rapists, and the like.

It’s a look you don’t mind wearing (anonymously behind a keyboard), because there is no cost to you.

  25. Question: Would NBC News and the New York Times have spiked the story if the facts were identical, but instead of Harvey Weinstein, it was one of the Koch Brothers?

    Comment by V the K — October 10, 2017 @ 7:28 pm - October 10, 2017

  26. Question: How much is this about caring about women (and men) who are actually violated or just wanting to paint people who are vocal about women’s rights with a broad brush?

Can you answer that for me Jimmy?

People are coming out of the woodwork to rightfully denounce Weinstein. And rightfully so. And all you can think about is: why didn’t this happen earlier? Well, why didn’t Richard Ailes/Bill O’Reilly’s comeuppance happen earlier? Why is it that we as a society aren’t so appalled by the Trump videotape that it got buried for ten years?

You want SO much to make this about how this is a thing “of the left” and that was a target of “the left.” And “left this” and “left that.” Is there a leftist liberal media bias? Of course there is. And, when they get rightfully exposed each and every time for using that bias to cover things up, it’s a good thing. But, guess what? It’s the liberal media who killed the story and then finally reported on it. Can you deal with that for once?

The point of this story is that all these men were exposed. Sooner would have been better than later for ALL OF THEM.

Do you even care about the people are actually abused/violated/raped? Because it’s actually OK to say that you are. You aren’t actually “a leftist” if you get up and say Weinstein, Ailes, O’Reilly and Company and their abuse of power can all go f*ck off. You’re a human being. Can you be that for once, Jimmy?

    Comment by CrayCrayPatriot — October 10, 2017 @ 8:01 pm - October 10, 2017

Perhaps CCP should ask this model how good she feels that the story finally came out after some of the most men and women in Hollywood and the Progressive media covered up this pig’s disgusting acts. 29. CCP, when the Fox story broke, the Progressive newspaper in my area ran story after story after story for weeks. The Progressives made 1,000’s of comments.

Now, a Progressive is outed as not only a sexual predator but as a rapist, the same paper has run exactly 2 two stories (both buried deep in the paper) and exactly 15 comments have been made. Most Progressives have taken the stance as you – Catholic Church and Fox. Not one has called for a major boycott of the nation’s theaters. Seems like the SJW just aren’t all that concerned about women after all.

  32. 90+% of the reaction I’ve seen from the left has been “But Trump…!!!!!”

That’s funny, because in all of the statements I’ve been reading from celebrities coming out against Weinstein (and there has been plenty, btw), not one mention of Trump. That’s okay. You don’t have to address how the majority of them (do any?) don’t mention trump in their statements against Weinstein.

Yet, here you are, criticising them and not pointing out how some celebrities are actually silent (which is telling). Like Matt Damon. Or how Ben Affleck is a hypocrite and is being called out by Rose McGowan for you. All these details lost on you because … you believe:

    1) Everyone knew. Every last single person knew.

    2) They didn’t report him right away. Because, duh, you would have. (Oh really? It’s that easy, huh? Then maybe you should apply it to why Roger Ailes/O’Reilly got away with it for years. Huh?)

    3) And now that they’re speaking out, “it’s too late.”

Your narrative is so transparent, it’s really unfortunate (and frustrating).

Also, if you’re trying to make the argument that Roman Polanski would have gotten away with his crimes if they had been committed just a couple of years ago, you’d fail.

Also, you ignore celebrities like Jessica Chastain and Brie Larson who grew up in the 80s and 90s and refuse to work with filmmakers like Polanski and Allen.

Like … you completely are looking at this with blinders and don’t seem to really care about the women who have been abused. Sad.

  37. CCP, are you equating what this pig did with what the Fox guys?

Are you equating the outrage level of Progressives over the two?

Yes, the liberal media covered up the Catholic Church abuses. Guess why?

Matt Damon and George Clooney knew in 2004.

NBC knew in August of last year.

When does the boycott of theaters start?

Have all the Progressives signaled their outrage on Facebook by changing their icons to some made up graphic?

What you seem to be missing by hiding behind false “caring for the women” is the hypocrisy of the whole Hollywood and Feminists have showed their true colors. They love money and fame.

Neither Clinton nor the DNC have donated ALL the money this pig donated to them. Where is the outrage?

You cite the carefully crafted “outrage” of the Hollywood Progressives. Please show us links to the out of control average SJW YouTube videos. The average Progressives are not outraged to any scale by comparison. Your “caring” rings hollow. You will still support Hollywood.

  39. Yes, the liberal media covered up the Catholic Church abuses. Guess why?

The Catholic Church was forced to sell millions of dollars in real estate to pay off settlements, and their reputation has never recovered.

Meanwhile, Democrats nominated the enabler wife of sexual predator to be president and have made heartfelt pleas to give an Academy Award to a director who drugged and raped a 13 year old girl.

    Rather different outcomes.

    Comment by V the K — October 11, 2017 @ 9:02 am - October 11, 2017

  40. “And, if so, to what purpose?”

Simple. Sexual harassment and rape are two completely different things. It is not rocket science.

When you group them together, you diminish the rape.

    Trump’s comment was “words”.

This pig actually did what Trump joked about. Those things are not the same. It is not rocket science.

Now, is Progressive Netflix going to drop this pig’s movies from it’s catalog? Will Feminist Bezos drop his pig’s movies from it’s inventory? Will Progressive CBS, NBC, ABC (Disney) remove all this pig’s movies from their networks and streaming services?

    If not, why not?

How come SJW are not calling for these companies to do so? How can people possibly watch any of his movies knowing that the female actors were most likely abused in order to get the roles?

“Yeah, makes a lot of sense.” Who said SJW’s reactions made any sense? Progressives have insisted on ruining the lives and careers of others for much, much less. Will the Oscars revoke pig1 and pig2’s Oscars?

You wanted the ladies to come forward. They are coming forward in droves.

I can’t believe that you think sexual harassment and sexual assault are equal. You need to spend some time volunteering with survivors of sexual assault. Making a crude joke in front of a woman is NOT the same thing has forcing a woman to be penetrated. The fact that you think they are equal apologizes for this Hollywood pig and destroys what little credibility you have here. It isn’t rocket science.

Thank for bring MJ into the discussion. It furthers proves my point that Hollywood is a sexual pig swamp. Drain the Hollywood Swamp. Did you see the Lindsey Lohan reaction?

“I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now,” Lohan said over Instagram Stories. “I don’t think it’s right what’s going on. I think Georgina needs to take a stand and be there for her husband.”

Would you like me to quit watching film, TV, and listening to music while I’m at it?

But, I see you have no interest in answering question #46. However, I’ll address your #47. If Kimmel has abused/harassed women, he needs to go down too. But, you’re a f*cking moron who thinks I would defend him, so what point is there in telling you this?

  52. We can certainly tell CCP is at a complete loss.

I wonder if Progressives have made the link as to why NBC didn’t run with Ronan Farrows story in the summer of 2016. What organization would have put pressure on them? Who was the defacto leader of the DNC at the time? It couldn’t possibly be the person who claimed she knew nothing, could it?

Through this whole thing, the only real issue CCP is upset about is how some people don’t think Ms. Judd (the woman with power, money and options in 1999) is the hero of this story. Obviously, CCP holds Ms. Judd to be an icon of Hollywood. Someone has a teen crush on her.

We list all the abuses from multiple Hollywood pigs along with example after example of Hollywood hypocrisy and all CCP is fixated on is the people who don’t worship Ms. Judd.

Secondary, CCP uses the much much less allegations of the Fox folks to apologise for the horrible (and wide spread) sexual assaults by some of Hollywood elites. This story is the ugly face of Progressives.

  53. TnnsNe1 – CCCCP is deeply invested in Hollywood’s self-image as a champion of all progressive causes and the font of progressive virtues. He has found affirmation in his progressive dogma by seeing that same dogma championed in film, TV, and award shows. That he invokes the Catholic Church is not accidental; Hollywood is the Vatican of Progressive Secular Leftism.

He simply cannot allow himself to admit that his heroines, his priestesses, *knew* all along about Harvey Weinstein but let it happen for the sake of furthering their careers. It’s as is the people he idolizes as the paragons of progressive virtue… have been just as bad and worse than the evil greedy capitalists and Christian hypocrites he has been taught to despise.

It’s a very traumatic event for him, to find out all of this time, he’s been worshiping false gods.

  54. V, yesterday the High Priest of Hollywood, Oliver Stone, took the “wait and see” attitude towards the Weinstein pig. Ooops, today, Mr. Stone is added to the list of Hollywood pigs. He sexually assaulted a woman in front of room full of Progressive Hollywood Disciples and none of them said anything.

  56. lol, I do not worship Ashley Judd. Emma Thompson on the other hand …

Really, you guys, you’re saying a bunch of sh!t anonymously online that you wouldn’t say publicly. Whereas, I am saying things that I would say publicly, to your face, etc.

Carry on cowards. And, feel free to drag Rose Marie while you’re at it. I know consistency is your strong suit.

  57. And CCP continues to deny just how morally bankrupt the Hollywood Progressives are. The list of offends and victims is growing exponentially.

Weinstein and Stone. Will the Oscars nullify their awards or will they continue to honor their white heterosexual privilege?

Oh the hypocrisy!!! Oh the denial!!!

  59. Nope. The perversion is too deep seeded to be undone in 10 days. Studio heads built perversion into contracts. Sick.
