But this is a key difference between Modern Conservatives (a.k.a. Classical Liberals) and the Modern Progessive Left. Conservatives have no problem if leftists want to establish their own communes and live according to their beliefs. (California is rapidly turning into just that). What we resent is leftists seizing Government power and using it to force *us* to live according to *their* beliefs; or as the d-bag in the video puts it, “If I deem you an asshole, I’m allowed to take your stuff.”¬† And the problem is that seizing Government power and using it to force people to live according to their beliefs is what the modern progressive left is all about.

Under the auspices of the United Federation of Planets, we not only have universal health care, we have free, universal education, housing, and food, as well as strict control of dangerous phasers. Political parties voluntarily disbanded long ago after all humans became educated. – George Takei, apparently believing Star Trek is real

And what else does the utopian socialist world of the Federation offer? Apparently, date rape.

“The next thing I remember I was coming to and [George Takei] had my pants down around my ankles and he was groping my crotch and trying to get my underwear off and feeling me up at the same time, trying to get his hands down my underwear,” Brunton says. “I came to and said, ‘What are you doing?!’ I said, ‘I don’t want to do this.’ He goes, ‘You need to relax. I am just trying to make you comfortable. Get comfortable.’ And I said, ‘No. I don’t want to do this.’ And I pushed him off and he said, ‘OK, fine.’ And I said I am going to go and he said, ‘If you feel you must. You’re in no condition to drive.’ I said, ‘I don’t care I want to go.’ So I managed to get my pants up and compose myself and I was just shocked. I walked out and went to my car until I felt well enough to drive home, and that was that.”

I don’t know if the allegation is true, and neither do you. But if your default standard is to automatically believe the accuser, then I guess you have to condemn George Takei. That is, by the way, Mr. Takei’s own standard when it comes to women who accuse others of misconduct.

Update: I know it’s a tired clich√© but, this tweet hasn’t aged well.
