Some typical unbiased reporting from the completely non-partisan American press: How Trump and the Nazis Stole Christmas To Promote White Nationalism (Newsweek)
The fight to end the war on Christmas is exclusionary politics at its most flagrant.
“I see such invocations of Christmas as a kind of cypher, what some would call a dog whistle. It does not appear to be intolerant or extreme, but to attentive audiences it speaks volumes about identity and belonging—who and what are fully American,” Richard King, a professor at Washington State University who studies how white supremacists exploit culture, told Newsweek.
…
Likewise, Nazi Germany’s propagandists rooted their idea of Christmas in visions of ethno-nationalism. They rewrote the lyrics of Christmas carols, promoted Nazified holiday traditions and launched numerous Christmas charity events for poor Germans. The ultimate goal was to draw a clear line between those who belonged and those who should be excluded, those who could not benefit from the joys of Christmas.
Merry Christmas… blah blah blah… White Supremacy… blah blah blah… Trump… blah blah blah Nazis.
Interesting that the author admits there’s a war on Christmas, though.
Somehow, some way these idiot Marxist professors need to be relegated to irrelevancy. If I had a college age child I would do everything I could to get them to go to a trade school or find somewhere to go where these kind of a’holes are minimized!
And the feeling is mutual. The war on their side has been going on a long time but now it is against them as well.
AFAIC, they’re already irrelevant. Who cares about the Mushroom Media or the ravings of this obvious paranoid lunatic? You’d get more intelligent and insightful commentary from the guy on the corner in the tinfoil beanie.
Sounds very similar to Rachel Madcow.
The entertaining part is that this is why Americans as a whole are turning against “higher education”, which has as much relevance to education as Nancy Pelosi does to sanity.
For some reason, it shuts leftists up beautifully when you point out that nothing seems to be coming out of Washington State in the realm of science or math, but they certainly can pay millions of dollars to push propaganda that Christmas is all about white supremacy.
The article declares that Christmas protection is racist, the brings up “dog whistles” to explain why its impossible to see or hear any racism, and then immediately goes into Nazis… Were they going to explain the invisible racism at any point?
The sooner colleges and universities go out of business and put these “professors” on the street, the better off we’ll be.
I cannot get my arms around the fact that people like this get *paid* to think this horse-squeeze up. I wonder if they ever contemplate how useless they are.
Dear college students, don’t buy this crap! It’s a ripoff!
If you replace ‘Nazi’ with ‘Progressive’ in the last paragraph, doesn’t that sound like what is actually happening?
